I attended the annual black tie ball at Stock Brook manner country and golf club. The atmosphere was great, food was nicely prepared and disco well presented. Any body joining for the first time its a real MUST. There is a variety of people of all different age groups so you are able to judge who you see and date

As always the Across The Room Black Tye evening at Stock Brook Manor was A great Happy spectacle to start New year’s celebrations. I found the people who attended were friendly and receptive and a good mixture of ages which was good for everybody.
The quality of food was good and I would definitely attend next year if still unattached

I attended the black tie event at stock brook. Was very excited after being recommended by a work colleague, so feel sad writing this review. Venue was beautiful and food was nice, I also got to chat with some nice ladies during the night, but unfortunately did not have a good night as was placed at the wrong table for my age, with men much older. I was advised afterwards to let the team know, so emailed them after the event as the night was busy with people, also I did not know the team and no one came to check on me or my experience on the night. Response came across, in my opinion, as defensive and deflective of blame. No empathy, understanding or real apology for their mistake. Instead blaming hindsight and member numbers. This lead to what I view as poor communication between myself and them. An expensive and disappointing night. I won’t be spending my money with them again

Went to 1 event and was not impressed, also recommended by a few members NOT to pay the membership.
Just had a call to say I could have a free profile only then to be rejected as I have a couple of facial piecing. I said this doesn't change me as a person but apparently that means I don't fit "the criteria"
Apparently looks matter more than the person, who knew!

This is a brilliant singles social networking events organisation. I love the various event types have been going to a good few now and certainly will carry on until I find somebody compatible. Its a good place to make some good friends. The events are setup with a lot of thought and hard work. I found the organisers understanding and supportive. The food is always lovely with the option for vegetarians. Everybody makes a good effort to dress up for the evening.

The company offers a great way of meeting new people on a one to one basis and have found Stock brook-Manor to be a great summer event. Looking forward to this years winter.

I’ve been to several of these singles events now and can honestly say they’re great fun and really good value. If you happen to meet your soulmate that’s a bonus, but the real draw is that it’s a well-organised evening out with food, drink, dancing, and the chance to meet like-minded people in a relaxed setting.

The events usually attract around 150 people, generally in the 40–60 age range (with a few younger and older too). The host does a brilliant job of making sure the tables are age-appropriate, so everyone feels comfortable.

Personally, I’ve met some wonderful friends through these events, and even had a long-term relationship from one. For me though, the focus is always on enjoying a great night out, and these events deliver that every time.

The company is mis selling their services. They are promoting, by their marketing pictures, the idea that if you attend their events you will be mixing with younger and attractive members of the opposite sex as shown by the ‘models’ in the photos. The reality is that the average attendee is much older than the marketed clientele. I spent a lot of money going to one event. My friend and I were so disappointed.. the men seemed much older, seemed to have let themselves go and were mostly unattractive, and therefore clearly no one suitable.
I realise that it is not always about the number with regards to age. However, being in my mid fifties, I still get attention from guys in their 20s 30s and 40s, with the same lively outlook, so why would I want or need to be looking for someone in their 70s! It felt like I was visiting a nursing home, not a dating event. I think this organisation needs to re think their marketing (and especially the pictures) to reflect who they are actually attracting.
Definitely for older generations.
Also the hassle I had to be served something other than tomato pasta as my main course at a ball I spent over £100 for. Disgraceful! Would never attend again.

Telephoned ATR during the Covid Lockdown to ask for a Broucher for a member of my family. Within 12 Days Eleanor sent me details of a lady who is now my wife. I think it would be impossible to improve on this service. Now, thanks to ATR, I am happily married again in my late 80s.

Best dating ever. Their events are brilliant, I had a lot of fun and met very interesting people. Especially The Valentine Ball event in February. Can't wait for this year's event on the 10th Feb in Hertford. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Attended a great evening at New Year with Across The Room . Much better than trying to do Internet dating They have evening events and dinner dances almost every month and you are guaranteed to meet the ladies The dinner dances are friendly and well organised and with their dance card system you are bound to have a dance with one or more ladies . Whether you are looking for a serious date or just a social evening out I can recommend it .

The event at Stockbrook Manor in Essex was a well organised and enjoyable evening. Being my first event, I was a little nervous about walking in alone, but Eleanor and her team were at the door ready to greet people, escort you in and introduce you to others, so you soon felt at ease.
The venue is excellent and the dinner was very good. The dance card and table changes were a great way to get to talk to different people and for me, the conversation flowed easily.
For anyone considering joining, I would recommend this event. Not only a good way to socialise but a way to make new friends - male and female.

Lovely lady Eleanor and her team who organised the event. Fabulous old fashioned set up with gentlemen changing places through the different courses of the dinner. This was a great way to meet single people and have interesting conversation. Very much enjoyed the evening.
Look forward to joining another event in the near future

Once again Across the room have blown us away with a wonderful event at Stock Brook Manor. The fine detail Eleanor and her team put into every event they do. The food is top quality and they worry about everyone who attends. They are also an exceptional introduction agency for you to be introduced to your new partner. They read every review and find you ideal future partners to suit with things you also enjoy. I always look forward to the next event and sign up to attend as soon as they come up. They introduced me to some lovely ladies and fingers crossed found my lifelong partner through the agency.

This agency’s claims on its website don’t match the reality. It claims, for instance to “hold events in all the major towns of Herts, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambs, Kent and Berkshire” as well as in London. The reality is that there’s hardly any events in major towns in those counties and no events at all in Norfolk, Kent and Berkshire. It also claims to have an event each weekend. False again. Apart from the sporadic big events in Essex, Herts and rural Suffolk there’s just four others between now and the end of the year. In total there’s just 13 events currently listed. Hardly one every weekend! Then there’s the supposed “sparking party nights”, speed dating and Sunday lunches. The events list doesn’t mention a single one.
The agency may well provide a service to its members in Essex and Herts but its claim to serve seven counties and London is far fetched and my experience based on attending two flagship events is that there are few if any members outside those two counties. Avoid unless you either live in those areas or are content with a long distance relationship if you don't.

The agency claims in its response to me that members join on the basis of the published Calendar of Events which is of course perfectly true. My point is that it is claiming on its website to operate events across a wider area, at greater frequency and of different natures to what it actually does. There are no "sparkling party nights" speed dating or, up to this point at least, any Sunday lunches. Neither on the basis of the current programme do events take place anything remotely like each weekend. Again I agree that members can see as much from the programme but it doesn't alter the fact that the claims on the website are not borne out by the programme.

The Bull at Long Melford Dinner and Dance on Friday was lovely. Was the first event I have attended , the Hostesses were very welcoming . Check during the evening if you were ok. The dating agency side I would recommend as well. that is going very well for me at the moment. It is a really good way to meet someone. Whether you just do the social events or join the agency.
