I just wanted to say a big thank you to Eleanor and the ladies for an excellent evening at The Bull in Long Melford.

The staff at the venue were helpful and friendly. They walked me to my car when I left. The food was tasty. I had a great evening and met like minded single people.

I have tried online dating previously and experienced some of the pitfalls and fake people so didn’t want to meet someone by swiping again.

With Across The Room you are supported and looked after. They know their clients and care about you. The events are carefully planned. Just through talking to them it is very evident they are passionate about what they do. To the online dating sites you are just a number.

Just love being able to dress up and to meet people face to face with the knowledge the Eleanor and the team are their supporting us. It is the best way to meet single people and to anyone thinking about it go ahead do it!

I am looking forward to Stock Brook Manor in July. The new frock has been ordered! Just need to book The Blue Strawberry in June!

I had a lovely evening with a mixture of different people, met new friends both male and female in a really convivial setting. The venue, The Bull in Long Melford, was comfortable and delightful. Hosts were really friendly, the food fab, the company lovely, with great dancing and good chat. I was up until 1am. It was a very special eve...and, yes, I did give my number out!

Like all new experiences, I went along to this event will a degree of scepticism. However I was pleasantly surprised as to how well organised and fun the whole event was. The venue was perfect, held at a country golf club with catering on par (please excuse the pun !). The evening encourages people to get to know one another by asking guests to change dinner tables on several occasions. "Speed daters" need not apply. You are given ample time to get to know someone at your own pace with no pressure attached. Everyone is so friendly !!! It is very difficult to leave the event without making new friends at the very least and there is a real opportunity to find love. If youre thinking about attending one of these events then just do it !!

I attended a Singles Black Tie Ball at Brickenden Grange Country Club last night, it was a lovely venue excellent food and great disco. The event was superbly organised with equal numbers of ladies and gentlemen. I do not live near Hertfordshire so it was quite a way for me to travel - but we'll worth it.

Attended my first event last night, a black tie ball in a fabulous location. The evening was very well organised and everyone was super friendly. I was very quickly put at ease. A great way to meet new people, make friends and have a really great night out. It sure beats those dating apps!

I contacted this agency few times and after they sent me the information pack at home I never heard from them again despite my costantly reminders; they just disappeared. There is a terrible lack of communication with this agency and I wouldn't recommend it neither to my worst enemy.

I attended last nights event, I met some amazing people and had a thoroughly good time! I would highly recommend Across the Room to anyone considering attending dating events.

I really enjoyed the event I went to at Stock Brook Manor on Friday; nice location and maybe the best location of these events I have attended, to date.

ATR really do well with their target clientele, but it is good that ATR now plan to diversify with extending the age group to also include those of us a bit younger and I hope, plan events further afield or at least attracting more people from further afield; instead of mainly closer to the location, especially as there is nothing like this firm anywhere near to it. After the event, maintaining contact/meeting should be realistic as not everyone can travel or move location so easily.

This is not a negative criticism, but just my thoughts on what I want and other/potential customers might also want. Overall though, great team, locations/menus and even if clientele are not a match for a date, nice people you can enjoy the event with and maybe maintain friendships with.

Great venue and great atmosphere

I joined Across the Room and was immediately seen to by the amazing girls that work there (Soph was my favourite, shame she’s not single) I went for the premium option and was given my own dating consultant. I haven’t met the right girl just yet but I have been on a few dates with really nice girls that Across the Room matched me with, all part of the dating game.

I have attended many social events organised by Across the Room and must say that I have always enjoyed myself. From the moment you arrive you are always met with a smile and a huge welcome by Eleanor and her hostesses. I have made many friends at Across the Room both male and female and so enjoy chatting to like minded singles over a meal and then dancing into the early hours.

As yet I have not joined the Dating Agency but a friend of mine recently joined and has been very successful and happy in being matched with several suitable men who share her interests and life style. It has given me food for thought about joining myself.

I can only give a rating myself on the social events but going by the success of a friend would also give the Dating Agency the same rating.

Eleanor and her team are always on the end of the telephone ready to give any help and advise at a very difficult time in my life. They forwarded some very nice profiles and I have enjoyed meeting up with them.

A good friendly personal service by Elenor and her team who have given me personal introductions and helped to expand my social life by the Dinner Dances which has proved great way of meeting new people.

Don't do it! Paid a fortune for what I thought would be a better service from a proper dating agency. No communication. Sent unsuitable profiles - you get people already talking to other people (shows the lack of communication between the agency and member) people who are just looking for a hook up or people who aren't even looking for the same thing as you! What does your money pay for because it certainly isn't 'matching' people up?! This agency holds all the cards and is a rip off.

In response to the reply from Across the Room - yes I am a genuine member and when I have contacted you about my concerns (many times) you failed to respond. I am very unhappy.

I would highly recommend Across the Room as a one-to-one dating agency. Eleanor and her team get to know all their members which helps enormously when matches are selected. A massive advantage of their one-to-one service is that matches are sent regularly. I made the mistake of paying a great deal of money to a very upmarket agency but did not realise that I had no guarantee of regularly receiving profiles. The service they provided was hugely disappointing which is certainly not the case with Across the Room. Eleanor, Lydia and the team are lovely, friendly ladies who are always at the end of the phone to answer any questions or just chat generally about how everything is going. I am very happy with the service they provided.
