Disappointment on second AHI trip!
My first experience with AHI, to Liguria, was superb. Our excellent hotel overlooked a beautiful harbor and the view from our room and private balcony was the best I've ever seen. That sort of accommodation means a lot to me when I travel, so I was very excited to book this trip, at a hotel that seemed to offer a similar experience. It did offer that, but not to me!
You never explicitly promised a decent room, but based on my previous trip, I don't feel I was wrong to have expected something above Motel 6 quality. What I got was a nightmare. A room overlooking an alley, no balcony, no view except of the larger building across the street, filled with the balconies of people whose main view was of my room, if I didn't keep my curtains closed.
My room itself was almost as antiseptic as my view. White walls, white ceiling, white Ikea-like plastic laminate furniture, white sheets and bedspread and curtains. It was like a week inside an operating room.
I asked the hotel and my very wonderful tour director if a room change was possible. It was not. Unless a decent room is guaranteed, I will not be traveling with AHI again.
A related note: some of our (generally excellent) excursions seemed rushed. Very little free time, so we were always back at our hotel by 4:30 pm or so. Time on tour could have been extended.
On a positive note, tour director and in-hotel lectures were exceptional.

Presents the wonders of Apulia!
Such a great variety of locations in Apulia on this tour. Being based in a small coastal town where we could walk around and enjoy it was great. The on the ground coordination was extremely well executed and the local tour guides were great. Memorable tour.

It was a well planned tour
It was a well planned tour, they met us at airport on arrival, guided through every day and event, and met us at the departure airport on the way home. Outstanding. Accommodations were very nice, there were multiple interesting activities, and sufficient free time to explore.

This was the best trip I have taken…
This was the best trip I have taken with AHI and will probably take it again! The area is fabulous and the weather was great . Late October might be even better! My one objection was that 3 activities a day were overkill. But the star of it all was our guide Christophe!

Umbria…Great Food, Great People and Great Scenery!
The trip to the Umbria region of Italy was very enjoyable. The Sini Brufani hotel was exceptional. Our itinerary took us to lovely towns, a winery and an olive mill. Our tour director Valeria made this trip special. Her expertise and friendly nature made this trip fun.

River Cruise disappointing
The river cruise ship and excursions were well below expectations. Cabins were extremely compact, food choices minimal, variety of wine at meals was non existant. Later learned the ship company is the lowest ranked river cruise line. We believe it! Tour guides were pleasant and organized though for tours we expected more than one wine tasting. We paid a couple of thousand dollars per person more than others on the tour. Don't know why.

Excellent trip overall
Excellent, knowledgeable tour director and local guides. Very interesting sites. Most of us do not walk more than a mile a day and we walked 2 to 5 miles a day on the trip. We would suggest spreading the walking days out by inserting some of the local sites between them.
