Ailsa Black trained at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen where she studied Graphic Design and Illustration. Today she works from a seaside studio in the tiny Scottish village of Carsethorn in Dumfries and Galloway. From her studio she observes and captures the daily comings and goings of village life. Today her art appears in galleries and on an extensive and growing range of gift ware available both in the UK and abroad. Ailsa has exhibited at the Royal Glasgow Institute and Paisley Art Institute. In 2017 she was listed as one of 25 top UK influential art brands to watch by a panel of over 200 retailers and business people by Licensing Biz. In 2018 her RSPB Year Planner was voted Best Charity Calendar in the UK Calendar Awards.

The print I had ordered came surprisingly quickly by Royal Mail. It was in a cellophane cover, rolled in a sturdy tube but easily flattened out after removal. As usual Ailsa's personal touches of a thank you note and cards accompanying the package added a warm glow to my satisfaction. The print 'Underneath A Purple Sky' is now up on the wall surrounded by my own mount and fuchsia chalk painted frame to enhance the wonderful colours of the print…I have a bit of a purple theme going! Thanks again Ailsa.

A very special birthday!
I was lucky enough to be able to commission a personal piece of art from Ailsa for a special birthday and I could not be more thrilled with the whole process and of course the painting itself! Ailsa was so helpful to guide me through the process, keeping me up to date as things progressed and sent lots of lovely photos as the work was being done. It was an absolute joy and Ailsa was a pleasure to deal with, it made the whole process seem a part of the gift. I have loved Ailsa's art for years and I could not be happier with my painting. My order was dealt with very promptly. We have sent the calendar's to expat friends and family for the last 3 years, and they give us appreciative feedback ... the pictures are charming reminders of Scottish animals, birds and landscapes.

Excellent experience
Ailsa was so helpful sorting out my order, even when there was a problem with delivery that was way beyond her control.
I've loved having Ailsa's calendar above my desk throughout 2022 and I know I'll love a new image every month during 2023.
We also loved the No Ball Games jigsaw and we're looking forward to more jigsaws in the future.

Happy to have discovered Ailsa's art!
I stumbled across Ailsa's art one day while I was looking for something different to put up in my bedroom. I instantly fell in love with all of her pieces I could see and bought a couple and some lovely cards too. I could not have been happier the pictures make me smile every time I look at them her humor and the way she's captured all the animals is truly wonderful. Communication from Ailsa was also fantastic what a lovely lady. Thank you so much for your creations. I would definitely recommend.

Delighted.
We are so pleased with the painting. It arrived today and is beautiful. The colours are so vibrant, it’s even nicer than on the website. I had a few technical difficulties ordering on the website and Alisa sorted them out immediately for me. The packaging was super and delivery very quick even with the postal strike. Thanks so much.

Love the calendar
Love the calendar especially as the week starts on a Monday. Fabulous designs and plenty of space to write comments. This is the 5th year I have ordered this calendar. Arrived very quickly.
