Ailsa Black trained at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen where she studied Graphic Design and Illustration. Today she works from a seaside studio in the tiny Scottish village of Carsethorn in Dumfries and Galloway. From her studio she observes and captures the daily comings and goings of village life. Today her art appears in galleries and on an extensive and growing range of gift ware available both in the UK and abroad. Ailsa has exhibited at the Royal Glasgow Institute and Paisley Art Institute. In 2017 she was listed as one of 25 top UK influential art brands to watch by a panel of over 200 retailers and business people by Licensing Biz. In 2018 her RSPB Year Planner was voted Best Charity Calendar in the UK Calendar Awards.

Wonderful work and great service.
I've purchased several times in the past from Ailsa as I love her work and I've always always been so pleased with the prompt, friendly and personal response I get from her. I cannot recommend her highly enough. I've derived great pleasure from the works I have purchased from her. In particular her quirky observations of our relationships with our canine companions which have cheered me up on many occasions through this awful year. Thank you Ailsa.

Excellent service and lovely product
Delightful range of art based products from cards to useful items such as table mats. Original paintings are stunning and quirky often with a humorous twist. All products use Ailsa's art work - nice to own or to gift.
Service on line was excellent and friendly. Purchases dispatched by next day.

Quick and easy ordering
Quick and easy ordering. Expansive web site. Delivered within a week I think, well packaged. Love the picture and it looks good on my wall. I have bought several pictures from Ailsa Black both for my self and as presents for family members. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Beautiful work
Beautiful work. I think my third order now from Ailsa. I ordered cards. Previously I had placemats (which are still looking fantastic, unlike most of the ones we've had before that quickly get marks and chips out of the pictures). Love the cards, delightful.

Wonderful Christmas Cards
Have admired Ailsa Black pictures for a long time. Loved the Christmas card designs, came really quickly and are super quality. Even got a bonus free card & a handwritten note .... a lovely touch.
