Al's provides exemplary customer…
Al's provides exemplary customer service. I purchased two pairs of sneakers online. They were fabulous except I needed a larger size because of a bunion. Sara/Sarah was so warm, helpful and supportive over the phone. Other businesses use AI and chat bots which can be so frustrating and ironically inefficient. But Al's is smart enough to still deliver old-fashioned, competent, human to human customer care. She completely empathized with my situation and was so supportive and accommodating. It's this type of customer service and caring that leads to customer loyalty and would gladly support them back.
Tried to refuse refund
They charged me $30 for expedited shipping and then did not ship expedited. I requested a refund of what I paid and they would only give me half back. As soon as I filed a claim for the other half they immediately refunded because they knew they were wrong. I wasn't even upset they didn't ship it correctly I just can't believe they wouldn't do the right thing and refund me.
Lures you in with inaccurate claims of in-stock items
I ordered an in-stock camping pillow for a good price and some slightly over-priced "cart filler" to get free shipping. Rather than cancelling the whole order, they've shipped and charged me for the over-priced stuff and refuse to honor their price on the pillow. Very not cool.
Credit Card Fraud???
Researched for a pair of Teva slip on shoes and it was marked down 45%. Placed the order and my credit card was accepted, but with in minutes they rejected my order and got a email that said. "Your order was canceled due to security checks in place to protect your account. If you believe this was an error, please contact our team for assistance." I contacted their support team and was told their third party security software flagged me and rejects the order. I was told I could use another email address and credit card and that may fix the problem. I find this issue to be potentially very troubling as my credit record is over 800 and no new potential exposures on my side. At this point I'll be tracking my credit card to see when and if the credit comes back on the account. With the number of complaints being high with Als.com I'm looking at potential Credit Card fraud.
Failure of inventory
I ordered a Patagonia nano puff hoody that was on sale. After 6 days my order was cancelled due to Als Sporting Goods not having the jacket in stock. I was not offered any other coupon or discount for their error in inventory. I checked their site for a different color which was available at the time of my initial order but it was sold out. As a result I cannot recommend this vendor.
Order Cancelled
Order placed on 3/1/26, notified on 3/7/26 that the order was cancelled. I now have to scramble to get boots in my hands by 3/11/26

Ordered a sweatshirt. My card was charged. 5 days later, I emailed asking for an update. They didn't respond to my email directly but they did cancel my order. Said the item wasn't in stock.

A1 Customer Service!
I called Customer Service about a potential order, and Sarah was truly the most helpful Support Rep I’ve ever encountered. She was quick to understand what I needed assistance with, and spoke very clearly and concisely. Al’s seems to know how to train employees, and I truly felt their priority is to support the customer. Bought what I wanted from Al’s, and would do business with them again in a heartbeat.
I ordered rain pants for Christmas
I ordered rain pants for Christmas - they sent the package out with the wrong address - it got shipped back to them and they have REFUSED TO SHIP IT BACK OUT TO ME WITH THE CORRECT ADDRESS. I have have called them 4 times - they quickly want to get me off the phone - I have emailed them, they say they are going to reship but never did.
customer service was excellent
On 12/1/25 I ordered some Athlon binoculars. When I placed the order it said they would be delivered by 12/19, but then the order confirmation said they would be delivered on 12/22. I am leaving for Christmas on 12/21 and the binoculars are a gift. I emailed Al's customer service and they replied in a reasonable time telling me that they would investigate and get back to me and would cancel my order if necessary. I had seen the negative reviews and was a little nervous. The next day I called the number that was included in their email. I was on hold for a few minutes and then was able to speak with someone. I found out that they don't ship the binoculars from Al's. They come from Athlon (the manufacturer). She said they were waiting to hear from Athlon about the delivery date. I decided I would give them two days to get back to me. A few hours later, I got an email saying they were shipped. I received the binoculars on 12/5/25. So my experience was excellent and I will use them again.
Not honest ...
I paid for a 2026 ski model (Elan Ripstick 96, 2026) and they shipped the 2024 model. First time buyer. How to trust them a second time ? Date: Nov 2025

They don't have the product they are offering.
Their website lists product 50% off just to get you on their mailing system. When it comes time to fulfill the order they cancel it due to "inventory issues".
All the time you are inundated with emails.

Never shopping with these weasels again! I purchased two shirts bran new and they came damaged: one frayed and the other with faded patches. The shirt came in a bag crumpled up. I knew the sale price was too good to be true.
