I've purchased several times from Alternative Brewing and they have been excellent with communication, advice and their gear is the very best.
I've even purchased a tamper that wasn't suitable for my setup and they were so helpful they swapped out the item with one of their display tampers. Legends!

I read a lot of reviews on this kettle before purchasing. Some reviews said it was just a good size for two people but it’s definitely big enough for 4-6 cups. It’s so easy to use and no writing on the base that can wear off like my last kettle. Easy to keep clean and super quiet. It might take a little longer to boil but it’s not an issue for us. I’ve also noticed hardly any steam comes out and I think that’s because there’s a little steam hole in the lid so it’s very gradual as opposed to heaps of steam right at the end. I wish the cord wasn’t so long as I try to hide it behind the kettle but that’s my only small issue if I had to be picky. I would highly recommend this kettle. We are using it for coffee/tea and when I need boiled water for cooking etc.

I also really like that Alternative Brewing has a YouTube channel so I can get their reviews on certain products too.

I originally purchased the Flair Pro 2 from Alternative Brewing and I was struggling to get a level dose with the provided tamp on my Flair Pro 2. I purchased the Normcore spring loaded V4 tamp and it takes care of that, perfect level tamp every time giving even water flow. Also like the fact that there’s 3 different springs. I used the standard spring for awhile and now just switched to the tighter spring with great results. Perfect shots now, great flavour, no bitterness 😊

Terrible customer service. Have sent me a faulty product and keep asking for videos and other nonsense which I have provided. Finally arranging to send back after their push back, and they say they will test the item on return. Just take the faulty product back and refund. Also I just realised who this is owned by and feel disgusted that I purchased anything from them

I bought an Opal One specialised pod machine through Alternative Brewing a few weeks ago and experienced a problem with a pod getting stuck after 10 or so brew cycles. Followed all instructions but lever would not fully open and I was not confident to force it more for fear of breaking it and being stuck with the problem and a physically broken machine.

Contacted Alternative Brewing with details via email – I got a prompt polite email reply but with a request for photos, serial number and a video of the problem. Sent that and then got another fluffy polite reply now asking me for pictures of the pod used. Sent a screen shot of the exact Lavazza pods bought on Amazon.

Next, I get another detailed reply quoting the Opal importer allegedly asking me to physically poke and pry the pod loose with a metal skewer(!!?), turn it upside down, shake it… apply more pressure to the lever!!!

I said no, was not going to do all that, I didn’t want to break the machine and just want my money back. Again, polite, pointless reply and now saying they needed to speak to importer. I replied and said I bought from Alternative Brewing, I wanted to return it and get my money back as is my right with the seller under consumer law.

Again, a long, pointless reply about talking to this team and that and they’d come back to me – nothing.

$230 down the drain – be aware and very careful with Alternative Brewing and Opal One.

These guys have amazing service, really helpful and responsive. You feel almost like you're in the shop - they are so knowledgeable about coffee accessories and machines. Will always shop here for my gear in future.
