Excellent website, excellent customer service. I regularly order sosmix from Alternative Stores and it’s outstanding. It is AUTHENTIC sosmix- the same brand I have been enjoying for the last decade. It’s becoming increasingly hard to find- thankful Alternative Stores has it!

I wanted to thank John for his helpful suggestions with products to purchase. It is so easy to go to this shop and get all of the Vegan products one uses. If I have to go to a larger store, I can never get what I need. The pricing is fair and quality excellent . For me Alternative has everything with such helpful, friendly staff. See you next week!

Wish I could give these guys zero!

I ordered the sos mix online and was expecting to get the brand they pictured on their website, instead I receive their own brand.

Spoke to a very unhelpful lady on the phone about it, who stated 'Siomix is sosmix', but if you are not selling the brand pictured, you should not display this on your website. This is false advertising!

The unhelpful lady also stated, 'we haven't had this problem before', trying to highlight that I'm a particularly difficult person. I think it's quite reasonable that I expect to receive what was pictured on the website and not their own brand product.

I made a purchase from Alternative Stores for the first time on Monday, their site is so easy to use and understand, I found the purchase process very easy to complete, I chose next day delivery which is by DPD, so I received my Fry's plant based sausage rolls yesterday, these are absolutely delicious and I've left a review on Alternative Stores product page to this effect.

Ordered Vegan Black Pudding and Tempeh!!! Were both Yummy but the Tempeh hit the ball right outa the park!!! It was Soooo Delicious and my house smells so good after cooking it!!! The only bad thing is I only ordered 1!!! Gonna empty my freezer and order many more!!! Also Fast Fast Fast Delivery!!! U Guyz Rock!!! 💜💜💜

Really pleased to find the original Sosmix, hunting around we found that Alternative Stores seem to be the main supplier.
This was our first order, the web site was easy to negotiate, order placed and then 2 days later (order placed on a Sunday) the parcel arrived. It was despatched on the Monday, email advisory with tracking information and then updates when it was out for delivery with expected times. Just what you want, an easy and reliable process.
A bonus is that the Sosmix is exactly as we remember from nearly 15 years ago.

I love this store! Plenty of variety and items I would find hard to buy anywhere else. Also, my orders have always been delivered faster than expected. Highly recommended!

Placed an order last week and received no confirmation , so called to chase it and was advised that they have sent me an email which is probably in my spam or trash mail, not the case at all , and was offered no explanation why they had not bothered to send my goods despite taking the payment straight away. Finally received it today but really not happy at all, terrible service and will not be ordering again!

Just received my daughters vegan jazz shoes. We are both delighted with them. I've always had no choice but to order them specially from Russia which cost me a fortune in postage but now I'm lucky Alternative stores stock them. The quality is far superior too.

I love this company, I have two pairs of their boots and a pair of welly's and they are amazing really strong and comfortable and look great. l love ordering from a fully vegan company and have had no problems, apart from the lack of stock atm due to coronavirus demand. Thank you look forward to my next package very soon.

Five years ago I would have awarded AS five stars - now it's one star. That tells you how much I have seen this once great shop deteriorate. They used to offer excellent service, but now they just don't care - except for profit, of course. And that is all down to personnel changes (imo).

I complained recently about a product I had bought on the strength of its description, but which turned out to be vile and actually made me gag. Now, I have been buying a great variety of vegan products for almost twenty years (including 20 years buying from AS), and have rarely found fault - because I am usually very hard to displease. The product that made me feel sick was also over-priced. When I explained all this to the woman in charge - asking for some sort of credit as compensation - she gave no hint of compassion or interest, and refused to give me any sort of recompense for my awful experience. She made me feel as though she didn't care a jot about my custom - or her reputation. Well, now I am a confirmed EX-CUSTOMER!

Oh, and some of their prices are now 10% higher even than my local wholefood store - which is pricey enough! There are plenty of other wholefood stores out there - do yourself a favour...

Wow, I am so impressed with my experience ordering from this company during this pandemic. I understand the strain a lot of small businesses are under right now so I was willing to wait a couple of weeks for my order. My order was actually delivered within 2 days! No cancelled items either. I would definitely recommend Alternative Stores.

Bought two pairs of boots and loved them until I tripped wearing one pair and it totally ripped the suede like covering showing the plastic beneath. Complained but was told it was my fault. Very poor quality tatal waste of money boots unwearable.

This is the only place that I can get Sosmix, though they have a very good range of other ethical goods. I placed an order, then had a problem with my login so I called them and it was quickly and courteously sorted out. My order was quickly dispatched and arrived in about 24 hours. I liked that a couple of delicate items had been packed in a reused box, so that the box came to have another use. All in all the service is excellent.

I've had a few orders from Alternative Stores now and have been very happy. The web design could do with a bit of an update as I find it rather clunky, although the search facility is good. They sell a lot of goods you can't necessarily find in the shops which is why the site can be clunky to use - I click on nearly every category to ensure I don't miss anything. Any queries with the order mean you get a phone call straight away to check (during opening hours) and discuss options with you. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Orders are often sent out the same day (although again, be aware of opening hours) for delivery the next. Once the DPD (usually) delivery van is loaded you get an email and/or text advising of the one hour delivery slot and you can track the driver's route online (a surprisingly pleasing hobby!) As well as ambient goods the company provide chilled and frozen products, too, although be aware the freeze packs they use have a limited life so leaving the parcel out in the sun all day is not a good idea. The site does warn you about this. Altogether, one of my favourite companies, I always enjoy dealing with them and receiving my package of goodies. They do Vego bars (the big ones as well as the small), what more do you want?
