This company uses data scraping services such as Lusha and Apollo to send unauthorised marketing communications. I received an email from a "BDM" addressing me like we'd been friends for years, but the problem is that a friend wouldn't process my data without permission, obtained from disreputable sources.

Your reply is complete falsehood. If you adhered to GDPR regulations you would not be processing my data without consent and/or sourcing data from third parties who are also in breach of regulations. Take responsibility, and don't use canned statements in an attempt to cover your tracks. I can prove you breached the rules and will be making a complaint to the ICO.

For me, the 'pay as you go' option was the decider as starting up as a new business meant I didn't really know how many IDs I would need to check in a month. No other companies were willing to run a pay as you go option so I was glad I found AplyiD. As far as the software, it is rare I get issues with clients completing the verification which is good and the backend systems are straight forward. No complaints after 12 months of using the system so all good.

1. You only have 30 days to exit a 1-year contract. Make sure you set up a reminder to review during this period!
2. Re-checks (?) are charged extra above your minimum fee. It should be included in the monthly minimum.
3. No central support email or phone number. They always want you to connect via Slack (?) or your account manager. Who changes every other month. Confusing.
4. While the NZ / AU ID flow is good. It is poorly implemented for other countries. And even though it is not a full ID check, they still charge you full price.
Overall - they are a bit greedy, and I recommend looking elsewhere. I've a superior experience, better support for over half the price somewhere else.

A car rental company requested me to go through id verification with applyid.
I was concerned that applyid will store my details for a long/ unlimited time (The legal stuff on their website is a bit 'hazy' regarding this issue with a number of caveats and lacking precision - in a spirit of typical legal way of structuring documents. I would be happy with a statement like : The longest time we store pii is [a number] days. This is clear.)
Upon contacting applyid on the phone I was informed that for such case when a car rental company requires a verification my personal identifiable information will be held by apply id for up to 7 days.
(a reference number and a first letter of my name and surname will be retained by applyid for up to 90 days I was informed - these are not pii so no risk if these get stolen)

This organisation advertised that they offer AML checks from £1.50 a 'check' on their website.
This is entirely untrue as once you enquire you are told that you do not process the amount of 'checks' required to qualify for that price and that the minimum amount of checks they can offer you is 10 a month as my firm brings in 3-5 new clients a month.
I have been informed by my current vendor that this is a unreliable sales tactic and that there are not many that would qualify for that price.
Don't waste your time. they will try to demo you to then tell you that there is a minimum commitment. In my experience it was either £37.50 or £100 a month for a minimum of 10 'checks' a month.

I've found this difficult to use. I thought I had completed the process, then get another txt asking me to verify. Some more instructions and explanations of what to do would be useful. Finally get acceptable photos but before I can check if captured details are correct, the aren't, it says goodbye. Held on phone for ages till cut off. Tried leaving a message no one called back.
Yesterday , Monday 19th, I managed to get through to technical support on two occasions. Both times I didn't have to wait for long and had helpful advice. I'll give a better review based on that. I have found my dexterity isn't good enough to capture a good enough image and my phone, a Vodafone android, can not maintain a good enough connection. Using a different phone was recommended.
