We are Appliance Shop, an independent company based in Morecambe, Lancashire. We used to be called Appliance Direct but we decided to change our name a couple of years ago as we were often confused with several other companies with very similar names! (Obviously, us appliance retailers aren't very imaginative when it comes to naming our businesses!) So, please make sure you have definitely bought from us before leaving a review. We get a lot of negative feedback from customers thinking we are another company and it's really damaging for us an independent retailer. Thank you! Our dedicated sales team have a combined sixty years experience in the trade, so you can really be sure that they really know their stuff! Don’t be afraid to ask them any questions, they’re absolutely bursting with information. Our sales advisors attend training days with Bosch, neff, siemens, Rangemaster , smeg and many many more brands, in order to make sure that they’re up to speed on the very latest products too. None of our sales staff work on a commission basis so any advice they give is honest and impartial. They will always do their best to match you up with the right product, they won't try and push something that you don't want or need. Our dedication has been recognised by a number of our suppliers. We are a Bosch Partner, Siemens Partner, Neff Accredited Retailer, Leisure Design Centre, Belling and Stoves Range Centre, Smeg Centre, Rangemaster Design Centre and a Britannia Range Cooker Centre. Ordered on Thursday delivered on Friday. 2 hour time slot given for delivery and washing machine arrived as promised in the time slot. Even got a text when we were the next delivery. Brilliant service and price was competitive as well. Old machine taken away and new one delivered into kitchen ready for fitting. Simple as that!

⭐☆☆☆☆ 1 / 5 – Rigid policy, zero flexibility, customer goodwill ignored
I ordered a Hotpoint integrated fridge-freezer (order #000043786, delivered 28 April 2025). When my fitters finally came on 19 May it became clear the appliance was too tall, so I contacted Appliance Shop three weeks after delivery to request an exchange for a smaller Hotpoint model.
The unit had never been powered on, installed or even removed from my hallway – pristine condition, still with the protective film.
I offered to pay all collection costs and a 30 % restocking / re-packaging fee.
I was ready to place (and pay for) the replacement order immediately, so the company would have made an extra sale.
Despite this, Customer Service – including their manager – replied with a flat “outside the 14-day window, no returns”. No attempt at compromise, no acknowledgement of the unused state of the product, and no goodwill gesture for a loyal customer who has bought multiple large appliances from them before.
I understand a returns policy has to exist, but most reputable retailers show at least some flexibility when the customer is offering to cover their costs and generate further business. Appliance Shop chose the shortest, most rigid interpretation possible and simply stopped the conversation.
Bottom line: if you buy from Appliance Shop, measure twice and hope nothing goes wrong. Once the calendar hits day 15, expect zero help – even if the solution would have cost them nothing and kept a returning customer happy.
I won’t be purchasing here again and will advise friends and family to look elsewhere.

Firstly I would advise when buying appliances to double check your sizes, its unfair for you to leave us a bad review for a mistake you have made. As you have placed this order on our website. Secondly you fail to mention you have completely unpacked the appliance, you mention in your review that the appliance is fully packaged this is incorrect. Thirdly the appliance has nearly been with you for four weeks unpacked, we have a 14 days returns policy to give customers a chance to look over the appliance and report (if any) issues. You would have been sent all this information via email once you have placed your order on the website. As you're a couple of weeks over this timescale we're unable to offer an exchange. We try and help every customer to the best of our ability, my best piece of advice in the future would be to double check sizes when ordering and report (if there is any) the issue straight away, not nearly a month later. I know all other retailers would not accept a return that has been with a customer unpacked for a month as well. I believe this review is very unreasonable as you're blaming us for appliance you have purchased incorrectly and left nearly month to report the issue. If you do need anything please email myself.

new washing machine
We needed a new washing machine as our old Siemens had died after 13 years. We decided on a Bosch and on visiting the store, the assistant Sam, gave us some good advice, and we were able to upgrade our choice because of the manager discount, bagged a bargain. So win win.

Order ref 196713. Ordering was easy
Ordering was easy, staff were helpful with options given for delivery or pickup. I agreed to pickup when the order arrived. I got a call within hours that they had a delivery and the model I ordered was in it so I was able to pick up straight away. That was a bonus as I had a kitchen fitter working that day.

DO NOT BUY ONLINE FROM THIS SHOP
DO NOT BUY ONLINE FROM THIS SHOP. Given a 16:00 -18:00 delivery slot which I waited in for. Had a message with a failed delivery at 16:03. No knock at the door so confusingly called courier to reschedule delivery who were happy to do so. Then received an aggressive call from the manager of the Appliance Shop demanding an additional delivery fee of £49 or they would cancel our order with an additional fee of £99! On further investigation our CCTV shows the delivery driver actually arrive at 08:43 (Over 7hrs early!). How dare the Appliance Store Manager call and make accusations and threaten charges without investigating or being willing to engage with their courier. Just hope the store manager and the team do not treat vulnerable people in this manner. Disgusting! On the other hand, the Courier company were lovely to deal with and have been very apologetic over their error. Let's see if this item now actually arrives without further unpleasant calls demanding money. The only feedback we have had from the store since is through Trustpilot asking me to remove the name of the manager from this review, even though is clearly allowed to be mentioned in other reviews...wow, very poor show! Name removed.

As explained on the phone to yourself they stated they attempted a delivery at 16.03 and had the delivery attempt time stamped at this time. While on the phone I was never threatening I was just explaining the situation, may I also add you hung up on myself and used foul language, which is not acceptable. If you explained to myself there was a delivery attempt at 8.43 I would have looked into this matter for yourself but you never stated this to myself. Again I apologise about the courier supplying myself with the wrong information but we don't accept foul language. We do our upmost to help every customer, If you do need anything please email myself.
