OnLineTraining was established in 2008 to provide flexible professional development for teaching professionals in the UK who support children and young people with special educational needs. In 2008, we began our collaboration with the Departments of Education in Australia, initially partnering with NSW to adapt our courses to suit the Australian education system. In the years that followed, our courses were implemented by the Departments of Education in all States and Territories in Australia, and many of the Catholic Dioceses and Independent Schools associations, too. Our courses are accredited by the teacher accreditation authorities, and contribute to the professional learning hours requirements for progression through the Australian Professional Standards. To date, over 140,000 participants worldwide have taken part in our courses

This course was fantastic
This course was fantastic! It allowed me to develop a thorough understanding of hearing loss, specifically with my current student in mind. I have been able to apply various strategies and develop learning goals that are now supporting my student to succeed.
Attending workshops at Tarrawanna was also very beneficial. I was able to connect with other teachers and discuss our experiences as well as ask relevant questions and receive immediate feedback!

A few FTF sessions allows discussion/collaboration to connect learning to real experiences and share the experience of our tutor.

Understanding Autism course review
I was really interested in the topic being presented and wanted to improve my teaching practise. I found the material well laid out and presented in a logical sequence which made sense. The tutor was helpful and approachable when I had questions about the material presented. Overall it was an excellent learning experience.

The course was good but it was not…
The course was good but it was not suitable for active experienced teachers. There was no new learning. Most of the activities and program suggestions are already in place through the programs our school delivers. As busy working teachers it was a huge time commitment to meet together for 3 sessions only to complete learning individually.

The online training was fantastic and a new experience for me. The content was invaluable and I was able to expand on my knowledge and the work I do with the students, along side the teachers directions. It was great to talk to fellow LDA staff and discuss goals and interventions. Each student being different with their needs, and what works and what didn't.
