AutoClub Car Rentals Almirida - Chania Airport Avis 21

I have hired cars in many countries and have only experienced such great service before. They were waiting for us as soon as we came out of terminal, took us straight to pickup our car. Took us round vehicle for inspection. Free second driver. No hassle about extra insurance,gave us price and said we could take it or leave it. When we returned car they just had a quick look round and then took us to airport in the hire car to save us time. The staff were very efficient and friendly, will certainly use them again when on Crete.

We recently hired a car for one week and were impressed with the good service. Pickup was smooth, we were quickly picked up from Chania airport by a minivan to take us to their office, only a 2-3 minute drive from the airport.

They were transparent about any pre existing damage on the car ( just some scratches) and had the opportunity to take photos of all of these.

We were able to add on additional drivers without any extra cost which was great. We were also pleased to be able to pay in cash, with no requirement of a hold on credit card details. Price of car was very reasonable.

The car ran ok, got us to and from the airport and around all the beaches Crete has to offer. Price of petrol was reasonable.

Drop off of the car was smooth, quick inspection of the car and we were on our way. No hidden charges or false claims of damage with this company.

Would recommend and use this company again!

I don't remember ever being impressed by a car rental company, but I WAS impressed by Autoclub. After reading all their good reviews here I decided to go with them, and it was the right decission.
They answered my email questions promptly and explained everything in detail. After getting the luggage, I texted them and in about 1 min. their van picked us up and took us to the (very close) office.

They had the paperwork prepared, explained all the options clearly, specially the insurance (we paid 9 €/day for full insurance without excess), and I never had that nagging sensation of being ripped off I usually have with other companies. The whole process took less than 5 min.

The car was clean, modern and we didn't have any problem with it. When returning it, it was the same. They checked the car briefly (we had full insurance afer all) and took us to the airport in the same car. Didn't even have to take the suitcases out.

My only complaint is that they gave us the car 3/4 full, and when you return it it's difficult not to overfill it a bit. I wish they used the full-to-full policy. But many other companies do the same now.

Overall, excellent company and enjoyable experience, which is a lot to say for a car rental.

If you're thinking of renting a car, then this company is the one! I have never rented a car abroad before and was slightly worried about it, but after reading some reviews of Autoclub, I thought I would go for it as we needed a car for where we were staying. Unbelievable service, no money was paid until we got to the Autoclub desk in Chania. I received a text as soon as we landed to ask what exit we were at the airport, and they came and picked us up on a mini bus and put all our luggage on the bus too. We were a party of 4, and 1 of the 4 was a toddler (2 years old). We were then transported a few mins away to the autoclub desk to receive our car. Going away with a toddler, you can have a lot more things, i.e., buggy and travel cot on top of all the luggage. I thought I had booked a reasonably sized car for this, but I hadn't, and they actually gave us one with slightly bigger boot no extra charge. You can get a child seat/ booster free of charge, too, no extra cost. You can also get a couple of extra drivers on the booking too free of charge. Also make sure you read the terms link they send regarding damage. Basically if something was to happen to the car that wasn't your fault you would have to pay 600 euro excess fee or if you pay around 50 euro there would be no excess fee. So we paid for the quote of the car that was given to us and the extra 50 euro to give us that peace of mind just in case. Unfortunately having so much luggage we couldn't get all the party in the car, but to my amazement, Autoclub offered to drive one of our party to our villa that was only 15 mins away. We offered to pay money for the lift but they did it completely free. So grateful for this I can't tell you.

The car itself was brand new automatic. It was fantastic, you could link your phone to the car and use it like you would back home. Which made the driving experience brilliant and easy.

We had no problems at all, and returned the car. They did a little inspection and put all our luggage on the minibus and returned us to the airport. 5* service from start to finish. And going above and beyond. If your looking at renting a car this company won't let you down or rip you off. Thank you so much Autoclub.

Have used AutoClub rentals twice now and it has been excellent and easy both times. Great communication at all stages. Good service at airport, picking you up from terminal and dropping you back off at the end of your trip. Friendly and helpful staff. Cars new and in good condition. No tricks. Good prices. All very straightforward. Would not bother trying any other car rental company from Chania airport

Like most I shopped around and got a great deal with Auto Club. Great communication from booking, arrived at Chania and within a few minutes were on our way in our hire car. Friendly, hassle free and easy every step. Returning the car was just as good. Highly recommend Auto Club.

I had shopped around, as I usually do, and came across AutoClub Rental, who were able to offer me the large car I wanted, at a good price. I was slightly concerned that they were asking for cash on collection, but I needn’t have worried. I had a few email conversations with them prior to our holiday, and they always answered quickly. I took out an extra insurance to cover the excess, again as I always do. We were met at the airport, and I went to sort the car while my family got the bags. Very smooth process. They didn’t have the car advertised, and what we got was a little smaller, but it was suitable for us anyway.
Returning the car was also a smooth process with them checking over the car before dropping us back at the airport. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent, friendly service at a great price. We were greeted at arrivals and driven the short drive to the office to collect vehicle. No issues throughout holiday and a quick and simple drop off at the end of the holiday. Will definitely use again.

Shopped around for hire cars on Crete, admittedly four months before our holiday. Auto Club were the best value with a relatively small excess, compared to others. Their hire price actually temporarily dropped in the meantime and they didn’t quibble on matching it. A rep was waiting for us at Chania airport arrivals and it was only a minute’s minibus drive to the Auto Club depot and we were on the road in our Toyota Aygo ten minutes later. No problems whatsoever with our hire car during our fortnight’s holiday. We opted to pay the extra premium in order to reduce the excess to zero just to give ourselves complete peace of mind.

Great service. Agent waiting at airport. 2 minute drive to collect very good car with satnav, radio, etc. 2 weeks trouble free motoring. Very polite and helpful staff. Very competitive rates. Shall certainly use AutoClub again.

Faultless transaction. We were met at the airport arrivals hall by a very bubbly and happy young lady and our Fiat Tipo was directly outside, clean and ready to go. (I am 6'05" tall and the car was ideal!)
We were driven to the Car Hire Office (which was only a couple of hundred yards away) and then off on our holiday. (If you pay cash then you can just drive away from the sirport but we paid by card and the card machine was at the office.)
We had to extend the car hire by a day due to the ridiculous situation with the airlines cancelling our return flight but this was not a problem. We dropped the car back to the office and were given a lift to the Terminal. It was baking hot outside!
I can't fault the service. The car was returned with the same amount of petrol we picked it up with. The transaction was speedy and efficient.
A big thanks to the staff. I'd certainly recommend this Car Hire Company.
