During my educational journey of postgraduate diploma I faced several challenges, particularly with the initial assignments. In general the course is quite demanding and required many hours of study. This can make it difficult for those who are working full-time alongside their studies. Personally, I had to request extensions several times; however, this experience helped me develop resilience in handling high workloads and extensive study hours, a skill I consider invaluable for professional growth.Regarding the program content, I gained substantial knowledge, both theoretically and in the design aspect, which further enhanced my skills. Additionally, the instructors were very supportive and provided continuous guidance, while the administrative staff were always willing to offer assistance and help whenever needed.
Overall, despite the challenges, the experience was highly constructive and contributed to strengthening my perseverance, self-discipline, and resilience .
I highly recommend it to those who want to deepen their knowledge and strengthen their endurance!!!
As a busy mum to a 2 year old, the flexibility of this course is very accommodating. The support has been faultless, before and after enrolling. I am a prime example of someone who will put something off. But I’m so glad I have chosen my new career path with BAID. It’s been a dream for many years which is now becoming a reality. I’m extremely grateful for the Merit grading I’ve received on my first assignment, and the amazing feedback. I am so excited to continue this course. I highly recommend!

Very helpful staff and clear lessons and modules
I have just completed the online Diploma, which I really enjoyed and has given me a number of skills and things to consider that I would not otherwise have learned; it also gives you materials for a portfolio, should you want to go into interior design professionally.
I found it a struggle to work through the course while I was also working full-time, as some of the assignments are very in-depth and require a lot of work, so it took me about two years to complete the first 40% of the course. I then took a sabbatical and completed the remaining 60% in four months, working roughly full-time on it. So I'd say that the 6-12 months completion time suggested by BAID is ambitious. However, I always received super quick responses from my tutors and student services, which was really helpful.
Some of the online reference materials are also really useful, although some are slightly confusingly-written and inconsistent. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and educational mix of academic research and practical skills, but students should be prepared to dedicate a lot of time and effort in order to get the best results.
When I first started this course, I thought I’d have all the time in the world. But life has a way of keeping you on your toes especially when you’re newly married, learning how to navigate life with your husband, and renovating an old, abandoned farmhouse all at once!
Looking back, I can honestly say that this course couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve been able to apply so much of what I’ve learnt directly to our home renovation, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see my ideas come to life. Putting theory into practice has helped me grow in confidence and refine my own unique design style. I’ve discovered the colour palettes I naturally gravitate toward, and I’ve learnt that stepping out of my comfort zone with new colours and materials isn’t as intimidating as I once thought.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learnt is not to underestimate this course. It’s comprehensive and detailed, each unit builds thoughtfully on the last and for good reason. The fundamentals you learn early on truly form the foundation for everything that follows, so taking the time to understand them well is essential.
While the workload can be quite a lot, it’s absolutely worth it. The flexibility of the course makes it manageable, even during busy seasons of life. The timeframe allows room for balance, you can take a break when needed and still catch up without feeling overwhelmed. I’ve found that taking things slowly and steadily really does pay off in the end.
Overall, this course has been a deeply valuable and enriching experience. It’s not only helped me develop my skills as an interior designer but also allowed me to see my personal growth through the creative process. I’m truly grateful for the journey so far and excited to continue building on everything I’ve learnt.
I have learnt so much during my time studying at BAID. The units are varied, engaging, and are designed to help with every aspect of the subject. I have also been really impressed with the help and support from my tutor. Thank you!
Studying with the British Academy of Interior Design (BAID) has been an incredible experience! Even though I took the online courses, I always felt fully supported. The tutors and teachers were highly professional, responsive, and always available to guide me whenever I needed help or feedback.
I’ve learned so much — not only about design theory and practical skills, but also about how to think creatively and approach every project with confidence and professionalism.
Thank you so much, BAID, for providing such a high-quality learning experience and for helping me grow both personally and professionally. I’m truly grateful to be part of this inspiring community! 💫
This course is ideal for anyone prepared to put in time to do additional research and learning in order to complete their assignments. The course content is a starting point and gives general information but you do have to do a lot of additional work in order to fully understand the concepts and application.
If you can afford more, you may find a better course with better course material so do compare courses. But I chose BAID based on flexibility and affordability and I'm delighted to have achieved my Diploma successfully as a result.
My day to day tutor was supportive, quick to respond to any queries and provided guidance any time I needed.
My online tutor brought life to the content in weekly sessions with real world use, I found the discussions invaluable in the early days when I felt overwhelmed by the size of the diploma work. However, I wish the lessons had more clearly aligned with the modules, it felt as if everything was separate as there was little reference to which module that lesson correlated to.
The assignments gave a really good broad application of learning and a great way to show your development and creativity.
The course content images are all AI generated and need to be changed for real images. They failed to help me grasp concepts. At worst they confused me as to what a particular concept would look like in practice. The text was AI too at a guess and repetitive. Not so bad for anyone like me that needs to be drip fed over and over for things to stick. I fed back to BAID about the AI images over 6 months ago and was told there would be an overhaul but that's not happened and it would be a main criticism of the course. I sent multiple emails to follow up but none got a response.
So for anyone reading this it means the text might say something like "a designer needs to consider X and Y when laying out a living room plan" but then FAILED to show you a good example of an X/Y. My suggestion was they show us a "good" example of X/Y then a "poor" example of an X/Y. But all we got was a ridiculous AI image that made no sense at all. In fact if I had to label it I'd say it was a "poor" example each time.
So in summary to others - this is a great course if you understand you need to do a lot yourself in addition. It provides structure and a framework that I found really useful.
I think the timings they suggest to complete the tasks is underestimated. But for me that was ok as I wanted to take the time to research and understand and do the best I could on each assignment so that I knew I was really learning and improving.
I believe the program is inquisitive, research-oriented, and has a solid foundation in its assessments. It's a program that encourages me to think more effectively on many topics, and I can say that it's been very beneficial to my professional development.
I am thoroughly enjoying my BA Degree in Interior Design. The Staff are always readily available should I need any help or support.
Studying at British academy of Interior Design has truly been a great experience! The tutors are helpful, super supportive in guiding you on how to complete each task!
The free flow of the course and it’s delivery is superb, you get wholly engrossed with the tasks as you learn without knowing what dept you have learnt until you start seeing yourself unconsciously speaking the relevant language and discussing things that have been inscribed into your subconscious unknowingly. It’s a place to learn many things despite feeling like it’s happening too fast.
Fantastic lecturers, tutors and wonderful support system. It really is up to the student to direct the pace of their studies, but the more you put in, the more you get out. Special thanks to Eleanor and Rozan, who were super supportive, always happy to help and guide and provided insightful feedback every step of the way. Would highly recommend the Post Grad Diploma to anyone wishing to begin a career in Interior Design.
They are very supportive and took a prompt flexible action for me.
I attended a diploma course from 2023 to 2025. The course encompasses all the essential skills required to become an interior designer. The tutors are helpful, and their markings are fair and precise. Some of the lessons are a bit hard and rushed, as there are many tasks in just one assignment, but it helped me to overcome pressure in real life.
As a busy mom juggling family responsibilities and my studies, I truly appreciate how well-designed this course is. The structure allows me to learn at my own pace and complete assignments without feeling overwhelmed or adding stress to my already hectic schedule. The flexibility and support provided make it possible for me to pursue my education while managing everything else in my life. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a quality learning experience that fits into a busy lifestyle!
My experience with this course has been satisfying and insightful. I have learnt a lot and discovery skills I didn’t know I had.
It has helped to be creative and think outside the box
This is a top flight training course for people who want to work in the interior design industry. It’s a good combination of theory and practice. I’m six months into a two-year programme that’s a combination of in-person, classroom sessions and online learning. It’s useful to know that that in-person and online are complementary but don’t follow the same syllabus. If you can afford it, I’d recommend adding the in-person training. It added lots of context to the online curriculum. As for the online, it’s well structured and has encouraged me to do additional research into art and architecture to sharpen my insights and historical perspective. So far, so good. It’s a lot of hard work but you get out if it what you put in. The BAID tutors and student services team are responsive and professional. Highly recommend.
I enrolled for the online version and realised that the course content is created using generative AI, so lacks depth, is repetitive, and gives weird advice like "think about the season when choosing a colour scheme" like...the seasons change in the UK lol how often do you think clients are going to redecorate?
This nonsense is of course complete with weird "photos" that have lamps bleeding into the walls and rugs that suddenly disappear. I'm shocked at the good reviews but maybe the content was once good and got replaced.
good pace, good material, good task questions, nothing to complain about!
