Its great especially the student services team and tutors. But just one thing is needed to make the home study more engaging is to put more interactive videos instead of all the theory that is not practical and too much reading!

The academy has provided me with the knowledge and skills to design from scratch, as well as the ability to deeply understand and incorporate client requests into my work.

I’ve also learned a variety of design techniques, and overall, I have truly loved the experience!

Since registering for the Interior Design Diploma , I am impressed with the quality of the course content. I felt it was concise and clear and also encouraged me to research online for design styles, trends, materials etc. My tutor helped me with guidance on where to find reliable suppliers, design sites and general help on various topics. The feedback I received was very timely and detailed which helped me to improve continuously.

Really enjoying the course. Tutors and Student services are always quick to respond if help is needed.

I did a lot of research before enrolling. I was not looking for an easy, quick course. To stand out in my area, I needed a more in-depth knowledge and skills. Some of the modules were not easy, there was a lot of research involved. I had my ups and downs. I finished my NHC and just started my own interior design business. Comparing my knowledge with some of my competitors, I am much more prepared to answer clients' questions. Sketchup was included in one of the modules, but I had to learn that on my own in my spare time. As many interior designers in my area cannot do 2D, 3D images or technical drawings, I am standing out again.
Overall, it is not an easy course, but if you are prepared to work hard, you will get a lot of knowledge and skills for your next journey.

Excellent tutor guidance and detailed responses. My tutor Eleanor is really helpful, kind, and is always quick to reply! The course is very detailed and informative, and covers all backgrounds and context for the full experience. I am always made to feel that I can reach out and ask for help when I need to, which particularly helps when I get caught on the specifications of an assignment task or a heading within a module.

Teachers are very supportive, understanding, and always available! The content of the course is very rich and well-organized. I am very happy with my course.

As I near the end of my higher national diploma with the British Academy of Interior Design, I can honestly say it has been an amazing experience.
I went for the study at home path, which came with its challenges. Studying independently requires a lot of discipline and self-motivation, and there were times where it was difficult. However, I’ve received a lot support and guidance from tutors, who were always helpful whenever I reached out with questions or requested feedback.
On the other side, the flexibility of home study allowed me to work at my own pace and helped me secure a position as a junior interior designer while still studying. Being able to apply what I was learning at work gave me a deeper understanding of the industry and helped with my growth both professionally and personally.
I’ve also noticed a number of improvements and updates to the course in the past year, which have made a huge difference and improved the overall learning experience.
While balancing work and study wasn’t always easy, the experience has been very rewarding. I’m grateful for the opportunities this course has opened up for me and would recommend it to anyone looking for a flexible, yet comprehensive path into interior design.

The course has been an excellent opportunity to stretch my creativity to its fullest potential! I have enjoyed the course and every unit has been engaging and challenging. I'd like to say a massive thank you to my wonderful Tutor Fiona Kensington! She has been nothing but supportive, considerate, extremely helpful and most importantly made my journey through this course really fun! So thank you Fiona for all of your support! I would also like to mention a few other tutors such as Rute, Joanna, Rita and Catarina! You have all been excellent! However I feel as if one tutor in particular made me doubt my potential (Leonor Cicio). I also thought the amount of times I went to the classroom based learning part did not amount up to the money that this cost. By the time I was on an assignment, It was long past since I went so I feel that there could have been more in person learning for the money. I have also been incredibly pleased with how helpful the student services has been throughout my course, especially Andrea! She has always been so helpful and very quick at responding which is always so helpful. But overall, I have been very pleased with the course in general and the postgraduate diploma has been very in depth in learning.

I had the pleasure of working with Catarina, and I couldn’t be more impressed. She is knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly supportive. She’s always takes the time to explain the material when I need assistance. Highly recommend!

My experience so far has been fantastic. I’m really enjoying this course. It has been very challenging but I feel like I am learning a lot, especially seeing as I’ve come from a zero experience background! Rita has been a great tutor, really helping me achieve the best I can.

Overall I’ve really enjoyed the course and learned a lot, it’s definitely a professional course and the standards are quite high for passing each assignment, but there is lots of guidance and support. Would recommend

So far, I have found that I am learning so much from the course. I am a complete novice, so it has been a big learning curve for me, but there is a lot of information to support me and my studies.

As a novice, it can feel a bit overwhelming to move from the learning elements to the actual assignment, which can often feel like a big jump, especially when there are no examples to reference.

The best update during the course was the introduction of the 'tutor feedback' step before submitting an assignment. For some of the bigger assignments, especially, it felt like we were producing a large volume of work without really knowing if we were on the right track until we submitted and discovered where we were going wrong—getting a fail was a bit demoralising. Therefore, this new step has helped the process immensely.

Tutor feedback and the live video calls (I would love more of these per unit!) are invaluable to the learning process and have been so helpful.

It would be great to have more learning elements per unit, too. The written elements provided are good but it would be great to have a mix, as everybody learns differently. Perhaps more video content or even live lectures that can be accessed via Zoom, etc.

I have only just started this course and I’m working completely from home. The enrolment process was straight forward and I have been allocated a tutor, Catarina Viseu, who has been extremely helpful so far and quick at responding. Thank you Catarina!

I do enjoy my studying experience with BA of Interior Design, so much to learn, but really deep understanding for sure, worth it.

I gave this course 5 stars last year, but after 1.5 years, I feel I need to adjust my rating to be more fair. I’m in my second year of the Higher National Diploma, and while the tutors are amazing and super supportive, I’ve realized that’s not enough on its own.

The self-study structure doesn’t always align with what’s expected in assignments. Every assignment requires a lot of research—pages and pages—and sometimes, even that isn’t enough. You have to dig deep for fine details on your own, which can be overwhelming. The practical side is there, but not as much as I expected—I'm on Assignment 9, and while I’ve done some hands-on work like plan drawings, it’s not as extensive as I thought it would be.

My advice after 1.5 years:

Start small. Don’t jump straight into the Higher National Diploma. Try a smaller course first, and if you feel comfortable, then go for more.
Make sure you have time. If you can’t dedicate at least 4 hours a day, this course will be a challenge.
Be ready for independent research and writing. If that’s not your strong suit, it might not be the best fit.
If you’re dyslexic, think twice. The amount of reading, writing, and self-directed learning can be tough.
It’s a solid course, but it’s important to know what you’re getting into!

Having been passionate to divert into interior design,BAID was indeed the best option amongst all and right from the inquiry all been smooth, the IN charges have been helpful and flexible with timely responses-Joao F was so helpful when i inquired about the course and encouraged me as well,and i was so impressed with all the payment options available plus a free decision to drop out with 100% refund after 1/2 lessons should one feel like not anymore though not me-The thursday online classes are so beneficial,the moderator is really nice and brings it all to reality,My personal tutor Catarina has been so helpful as well and understanding amidst this transition.so far so good and i would definately recommend anyone to take the chance.

At the start of the course, the tutor wasn’t helpful, which made me lose interest. Now, with my new tutor, Catarina, things have changed. She has been fantastic, answering all my questions and making everything clearer. Thank you Catarina, I finally feel like I’m making progress with my assignments!
