This is a review for the Hucknall branch.
I had been looking for a property to rent and just couldn't find anywhere suitable in the area I wanted. In the end I viewed a property that was slightly out of area but once there it was not for me. Jodie immediately picked up on the fact that the property was not suited to me and remembered a property that had just come up, in the area I was after. I viewed it the same day, loved it and consequently moved in.
I cannot thank Jodie enough for all that she has done for me. She is amazing and intuitively knows her clients wants and needs. An absolutel star!

Bairstoweve Walthamstow branch recently arranged a new rented property for me. They include a clause whereby your energy supplier become OVO automatically upon signing the tenancy unless you request not to. I requested a different supplier and they ignored me, seemingly on purpose because OVO pays them commission.

They have refused to apologise or take responsibility for providing my data to OVO who set up an account in my name without contacting me until 9 days into the tenancy. Luckily a small amount of money is owed but it’s incredibly unethical. OVO recently were forced by Ofgem to pay £2.4M in damages for its treatment of customers and incorrectly assessed bills.

Avoid Bairstoweve Walthamstow and other branches if you can: they broke their own contract terms and wont acknowledge it.

Bairstoweves recently acted on my behalf for the sale of my property. I had an overall good experience with the staff who were great at attracting potential buyers. Staff were professional, friendly and supportive all the way through to completion. Thank you Ian, Ellie, Edina, Vasco, Scott and all the Team at Bairstoweves Stratford for all your help, much appreciated! Joy (and Nicky)

Biggest mistake ever made using this Estate Agent. They overpriced my house and when it became obvious they did not contact me to discuss the situation. They failed to respond to any of my emails or messages. Do not use this company

Bairstow Eves branch which was about 20 yards away from the flat for sale failed 3 times to attend viewings .
The first viewing the agent failed to turn up at all and it was only by chance I was in the property and a friend allowed them access to the building , subsequently on the second visit the sales agent called the buyer to confirm the visit and because she didnt get a reply failed to turn up for the viewing . The same agent forgot to arrange another agent to attend the final viewing as she was not available .
Luckily the buyer called into the office and someone let her in although he didnt know the key safe code or position .
I handled all the communication between the buyer and myself as well as my solicitor .
Subsequently the office closed and I was randomly called by the new agent to check how things were proceeding .
Really didnt need them anyway as the person buying the flat was a friend of a resident but I had already signed with Bairstows before I was made aware of it .

If you want to sell your house with a company who acts more for the purchaser than for you - who is the one actually paying them - then choose Bairstow Eves. Terrible communication, terrible service and useless marketing. I cannot recommend avoiding them highly enough (Folkestone branch). Never again. Avoid at all costs!

They don't come more insincere than this. You're better off requesting estate agent change than risk wasting your time and scarce resources dealing with Bairstow eves. You will put yourself in limbo dealing with them. Stay clear!

Hi just wanted to say that the team at the east Croydon branch have been great especially Adam who’s assisted me through the whole process with prompt and clear information an asset to the business many thanks Rocco

The agency have unlawfully withheld my deposit for nearly 1 month despite no dispute with my landlord. The agency have admitted fault with the deposit scheme twice. I have been left financially vulnerable and every time I contact them, I get told “another 3-5 days” - and they ignore emails!

Appalling customer service? 2 properties were placed with bairstow eves...after only 4 weeks because they failed to advise us properly both properties were taken off sale...its was only after 3 weeks that another agent enquired if we had sold them and told us they were no longer advertised? They also told us the agents woukd have been notified several times begore they were taken off the websites but they failed to do anything in fact denied they had rcvd these communications..so in fact they did nothing with either properties for nearly 4 weeks by the time they got back to me!! Then after a supposed viewing at one house they left it unlocked with front door ajar...a serious security risk..oops
Then after I discussed a reduction on one house they reduced the wrong house by 45k ?? No one questioned this?? no red flags?? and no one wondered why there were loads of enquiries??? As if anyone reduces a low priced property by 45k??? Maybe 5k or even 10k I confirmed the property prices again and they were amended but also asked for confirmation on viewings that were based on correct prices...Needless to say...someone called me to check if I was at the house for an 11.15am viewing AT 11.07AM!!!!! no I replied I'm not and pointed out the timings
She then said...Well I was called at 10am and asked to call you...so she obviously didn't think it was important so left it until 7 minutes begore the viewing!!! It only gets worse and worse...she was then shocked we could not make it And was quite offhand as if if this was actually my fault and NOT their complete incompetence. Since then they are ignoring emails and letter and can only assume they hope I go away

I have received excellent service from the Bairstow Eves lettings team (Nottingham) over a period of many years. Finding fantastic tennants and providing invaluable advice to me as a landlord on the current local rental market.
Nadines local knowledge is excellent and communication is always easy, pleasant and helpful.
I've appreciate that someone at Bairstow Eves always answers the phone and helps out, which is definitely not the case with other local letting agencies.

We have finally moved in to our perfect home which is a big thank you to Tegan she went above and beyond to get us this house and we can’t thank her enough. She is so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. What a credit she is to your company. Thank you so much Tegan. Xx

Had a pleasant and warm experience with the Bairstowes team in Nottingham central recently. Keiran Shaw was fantastic in ensuring a smooth end in our previous property and was on top of things in helping us secure our new home. His prompt updates especially regarding uncontrollable delays, his patience in answering all our questions, industry knowledge, and professionalism were quite commendable. We’re glad to have found our new home and are currently settling in.
As returning customers with Bairstowes after almost 4 years, it’s safe to say we have only had amazing and warm experiences with the team at Nottingham.

I would like to write a review for Bairstow Eves letting. I have nothing but praise for the team Jason, Jessica, Clairessa, and particularly Freddie. As a new landlord they were excellent and attentive to all my requirements, they helped me through the process of letting a property for me. A five star review is easy to give.

Disappointing Experience with Unprofessional Service

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Sam at Bairstow Eves, and I must say it was far from pleasant. From the outset, I found her to be quite rude and dismissive. Despite my efforts to remain polite and respectful, she seemed to take offense when I asked clarifying questions about the services offered.

It was clear that Sam lacked the training and experience necessary to handle client inquiries effectively. Each time I challenged her responses, she became defensive rather than engaging in a constructive conversation. It’s disheartening to encounter such unprofessionalism, especially in an industry where good communication and customer service are essential.

It's a shame, as I believe there are many individuals who would excel in this role and provide the level of service that clients deserve. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a potential client.

I hope the agency takes this feedback seriously and invests in the proper training for their staff to ensure a better experience for future clients

A professional and friendly property lettings service from start-to-finish.

I had an awful experience with this company. Their service is appalling—high staff turnover, no returned calls or emails, constant chasing for payments, and endless delays for repairs. I signed a one-year fully managed contract with insurance and zero deposits, yet payments were late for the first three months, and communication was virtually nonexistent.

My tenant left a month early in August 2024, and despite repeatedly chasing the insurance (Zero Deposits) for the owed rent and damages, I was only informed today—five months later—that the adjudication resulted in just £50. No explanation was provided, despite my submission of invoices for rent arrears, breakages, and deep cleaning.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid this company at all costs—they are an absolute disgrace.

Cant thank the team enough at the Mansfield Branch, they worked well on the sale of our property and had great communication throughout. There were difficult times but the team kept pushing for that sale. Absolutely recommend and would 100% use again.
