I am 73 years old and foolishly trusted…

I am 73 years old and foolishly trusted a JOSEPH ABEL at this company over the phone to negotiate settlements with credit cards that I had gotten behind on. He made it sound like because they had “relationships” with the named card companies he could settle all the accounts at a discount and I would pay them $700 a month fixed for 52 months and all would be closed. After signing electronically authorization to represent me I checked and found out they were rated 2.4 by the Better Business Bureau. I decided to cancel tge next day. He had said I could “cancel anytime” and provided a tel number and email address. That was 2 weeks ago. He has never responded to calls or emails since and I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. These are shysters. Avoid them obviously. They hit and run.The other name they are using now is Palm Haven Lending. They claim they will collect your money through “Aspire Law Group”. Only two listings could be found for that. One in Atlanta replied and said they had gotten many complaints like mine but did not represent either “Lending” entity. The other was in Michigan and never replied to me.

I keep getting unsolicited phone calls…

I keep getting unsolicited phone calls from them about a loan I have been pre-approved for. When I talk to a person, I tell them to take me off their call list. The person at the other end then hangs up on me. This has happened twice.

Also, their website claims to have a 4.8/5 Trustpilot rating. That is not correct! I hope someone from Trustpilot sees this!

Do NOT work with these guys

Complete liars and scammers that will be nice to you over the phone. Henry is the one I talked to and kept "making mistakes" so that I'd have to sign multiple contracts because the "name was wrong" (false). I signed 3 contracts. He said 1st two were immediately voided. In California, you can void a contract within 3 days if you have buyers remorse. Voided the final contract a few hours after learning how these companies work (completely ruin your credit. Find ANY other way to handle your debt. Even a loan is better). Anyway, a couple days later I get emails that an account has been setup and "everything is good to go." Excuse me? The contracts had indeed NOT been voided. So had to freeze payments with another company and eventually completely cancel everything. Stay away.

Total scam

Total scam, falsely displays a 5-star trust-pilot score on their website, asks for banking info without any contractual agreements. Spam calls 5+ times/day. Stay away.

Potential Scam

The representative said it was a debt consolidation loan and not debt settlement. Everything sounded good until they asked for my banking information without a formal contract or payment agreement for my review and signature. They only provided an email listing my debts and monthly payment. When I refused to provide my banking information without contract the representative disconnected the call.

I keep getting calls from them

I keep getting calls from them. This is NOT a legit group. There website does not even disclose their address or phone numbers for customer support. Stay away from them. I have asked to be on their do not call no less than 20 times. If someone has their address please send it as I will be suing for harassment.

Better Path Lending IS A SCAM!!

Better Path Lending has a man named Brian Adams representing the program offered by a place called Resync, who does not answer calls or email. They say it is not a debt mgmt place and you see ‘Funding’ listed but it all comes down to destroying your credit even further. Reliant is the place that takes your money for them and claims to not know that person or that place-so BEWARE of all 3-RELIANT account mgmt, RESYNC aka ‘the program’ and BETTER PATH LENDING. They do not repair your credit but take 4-6 of your monies that you are told will be there in a savings for when they make settlements. They told my parents one thing and then bait and switched it by the time it came to signing. Within an hour of receiving the papers, we cancelled. Now nobody (except Reliant) is answering. BETTER PATH LENDING AND RESYNC have ‘ghosted’ us now. No money better leave my bank acct on the 29th. 👌Beware of all 3 and Brian Adams.

NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR PHONE NUMBER!

WARNING! DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR PHONE NUMBER! I receive at least ten calls a day from this lender and their many affiliates. Unsubscribing on the automated system does not work. Unsubscribing with a live agent does not work. They always call from different numbers so blocking is ineffective. They ring my phone all day long every day and I can’t make it stop. No legitimate company pushes this hard for a sale or harasses people to such an extreme degree.

Red Flags everywhere

During our conversation, I could almost follow a list of sales tactics. Starting with developing a rapport, establishing trust, listening, and understanding needs. You did a good job understanding my needs and handling objections well. What you lost me on was probably the whole “we should be able to get this done tonight” line. This is indicative of a higher-pressure tactic. By creating a sense of urgency, you discount my desire to think things over.

I have previously put my name and all contact information on the national ‘do not call’ registry, but I still received calls from your company. The voicemails suggest a $60k debt consolidation loan for $450 a month. The terms you sent are nowhere near these numbers. It’s half the ‘loan’ for twice the monthly payment. This is suspiciously similar to bait and switch or false advertising.

Below are links to some information that I found (or lack thereof) on “Better Path Lending”. Your company might consider hiring someone better to do the website. Your website says that you have a “trust score” of 4.8/5, but your company doesn’t show up on the Trustpilot website. You say that you’ve funded over a billion dollars and served more than 10000 customers since 2020, but all the information I can find shows that your company isn’t old enough to support this information.

Better Path Lending - Do not trust or believe what you are told.

Max Francis, Head of Lending Operations (per his signature on emails) misrepresented debt consolidation with his company. He insisted that it wasn't debt settlement, but rather consolidation over and over. When I was attempting to read through the contract, he kept talking, telling me that it would just confuse things. I was stupid and trusted him, ignoring the things that I was concerned about. When I called the law office listed on the contract, I was informed that they were a settlement company, not consolidation. Max Francis at Better Path Lending misrepresented the facts, and I was stupid.
