I really enjoyed the social opportunities with Beyond Academy, as it allowed me to connect with other interns going through similar experiences. Before the program, I struggled to make friends while studying Korean, but here, I quickly made lasting connections. The staff was incredibly helpful, always quick to respond and easy to talk to. As for work, I was lucky with my company—they were kind and supportive, and everyone spoke English. My commute was also simple, just 25 minutes with two transfers. While other interns had different experiences, it's worth noting that travel times and work environments can vary. Overall, Beyond Academy provided an enriching experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional and social internship abroad!

The experience that I had in Seoul was incredible as I had the pleasure of meeting amazing people along the way and was able to gain valuable work experience that will help me moving forward. The community team were amazing and made settling in super easy, while the events were also interesting and fun. I will always be grateful for the time that I spent in Seoul and will carry amazing memories with me forever.

During my Summer Internship in Barcelona, I met lots of new people and got to experience a fast-paced work environment at a start up company. I would highly reccomend this experience if you’re looking to gain your confidence in Spanish speaking or improve your CV. The only fault I would have with this programe is you may not experience as much in depth work as you may have expected, however, at my company there was always opportunity to ask for more work and gain more knowledge by being in consistent contact with my bosses and communicating with the Beyond team aswell!

I had an amazing time in London as a marketing intern. While I didn't have to travel too far (from Scotland) it was still my first time in London and I was nervous for what my time there would entail. But the Beyond staff were with me every step of the way and were so helpful and unbelievably kind. My internship taught me a lot of transferable skills that I believe will be essential in getting me my first graduate job and the people I worked with were lovely. My accomodation was super conveniently located and I could be pretty much anywhere in London in under an hour! In addition to all of these things and the tourist-y stuff I did on my own, Beyond organised tons of trips around London from taco Tuesday nights to cocktail bars, food tours, and west end shows! A lot of these events were covered in the programme and it was so useful when I was struggling to come up with ideas of what to do with my weekends or evenings, as a lot of the events I would never have thought of or found out about myself. One thing I loved as well was when they asked me if I had anything I wanted to do in London when I first got there and I said I really wanted to go to the David Attenborough show in the Natural History Museum. Well the very next day I get a text saying they've managed to arrange it as a Beyond trip and that it will be fully covered by them! This is just one example of how people-focused Beyond is, and how much the coordinators - Izzy, Nicole, Abela, and Naomi - genuinely care about making sure you have the time of your life on this programme. They were always just a text away, happy to answer any questions I had and always checked up on me about my internship to make sure I was still enjoying it and didn't have any issues. Overall, I really recommend using Beyond Academy as it really cuts a ton of stress about finding an internship and sorting accommodation etc. While also giving you the full cultural experience of the city you're in and facilitating you meeting the loveliest people! If I was still in uni and had the money, I'd absolutely do it again next year!

I think that the thing that made this program the best was the sheer amount of support it provided. The program worked tirelessly in the beginning stages to secure me with an internship in my desired field (business and marketing) in my desired location (London). Once I they found me a placement the team worked with me every step of rhe way to secure a visa and travel accommodations.

Once I arrived in London the community team went above and beyond to support all of the interns in the area. From life advice to working advice no expense was spared to ensure that we were able to have a safe environment to discuss anything that could be on our minds. The program also provided 1 free group and 1:1 session with a career coach for specific career related concerns.

The only downside to this program is that most of the internships are unpaid and cost of the program itself pretty high. Not to mention rhe fact that all expenses during your program are covered by you outside of rent and utilities (covered in the accommodation fee). However, the experience and support DEFINITELY out weigh the costs.

I joined Beyond Academy for an 8-week internship in New York City, and was very be happy with the experience. They arranged everything for me – from my internship placement to accommodation in Brooklyn. The internship itself was engaging, and I was lucky to work with such supportive and friendly people. Beyond Academy also organized weekly activities, which made it easy to explore the city and connect with others on the program. I met people from all over the world, many of whom I’m still in touch with. Overall, it was a well-organized and rewarding program, and I’d recommend it.

I loved the experience in Tokyo with Beyond Academy. The company I worked with was very friendly and the experience was definitely worth it! I really liked that there are fun events arranged every week, where you can make new friends from different backgrounds and the staff is always going to be supportive and kind!

Beyond Academy eases you into traveling to a country by yourself. You never feel lonely during the program since there is such a strong sense of community. They are almost always there to offer you help, and you can meet some extraordinary people.

I found Beyond Academy to be a super helpful experience for both my social life and career. Through my internship, I have a better idea of what I want to do and decided on the industry I’d pursue. Additionally, I met many great, unique people that taught me a lot about ambition and work-life balance. However, the program was sloppy and unorganized at times. In the beginning, I was urged to pay a lot of money before I met with the instructor, which I didn’t feel comfortable with. While I got lucky with my internship, my friends got internships where they didn’t really do anything all day, and one of them had to go to an apartment for her office. I think putting in more effort to screen companies as well as trying to get better internships would go a long way. Despite the shortcomings, I want to stress that the program was a great learning opportunity, and I feel more ambitious and self-sufficient as a result.

A BASIC THOUGHTLESS COMPANY...WAISTED OVER $3000 ON THIS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM. NO HELP FROM STAFF TO OFFER ALTERNATIVES AS MY TABLET CAMERA WASN'T WORKING PROPERLY. THEY STATE I WASN'T PREPERED FOR THE INTERVIEW WITH THE HOST COMPANIES, WHICH IS FALSE. I WAS PREPARED, I ASKED CAN WE MAKE ALTERNATIVE ARRAGNGMENTS DUE TO THE DIFFIFCUTLTIES, BUT THEY HAVEN'T MANAGED OFFER ME SOLUTIONS TO THIS PROBELM I WAS FACING. THEY DON'T WANT TO REFUND MY MONEY THAT THEY STOLE....MY PARENTS ARE ANGRY AT THEIR DECISION

My time in Barcelona with Beyond Academy was a truly remarkable experience. I got to live in an amazing city, surrounded by the beach and the vibrant Spanish and Catalan culture. To me, the most memorable parts of the program are all the friendships I made and the great nightlife! Our community coordinator Isabel was like a big sister, always ready to help, and organized fun events we all enjoyed a lot - often with drinks and meals included. We all felt very well guided and it enhanced our experience a lot. The internship itself was very insightful and helped me in my professional growth, gave me insights into new industries, and I learned a lot. I also made valuable professional connections and felt like I had a good life-work-balance in Barcelona as well! Our accommodation was nice, with a view of the Sagrada Família. However, there was a very big hidden fee for the use of AC (which is very necessary in Barcelona), that was not properly communicated and not listed in the accommodation contract we all signed. Overall, the program is also a bit expensive for what you get. And you have to be really specific with the Beyond Academy staff who are responsible for role matching with your host company. They were sometimes inattentive to my requests, and you have to be very specific about what you do and do not want!! They’ll also try to push you into roles you’re not really interested in. I did end up finding a great host company, though.

You would never have this chance or time in your life to explore all these beautiful and interesting adventures!

I had a lovely time with Beyond Academy! My accommodation was great and loved the people I lived with in our ShareHouse. The Beyond Academy team was so insightful and responsive! My internship was not the best fit but I had a great time regardless! Can’t recommend Beyond Academy enough.

The Community Team helped us experience the city and gave us any internal support we needed if there was issues with our internships or our housing. They made it a great experience. The city of Barcelona is great to live in and there are many small business internship opportunities. Go to as many events as you can because you will get to meet people and explore the city!

Beyond Academy is helping you to find a job in your field. Afterwards, they are sending all the information needed for your departure. During the program, there are coordinators, who are ready to answer and assist with any question you could possibly ask. Every Thursday and Sunday (sometimes also Saturday) there are events, organized by Beyond Academy, which are basically helping you shape your social life as well as give a chance to explore the city as a local. Tokyo was an amazing destination for a summer internship - full of people and new experiences. It is a challenge to have even a single boring day.
