unbelievably bad
unbelievably bad, if there was any accountability they all would be sacked. The whole system is designed so its next to impossible to get through to anyone. And if you were 'lucky' enough to do so, the person you end up speaking with doesn't have a clue. I would sack 90% of them in a heart beat.
You could make a complaint, but as they don't respond to that either for 28 days then good luck with whatever you are trying to get sorted.
Been taking my recycling to the tip for…
Been taking my recycling to the tip for nearly 2 years now. Before these problems was told by the council I could not have a bigger bin in my house of 6 people but they would give me an extra recycling bin instead. The council are a disappointment.
If you didn't have mental health issues, you will after dealing with BCC
The absolute worst council on the planet to deal with. There are no words that describe how soul destroying corresponding to them is whether it's by phone or email. They lack professionalism, common sense, won't accept a police report as evidence, ability to read submitted documents and decide to change your correspondence address when it's not been requested. If you aren't suffering from mental health you will after dealing with BCC. Have had the misfortune of dealing with these clowns for 1,5 years.
Just been to Sutton Coldfield…
Just been to Sutton Coldfield crematorium on the 40th Anniversary of my brothers death to lay flowers, pay my respects, and observe the inscription that now costs almost £300 to enter in the book of memory, only to be confronted by a notice saying they no longer turn the page on Sundays or Bank Holidays, and that we should look online instead, and to come back when an anniversary does not fall on these days. This is outrageous. They are quick enough to take the money and online is not good enough. People travel miles to do this. They have someone to open and close the gates and toilets, so they should do the book of memory too. If they can afford £2,600,000 to take flags off lamp posts, then they can pay someone to turn a page over in the book.
Disgusting service
Disgusting service, dont turn up to do the repairs booked in. Over an hour wait on the phone and they cant help. Complaints team are no good either put it to a stage one and 2 and still dont know anything. Promised compensation and havent had it. Have no faith at all in birmingham city council now. What a let down even with them being taken over they are let downs. 2 years of stress

Penalised for being an invalid
Having had cancer treatment, and having to wear a stoma, I was taken suddenly and urgently needed to reach a toilet. I mistakenly drove through a bus lane in my panic. I received a penalty notice, I wrote explaining my problems but they rejected my reasons.
Obviously they are only interested in finance and are happy to penalise invalids?

**Formal Complaint Regarding Missed…
**Formal Complaint Regarding Missed Repair Appointment and Request for Compensation**
Dear Wates Repairs Team,
I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the completely unacceptable service I have received in relation to my repair appointment today\.
I remained at home all day specifically to allow access for the scheduled repair, resulting in me missing work and losing valuable time\. Despite this, no one attended the appointment, and I did not receive a single phone call, text message, or email to advise me of any delay, cancellation, or reason for the non\-attendance\.
To make matters worse, I have spent a total of approximately three hours attempting to contact your service\. During this time, I have called on three separate occasions, and on two of those calls the line was disconnected by your team before my issue could be resolved\. This level of customer service is completely unacceptable\.
As a tenant, I expect appointments to be honoured or, at the very least, for clear communication to be provided if circumstances change\. Instead, I have been left waiting all day, missed work unnecessarily, wasted hours trying to contact your organisation, and have still been given no explanation or resolution\.
I would like a full explanation as to:
- Why no operative attended my appointment\.
- Why I was not contacted to inform me that the appointment would not be going ahead\.
- Why two of my calls were disconnected after I had already spent considerable time waiting to speak to someone\.
- What steps will be taken to ensure this does not happen again\.
Given the inconvenience, financial loss from remaining off work, and the significant amount of time I have wasted trying to resolve this matter, I am also requesting appropriate compensation\. I believe this request is entirely reasonable considering the poor level of service I have received\.
I expect this complaint to be investigated thoroughly and a written response provided without delay\. Please also arrange a new repair appointment as a matter of urgency and ensure that it is attended as agreed\.
I look forward to your prompt response\.
Yours faithfully,
Just been on the phone to bcc repairs…

What a shamble this council
What a shamble this council . We work hard pay tax and these guys dont even clean the streets of fix the road. Crackheads everywhere. Shame considering Birmingham is visited by all across UK - they haven't improved anything. We pay for a half effort council. They dont even clear the bins sometimes.
AND they dont respond to any emails or complaints
Website log in errors
Website log in errors, form errors, when I challenged BCC customer service I was told it was my computer that had an issue not their site!. Appalling service Appalling local authority. They don't know how to communicate. if your considering using Birmingham mybrum account don't except a dedicated council service. They must be the worst service online in the UK today
I was genuinely shocked by what I saw…
I was genuinely shocked by what I saw on Birmingham City Council’s housing bidding website.
While viewing a property advert, applicants were required to acknowledge a notice stating:
“The area has a lot of English flying flags and racial tension not suitable for persons from Muslim communities.”
As a resident of Birmingham, I found this wording completely inappropriate and deeply concerning.
I struggle to understand why a council housing advert would reference English flags in this way or why it would make assumptions about the suitability of an area for people based on their religion. The wording appears divisive and raises serious questions about how such statements are approved and what evidence they are based upon.
If Birmingham City Council believes warnings of this nature are necessary, then there should be transparency regarding who writes them, what evidence supports them, and whether similar warnings are applied consistently across all communities and all areas of the city.
At a time when communities should be encouraged to live together with mutual respect, I believe wording like this risks creating division rather than promoting understanding.
I have asked for an explanation and hope Birmingham City Council will review both the wording and the policy behind it.
I am sharing my experience because I believe the public has a right to know what is being displayed on the council’s housing website
Absolutely appalling
Absolutely appalling.
I drove through the clean air zone and paid for the charge. I got sent a penalty charge.
I disputed it and sent in payment reference plus screenshot of my payment. It took them over 14 days ironically to respond which meant the charge went from £60 to £120.
Which i had to pay because they charged me for entering it and exiting it. So charged me twice.
Unfortunately there is no one you can talk to over the phone because it all automated service. No actual humans in site.
Horrendous
Serious Health and Safety Concerns…
Serious Health and Safety Concerns Ignored
My experience with Birmingham City Council has been appalling.
Since March, waste water has been leaking from a council-owned property above into my flat. This is not clean water – it is contaminated waste water entering my home, creating serious environmental health concerns and a potential electrical hazard where water is affecting areas close to electrics.
Despite more than eight plumber visits, the issue remains unresolved because access to the property above has repeatedly been refused. Birmingham City Council has been aware of this for months.
We were informed by a housing officer that forced entry would be arranged within 48 hours to investigate and repair the source of the leak. This never happened. When I later contacted the council, I was told there was no record of any planned forced entry.
Since then, I have sent multiple complaint emails which have gone unanswered. Calls are not being returned, promises are made and then forgotten, and nobody appears willing to take responsibility for resolving the issue.
The ongoing leak has affected our daily lives to the point where I have had to take time off work. I have also slipped because of the conditions created by the leak. As someone who suffers from asthma, I am extremely concerned about the long-term health implications of damp, contamination and potential mould growth.
What is most disappointing is the complete lack of urgency shown by Birmingham City Council. Residents should not have to spend months chasing responses while living with waste water entering their home.
I have videos documenting the leak, the damage, and the ongoing conditions. The council has been made aware of the situation repeatedly, yet months later the problem remains.
Based on my experience, Birmingham City Council has demonstrated poor communication, poor accountability, and a failure to deal with a serious health and safety issue affecting one of its residents.

Hopeless Birmingham council
Birmingham council disdain for taxpayers, motorists, residents is appalling. Traffic around city centre tonight is chaos, roads closed for an event that doesn't start until midday tomorrow, no diversion signs, no traffic management, they simply dont care...ko wonder they went bankrupt and couldn't resolve refuse collection issue. Typical of modern Britain, hopeless public services that treat taxpayers with contempt.
