I am writing to report my experience with Zuto Starline and Blue Motor Finance who I believe are partners in a troubling business practice.
Two of my children purchased their first cars through Zuto, using their own financing. Unfortunately, my daughter's car took seven months to return, primarily due to obstructions created by Zuto.
My son also bought a car sourced through Zuto, but through a different finance company, Blue Motor. We encountered the same indifference to our complaints in this case as well.
Now, my son is left with a car that is worth only a sixth of the price he paid for it, after paying over £4000 for repairs and he still has three years left on his payments, along with needing over £2,000 worth of further repairs.
I strongly advise avoiding Zuto, Startline and Blue Motor Finance at all costs.

Worst car finance company ever!!! Avoid like the plague. They have totally ignored my right to withdraw within the 14-day cooling off period and keep sending me correspondence requesting repayment even though I never took delivery of the vehicle due to an issue with the dealership company. Total waste of time and space. On to the Ombudsman!!!

Terrible company , Dont fight for the customer and just allow dodgy dealers to get away with scamming people . 4 weeks ago the car got returned and still dont have my deposit . Offered me £200 comp for something that dragged out for 4 months and left me £1000 out of pocket . The broker got the car collected for me as this company were dragging there feet . Got the phone put down on me several times and no one ever called me with an update i always had to do the chasing . Have found someone else to finance my next car as I do not want to be with these. Have reported to the ombudsman as the service has been terrible from the complaints team from start to finish

Blue Motor Finance - helped us buy our 2nd hand car - car has been fabulous as have BMF - from start to finish they have looked after us - We have just finished our loan early and a no quibble early settlement was easily obtained - BMF great for us - we would reccomend

I’m a disabled customer with long-term mental and physical health conditions. I financed a car through Blue Motor Finance and paid them thousands of pounds before the vehicle was repossessed and sold at auction — meaning they already made significant money from my account.
There’s a small balance of around £500 left, which I simply cannot afford to pay. I sent them full medical evidence including a Debt and Mental Health Evidence Form (DMHEF) and letters from my GP confirming that I will not be able to return to full-time work.
Despite this, Blue refused to offer any support or write-off, dismissed my situation entirely, and closed my complaint with no empathy or meaningful response. Their attitude came across as cold and dismissive, and dealing with them has genuinely worsened my mental health. I also took the matter to the Financial Ombudsman, who didn’t rule in my favour — but this doesn’t change how damaging Blue’s behaviour has been.
If you ever find yourself unwell or in financial difficulty, this is not a company that will treat you with understanding or fairness. Vulnerable customers should be extremely cautious before using them.
*Edit* their reply says it all really showed evidence I’m unable to pay this back due to my health yet they push me to pay it back…… knowing I can’t afford a penny.

My experience with Blue Motor Finance for a faulty Range Rover Velar has been utterly unacceptable. After rejecting the vehicle on 31 May 2025 under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 due to persistent faults and misrepresentation by Magna Motor, I pursued a Section 75 claim under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 for a full refund of £16,082.30, comprising my £15,000 deposit, £482.90 in finance payments, and £598.82 in consequential damages. Although Blue Motor Finance returned the £482.90 finance payments, they are jointly liable for the full amount under the Consumer Rights Act, as confirmed by Citizens Advice and legal advice.
Despite Magna Motor collecting the vehicle on 16 June 2025 and re-advertising it for sale the next day, Blue Motor Finance has failed to process the remaining refund of £15,598.82, due by 30 June 2025. On two occasions, I was assured the refund would be sent, but no payment was received. When I followed up, I was told they cannot authorize a refund as large as my £15,000 deposit and that I must wait for Magna Motor, who have been largely unresponsive, to issue it. This deflection of responsibility is unacceptable. Their customer service is further hampered by long wait times and no direct phone line or email to an accounts manager, making resolution nearly impossible.
The lack of accountability has forced me to escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service, which, while helpful, requires an 8-week wait for resolution. Since 30 May 2025, I have been without a vehicle, facing financial strain due to the withheld refund, and enduring significant stress and time loss. I strongly advise against using Blue Motor Finance due to their poor service and failure to honour legal obligations.

Bought a car on finance when not in the right frame of mind (suffering from depression) phoned up to see what my options was, I spoke with a lovely lady called Lynne she was very helpful & explained everything I could do, So it helped me out of getting a black mark on my credit file. Will use them again If I need to in the future.

My experience with Blue Motor Finance has been extremely disappointing. The vehicle I financed broke down four times within six months, with the same fault returning despite multiple repairs. It became clear the car was not reliable, not durable, and not safe to drive.
I exercised my right to reject the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which protects buyers when a car develops faults within the first six months. My goal was simple: to return the car due to repeated breakdowns. I made the request within the legal timeframe and provided full evidence of the issues.
Despite this, Blue Motor Finance refused to support my rejection and would not allow the return of the vehicle. I’ve been left paying £89.89 per month, plus tax and insurance, for a car I no longer feel safe using.
Their complaint handling was slow, dismissive, and showed little regard for my legal rights as a customer. I am now pursuing the matter through the Small Claims Court.
I would not recommend this finance company based on their lack of support when serious issues arise.

Faulty car from day one from dealership blue motor finance not interested says expect some wear n tear ..in reality car shouldn’t have passed mot but it did..all evidence from day one of purchase they don’t want to see it my intention to seek legal advice from solicitors

The most amazing emphatic company I have ever dealt with. I lost both my parents in a very short time of each other and had to give up work they helped me above and beyond so I didn’t get a mark on my credit file and everyone that I spoke to was so lovely and kind

I am in the process of a complaint and quite frankly I have been ignored from the get go.
The dealership I bought the car from was deemed liable through a third party inspector the finance company used, I was wanting a refund as I was unknowingly sold a dangerous faulty car which the report states.
The blue motor finance company have said the dealership have rights to be able to fix it.. what about my rights in the fact they sold me a very dangerous car in the first place! As they inferred I have no way of not letting them do this I had to bite the bullet and let the dealership take my car and have one chance of fixing this..
I bought the car back in February and it is now nearing the end of June!
Not only have they taken my car to be fixed a month ago, blue motor finance company said they would pay for a hire car while my car is being fixed, I am now having to upfront the money which is £300 a week! Not my choice, this was the choice given to me by the finance company! And it takes me days and 3 hour phone calls to try and get through to someone
I am currently trying to get through to someone right now and it has been two days to try get reimbursed for this weeks payment for the hire car which I have had to borrow so it’s putting me in a predicament of financial burden.
I am a healthcare who works for the NHS, I get paid minimum wage so I don’t have the luxury of parting with £300 every week in order to chase someone for 3-4 days to try get it back
My mental health is seriously suffering from this where I have indeed taken an overdose a couple of weeks back and I am with a mental health team, I’m not currently working right now while I get better but I can’t get better with this looming over my head constantly.
I get completely ignored by emails and phone calls and I will attach pictures of only a fraction of the amount of times I have been ignored by this company
You should be ashamed of yourselves as a business and letting myself get to a point of total despair and feeling of no way out.
I have had no updates in the last two weeks.. and I keep getting cut off after 2-3 hours on hold trying to get through to someone.

Shocking I had to voluntarily terminate my policy as the car I had it’s engine had went contact them several times was told that was fine as I had paid over 3 years to the finance so the car was scheduled to be picked up on the 5th of June and I was told in may to cancel the direct debit which I did they have went into my bank account on the 6th of June to collect a monthly payment which they shouldn’t have done as I no longer have the car which was picked up and returned to them it has went on my credit file as a missed payment therefore has had a impact on my credit score !!!!!

Awful company, dont even sign their name on the bottom of complaints emails so could be getting passed around to 10 different people. Complaints process is worst ive ever experienced, avoid.

I would like to share my experience with Blue Motor Finance Ltd — they have been absolutely outstanding. They approved my vehicle finance, contracts were signed, and everything was ready to proceed. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected family situation, I was no longer able to move forward. Despite the circumstances and the signed agreement, Blue Motor Finance showed incredible understanding and professionalism by reversing the contract. Their support and flexibility have been truly exceptional. I am extremely grateful and sincerely hope to return as a customer in the future.

I came here to leave a scathing review from my horrible experience and the first comment I’m seeing from another responder was the exact same thing I was going to write! Shockingly unbelievable. This is not how to run a company that provides service. If i could give 0 stars I would. For starters it’s almost impossible to get through, you call their lines for so long it just keeps ringing with no one responding 90% of the time. I launched a complaint, complaint line was worse. Didn’t investigate the car, I don’t even know who the heck was the complaint officer handling. Didn’t get updates from them on a complaint was lodged for >2months! I eventually rejected the car . Yet There was still no response as to when they will refund even 2 weeks after and no timely response to my emails asides automated ones. Imagine still getting debited for a car that was returned nearly 3weeks ago and you’re no longer the registered keeper! - such an irresponsible shame of a company. If you see this review & still go ahead and do business with them you’re basically asking for the bull cut you would get (I’m only saying that because I don’t think I can swear here)

Had a banking issue (change of Ts and Cs to savings account removed the ability to use inter account standing orders, so the money was in the wrong account) which meant that not only did the DDi not get paid when it was due, but then the re-attempt 2 weeks later was also not paid.
Surprisingly found their customer service is actually open to speak to a human until 6pm - it's rare to find anything banking/financial open after 5pm!
Called and spoke to Kaylee who was an absolute diamond! So polite, professional, understanding and helpful. I explained what had happened and that I wanted to make the full payment.
She checked a few times if making the payment in one go was affordable and wouldn't leave us short on other bills, then took me through the payment process and confirmed this had now made the balance up to date. She also advised that as this had just gone into another billing cycle (next DDi is due in 4 days), it would likely show on a credit check as a missed payment, but as of next month's payment would show rectified.

I have missed 2 payments with this company back in 2021, set up an agreement with them to pay extra to cover the missed 2 payments. They have since recorded every payment since then as being missed despite sending statements that the payments have been made .... 29 missed payments they have recorded on my credit file. Complaint reviewed and resolved within 1 hour saying that the account was still in arrears and they will continue to record the payments as missed. Sent them proof that they can't record subsequent payments as missed but they aren't interested. I've now passed the matter on to the Financial Ombudsman for them to handle.
In response to their reply.. that's absolute rubbish! Subsequent payments cannot be marked as missed but that is what you have done for 29 payments!! Because of this I can't get any credit!!!
Now in the hands of the Ombudsman but if this stops them from abusing anyone else's credit file then I'm glad!
