Body & Bone scan Bristol
My husband and I had a joint appointment for a body & bone scan at the Bristol branch with Lilly. The scan itself was really quick and comfortable. Great way to monitor your progress. I have had two scans 8 months apart and it was so encouraging to see how I had improved by doing what Jack suggested after analysing my results.

Had a fantastic few hours at BodyView Whitley with Jenna. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect other than hoping to gain some insight into what’s going on beneath the surface. Curiosity, along with my lack of muscle strength, led me to book the package and it absolutely delivered on so many levels.
The knowledge Jenna has, combined with the personal service she provides, is second to none. I was nervous beforehand, but she quickly put me at ease and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand.
The whole experience, from start to finish, was incredibly thorough and far exceeded my expectations. I’ve walked away with a 12 week plan and will definitely be booking again to see the results.

Dexa scan

Booking the bone density scan online…
Booking the bone density scan online was very easy. It was easy to spread the payments over three months using Klarna. The fact you can do it without a GP referral is very useful. Although on the Birmingham body view website it mentions free parking at a local NCP carpark, they do have actual parking on site which is much easier to use as the other car park involves a bit of a walk. I booked my scan last minute as they had plenty of appointment spaces on the same day. I arrived more than half an hour in advance as I wasn't sure about traffic. Given there were no appointments before mine, I still had to wait 20 to 25 minutes until I was called in. I was greeted by James. Although I had completed the pre DEXA questionnaire online before arriving, I'm not sure if he had read this, as I was asked to explain my request for a bone density scan. I reiterated my health conditions and treatments that I was on. There were some computer glitches, including with the machine that measures your height and weight, which was a little disappointing. The scan itself took somewhere between 5 to 10 minutes to perform and was fairly straightforward, given that I have had bone density scans previously on the NHS. The results were explained, but I thought I would be offered more specific advice on what I could do to support my bone density as suggested by the website. Fortunately there were some patient leaflets available explaining how much vitamin D and calcium I should be consuming, what exercises would be beneficial and what diets would also be helpful. I was able to take these leaflets home to read for myself. The whole process probably took 30 minutes at most. As an osteoporosis sufferer I just wanted to see the health of my bones in between my NHS scans, so from that point of view I was happy to have had it done. If I was having it done for general health, then I'm not sure I would have found the experience as comprehensive as I would have thought, particularly reading the website. I may still use body view again as a way of monitoring my bone health, but I'm not sure? I'm also not sure if I would recommend body view Birmingham to my mother, who also wishes to have a bone density scan done as a precaution.

We’re pleased to hear that you found the online booking process straightforward and were able to secure a same-day appointment.
We would, however, like to clarify a couple of points. Your appointment was started on time according to our booking schedule. As you arrived significantly earlier than your allocated appointment time, there was naturally a short wait before your scan began at the scheduled time.
Regarding parking, we provide free parking for customers at the nearby NCP car park, which is detailed in our booking information and confirmation emails. The parking area directly outside the clinic is private parking and unfortunately is not owned or operated by us, so we are unable to offer those spaces for customer use.
In relation to the consultation itself, our scans primarily provide an overview of bone density and monitoring between NHS appointments, rather than being a full osteoporosis management consultation from your Doctor. However, we do aim to provide helpful guidance through our discussions and take-home information leaflets covering vitamin D, calcium intake, exercise and lifestyle support.
We’re glad that, as someone already managing osteoporosis, you found reassurance in being able to monitor your bone health between NHS scans. Your feedback is genuinely valuable and will help us continue improving the experience and communication we provide to all patients.

A Pleasant Experience
Jack was very knowledgeable, after doing the scans of my back and hip, he generated a report and went through it explaining the details of the report.The booking process was easy to follow and the team answered a few questions I had over the phone.

Dexa Performance test with Sean…
I had a Dexa Performance test with Sean in Manchester. I had felt a bit apprehensive about the tests but Sean immediately put me at ease. He explained the tests clearly and carried them out efficiently.
The information from the tests was very interesting and will help me with my two goals of limiting any decline as I age past 60 and getting my fitness performance back to compete in sporting events.
I would definitely recommend and I will be going again.

My technician was Rob. The whole process was very easy, calm and collected. What I really appreciated is that Rob went through the data and explained which metrics were the most important and suggestions of what could be done to improve those metrics.
Really pleased that I invested in doing this scan because I have a lot more clarity and understanding about my body now.

Really interesting look at total body composition at the Oxford Circus clinic with Ryan.
Came in for an understanding of fat mass and lean mass at the start of getting back into shape
Found out interestingly my bone density is a touch lower than ideal. I would have never known this without this type of scan! A real eye opener

Good service
I booked online and the process was very easy with clear instructions.
I attended the Bristol centre. It’s in the middle of Bristol with a large car park near by which cost me £2.40. It’s in a shared services building and the receptionist had me sign in and directed me to a nice waiting area in the lobby.
Lilly came down shortly and took me up to the testing area, she offered me use of the toilet along with a drink.
The induction process was really good explaining to me what was going to happen she also noticed I had reflective logo on my shorts and offered me a gown to wear which was really kind.
I was weighed and had my height measured before going into the machine Lilly spent the time to make sure I was well positioned. The scan took about 3 minutes
After the scan Lilly went through the results with me explaining each step and what it meant.
This wasn’t the first dexa I have had.
I have scored it a 4 as I am not sure how accurate the results are it had my body fat at 11% where as previously been leaner than currently as just off a bulk and had higher body fat. I was expecting off current condition to be between 16-20%.
I have booked another one so will see what that comes back as in 3-6 months

I decided to book in for a Dexa scan…
I decided to book in for a Dexa scan for curiosity really to see what needed improving as I got older. Lilly was great and the scan took minutes. The information provided from the scan was really detailed and Lilly clearly explained the results and how I can improve muscle mass and why it was important. I will definitely go back to see whether there is an improvement once I have put some hard work in!! Friendly, clean and professional
