If I could rate minus 5 that would be better- left two days with no roadside home assistance for dead vehicle after submitting to lengthy AI request then having them cancel it after no reply to a text after 30 minutes- come on...ridiculous- local tow shop came to provide boost within 40 minutes...just a joke- now cancelling my membership after many years

24 hour wait times

Called 3 times and waited almost an hour only to be accidentally hung up on. Called before 10 a.m. due to a flat tire and I'm still waiting at 5 p.m. I was told it could be 24 hours. They had a very hard time even registering my location although they've been here before, last winter. Hard to speak to a real person. Ok this is Tuesday night at 7 p.m. they texted me and said they'd be here at 3:30 p.m. I just called and guess what!! They have no record of anything!! Like I've never called or put in a request.

I have been trying to get service from…

I have been trying to get service from Caa for the last 2days and it’s nothing but incompetence. They really need to do better screening in who they are hiring. On January 24, 2026 I booked a flat bed truck around 6:45am on the tracker it show arrived again there was no one in my driveway. I called he said he’s in the complex I told him he has to come down to the driveway. He was very rude and obnoxious but eventually he did. When he came my Son explained to what was happening, he didn’t explain himself or anything he said I can’t take it off the driveway and drove away. I told him I am going to report him he said to go ahead. A second driver appeared around 11:45 but with a regular tow truck. I told him I requested a flat bed, he was very apologetic and said sometimes there’s a miscommunication even though everything was done in writing. I spoke to someone virtually they put out a third call, at around 4:14 it said dispatch then at 4:30 it went back to received. Even though I stress that shop closed at 5 tracker said they wouldn’t get to me until 5:37 so I had to cancel. All this time I am trying to hook up with a live agent that was impossible. CAA has really lost his reputation Customers are paying for an inadequate service, they really need to do better and need a strong competitor. I really wish I didn’t have to used this company

48 hours later…..CAA = CANT ACTUALLY ASSIST

So follow up to my review I placed a request YESTERDAY morning at 8:00 am and the following day 9:44 PM Still no update? no information? no driver assigned? dispatch is playing hot potato with my number texting me “there is no update” they made me pay an extra$75 for same day service now they are teling me 48 hours originally from 24…..is there only one person driving for ontario? worst company of all time canceling my membership and anyone who likes this post will pay you to cancel yours this is unacceptable

The worst customer service. Even worse follow up.

I have been a member since 2004. I have the Plus membership. Haven't needed to use them much until I bought a newer car. Last weekend was a complete nightmare with them, and my car was in my driveway! Long story, but the dealership I purchased from didn't bother to tell me the battery (for a 2022 Honda Civic) was original. Needed a boost about a month ago, and then it died. The service reps have NO CLUE what they are talking about! I wanted the battery service, and was told they "didn't have what I needed, and to call back in a few days." Turns out, my area doesn't even have battery service, only a boost or tow. Also told they will test. No. Only if you have battery service! Hours on the phone waiting... I filed a complaint, and all they say is check your membership terms, but we will credit your "calls." Only made one, for a boost, which he couldn't do. My real concern now, is most reps are saying the drivers won't allow passengers. I need this confirmed, as it will determine if I cancel or not. When I was arranging quotes with my insurance broker, she said they were not competitive, and home insurance they are really lacking in certain coverages. She actually said she could not in good conscience even provide numbers for me from them.

Do not waste your money on CAA

Do not waste your money on CAA. My car was stuck at the end of my driveway in deep snow and I waited all night and the morning of the next day and was not even given an estimated time. I even called and explained that I had an appointment at the hospital I needed to get to and that my daughters and husband could not get to work and school. They do not care and clearly do not have enough staff. I will not be renewing my membership, because I’m better off just having this money set aside to hire a tow truck that would have been here in a reasonable amount of time.

Refused to tow because he wouldn't take the insurance slip on my phone

Tow truck refused to tow my vehicle because I didn’t have a printed insurance slip, even though I showed clear electronic proof on my phone.
Under Ontario law, electronic proof of insurance is valid, but he said a printed copy was required.
My alternator was failing and multiple warning lights were on (ABS, traction control, stability control, airbags, and power steering). Despite this, he told me it was okay to drive the car since it still started, which I didn’t feel was safe.
Based on my experience, the service felt unhelpful and dismissive. I was disappointed with how the situation was handled.
Update*
Next CAA driver did tow it with my insurance on my phone and it was the alternator (glad i didnt take the first drivers advice and drive it on battery power alone). Do better please

The Battery Service Is Not a Service

I have generally found their service to be declining over the years, however I just called for a battery replacement service and was told that there is no time guarantee but the best estimate is 72 hours LOL Bro that is 3 days - that is not a service. The battery was more expensive than any other retail provider but I thought the extra might be worth it.

CAA rep refused to change the flat!

My tire had blow at 11:00 pm on the QEW! I called CAA & submitted my request for help! Two hours later I get a call saying the driver willl not take the call unless I crawl under the truck and retrieve the spare! I stated I was age 67 and was not physically able! The CAA REP retort was I will see if I can get another driver! Four hours later I’m stilll waiting !

Very disappointing experience

Very disappointing experience
I have waited for 5 hours for their service and it had never shown up
My car broke down and the workshop is closed now! Waiting since 2 pm to receive their feedback. Even the feedback is now switched off: what a shameful service. They should refund customers money and close this service as they can not run it

I did not want to freeze

I am member for many years bud their service getting very bud recently. I called at 9:30pm. Good weather no traffic just cold. I was waiting until midnight in cold car. apparently they were busier than normal. We here that more often resent days. I had to call and pay for non CAA towing service. I did not want to freeze. Horrible

Save your money and try another service…

Save your money and try another service like Canadian Tire. This the second time in 2 years I've used the service when my truck wouldn't start. Called this morning at 8:30 am. My latest update says anticipated service at 12:30 pm. That's unacceptable when im shelling out over $150. Im dumping the service. Its trash.

Vehicle broke down in Southampton at 5:30am at Circle K. Called CAA. Trucks are very busy I was told. Will be a couple of hours. Okay, NP. Weather is clear, not raining or snowing. Still waiting at 10:48am!!! CAA says waiting for tow truck to drive up from Listowel!!! My understanding is that CAA underpays the tow drivers, Companies. Virtually impossible to get a tow. Just lost an Entire days PAY!!!! Why pay for a membership when service is Pathetic!!???

Disaster

On the way to party and car broke down mid way wich is 42 km from home and i have caa plus wich is 200km coverage i call and give them location of car and where it needs to go and i finish call with agent hoping they will come and 1h later waiting with KIDS IN COLD decide to call and ask about aprox time of arival and lady said the call did not go trough because they are covering only 30km i have caa plus wich is 200km of coverage they said that is my only option where m i soupose to leave car on weekend evening they said to call 3rd party just disaster plan was to tow car home and get picked up ..but no party get canceled because of me and i spend 4.1/2 h waiting just disaster this is way beyond 1 star

Absolutely horrendous service

Absolutely horrendous service. Adjuster hasn't responded to repeated emails and calls. Car is a write off but it's been over 2 weeks and no communication.
This company SUUUUUCKS. Do yourself a favor, steer clear.

Bait and Switch Tactics

Was offered a deal because I wanted to cancel. Told me to call back once my membership lapsed. Called back, no deal. Said the deal wasn't on record.
I guess bait and switch is a tactic they use at CAA.

I got the call from my daughter

I got the call from my daughter, car is in the ditch.
Left work at 8:45 am, drove to car, driver arrived 10min before scheduled time. Talked calmly, supported and pulled us out. Quick, efficient, professional and friendly. Thanks Jacob!

Absolutely terrible live support.

Made a request, car had broken down. All automated, gave information, request good to go. Made some calls because my car just broke down during which the dispatch called me and left a message I needed to call back. There is no way to get live service with CAA. I needed to go through the emergency route to get ahold of live service. She was rude, Julie, and very condescending based on information she did not understand related to the specific situation. I have TD auto club as well. I think I'll use them next time.
