Poor Concern for health and safety

I have been a regular customer at cake inn Northampton for a few years. And it has always been great.
However last Sunday I bought Chocolate sundae cup for my 11 year old niece. Sadly the cream was completely off. It was too late to call the branch so I messaged via Facebook link. I heard nothing back so I visited the branch today. It was unbelievable. The lack of customer service....non existent. I was made to feel like I was a liar. I had no receipt as I was not given one. But I have it on my transactions. There was a lot of to and fro...lots of questions...wheres your proof? Why did you wait a week to complain.
I have to be honest though they reluctantly refunded me...only after asking though...it wasn't about the money. Its actually a health and safety issue..especially when young and vulnerable are involved.
There was no apology whatsoever.
I will not be returning to Cake Inn.

Cake inn in Bedford

Cake inn in Bedford .apart from the cake side .nothing wrong with the cake .was all good,.
We brought helium balloons from there ,soon as we got home in 10 mins the helium balloons deflated .we went bk and told the lady .she was not happy and thought we did something to them .only had em in the back seat .disappoint was she then gave us another and said to us once u step out of our shop its responsibly.she was not happy .as customer we felt we were in the wrong .we went bk home the balloons got deflated again .cut the long story short .we wont be coming bk ere again as we were treated so wrong .we also had family over for birthday .we then ended up buying it from elsewhere. . The cake was fine but i wont be coming in there again .u need to check your balloon for helium must have a bad barch .it was also my very first time going in there . Her communication with us as a customer was really bad she was very adamant. As customers as us r right

Commercial road branch

Commercial road branch. Cake wasn't fresh. Old fruits. Owner not happy to take accountability for the cream. Had to agree to disagree. Offered 10 percent refund- still haven't gotten it.

Cake Inn Milton Keynes

Cake Inn Milton Keynes. Avoid. I ordered a birthday cake with a 2 hour delivery window. The delivery was delayed by nearly 1 hour and the cake arrived damaged. I sent 3 emails to Cake Inn with my complaint - nobody even bothered to get back to me.

Worst vegan cake ever!

I ordered a vegan chocolate cake (from Cake Inn, Oundle Road, Peterborough) for my daughter's 40th birthday. The cake was ordered on the 14th October for collection on the 15th.
I picked it up at the time I'd arranged and took it straight to the restaurant. It looked amazing with pale chocolate cream around it and lots of fresh fruit on top.
Here endeth the happy part. The cake was dry, stodgy and dense and the chocolate cream was completely tasteless. I was embarrassed to serve it to the guests and hugely disappointed for my daughter as it was a surprise. It is possibly the worst vegan cake I've ever had and it was not cheap..... I'm pretty sure I could have bought a shop made vegan cake for less than the £22 this cost.
I definitely will not be buying another cake from Cake Inn and will make sure none of my friends or family do either!

Avoid cake inn Wellingborough Road Northampton

I had a terrible experience this time with the cake inn Northampton, I have had cakes before from this store and had no problem but this time my cake wasnt what I ordered I asked for a cake with dripping going around the outside of the cake they forgot to do the dripping around the cake the writing on the cake was also wonky and there were some patchy areas on the cake where the icing was, i rang the next day and told a member of staff and she said it was her fault she forgot to do the dripping on the cake even though that was the design of the cake i said it wasnt good enough and not what i ordered, i asked to speak to the manager and I was told I couldn't after saying a few times I wanted management and not a staff member the staff member said she would speak to the manager and get back to me, i asked the member of staff for her first name and she refused to give it to me at first but after asking her again she gave it to me her name was lesa. I send my pictures of the cake to the stores watts app number so they could show the manager the cake I received. When the member of staff got back to me I was offered discount for next time I ordered I said I wasnt happy with that because they hadn't given me the cake I ordered and it didnt look like the one avitised on the website so they offered me a £2 refund for the dripping that wasnt put around the outside of the cake. The staff member told me that she had forgotten to do it because they were too busy and had lots of orders to complete and the manager would only give me a £2 refund i told the staff member to get the manager to contact me and he still hasn't done it. I left a review on there website and since then the staff member has taken my phone number off the company phone and messaged me from her own private number and begged me to delete my review and said her job is in danger and if I delete the review they will give me a full refund but only if I delete my review, I have rang again to speak to the manager about this and been told they will get the manager to call me and again still i haven't heard anything.

Exceptional Cake

I wanted a very special cake for my daughter's first birthday and found a picture of what I wanted. Cake Inn were very quick to respond to my query and gave me a call to discuss all the details of the cake. It was amazing service as I felt Cake Inn understood what I wanted without me having to say very much. When I picked up the cake, it was better than I thought it was going to be! What was even better was the taste, I highly recommend Cake Inn for any occasions, thank you so much to the Melton Road branch in Leicester for all of your hard work. I am very sorry I did ask the lady's name but she was truly exceptional!

My experience when visiting Cake Inn

I was very pleased with my experience with 'Cake Inn' the Dudley road branch. They treated me with such respect, got my order right and spoke very politely to me. I will definitely purchase from them again because their cakes were absolutely amazing, especially the mango flavor.

Not deserving of any stars

Cake inn Harrow Weald branch.
Not deserving of any stars. Spoiled my daughters birthday.
We ordered a Hazelnut cake from cake inn harrow Weald branch for my daughters birthday. However the wallnuts on the cake were rancid. So we decided to complain to them straight after we had tried it and even showed them a sample of the cake but they still wouldn't believe us. Instead they wanted me to test there nuts from the shop and kept saying that they used the same nuts. Is not about our test is all about u have used rancid nuts which is not acceptable. Not only one person eat that i order for 6 person. We all feel that nuts test was weird like rancid walnuts. Also they haven't mentioned about on the website they r using walnuts. We r paying money for good quality not for bad. This is not first time I order. I ordered in the past many time never had problems before.

Shockingly Poor Customer Service – No Response, Stale Cake, and Zero Accountability

I ordered a cake for a very special occasion—what arrived was stale, clearly not fresh, and completely underwhelming. It was honestly embarrassing to serve to guests.

But what’s worse? The complete lack of customer service.

I reached out multiple times through their website form and email, hoping for at least an acknowledgement or apology. Nothing. Not a single reply. For a company that boldly advertises:

“Committed to Customer Service – We’re here to help at every stage of your order…”

This couldn’t be further from the truth. Customer service is non-existent. It feels like once they take your money, they’re done.

The website says:

“Questions? Concerns? We’re here to help.”

This is FALSE advertising. I had a genuine concern, and they have ignored it completely.

I’m genuinely shocked that a cake company operating in 2025 would show so little care for its customers. A simple reply could have resolved this, but the silence speaks volumes.

It’s not just about the stale cake—it’s the lack of human decency in acknowledging and resolving a valid complaint.

To anyone reading: Please think twice before ordering. If something goes wrong, don’t expect support.

And to Cake Inn: if you really are committed to customer service, now would be a good time to show it.

Can't even get the basics right..


I recently ordered on of your cakes ( 1 hour ) on Saturday 17th at 14.10pm to be collected on Monday 19th at 6.00pm from Leeds.
On arrival at 6pm the cake wasn't ready and by the look of the staff who were looking through the order book for a confirmation it probably hadn't even been started.
I was then to to come back at 7pm as they were " just finishing it off "53 hrs from ordering it online.
I turned back up at 7pm, yet again still not ready, they just wanted to confirm the writing I wanted on it.
Finally the cake was done, I took it to my car and passed it to my wife who opened the box and there was a spelling mistake, one letter missing. Off I go again back in the shop to get it rectified, but she couldn't even correct it without double checking the order form as thought it was going to bankrupt the place for 1 letter..
Finally got the cake ( 1 hr chocolate sponge , 53 hrs later )
The next day my wife took the cake to work and cut into it .. not even chocolate , just a sponge cake

What an absolute shambles of a company ..
A 1hr cake that takes 53 hrs with spelling mistakes and not even a chocolate sponge cake !!
Needless to say I won't be purchasing for Cake inn ever again
