Cakes & Bakes Avis 

I bought milk cake from my nearest branch of shahdara. Quality has dropped and layer of cream is more than it was before . I won't recommend your milk cake to anyone . In August it was totally ok and cake's spunch was also very milky and cream used to be less on the top . I wish I could share picture in here . But your milk cake is a total flop now. Sorry to say .

⭐ 1 star — Very disappointing

I’m extremely disappointed with this order. I paid for a 10-inch Mango Swirl Square Cake, advertised as approximately 20 servings, with vanilla sponge, vanilla whipping cream and jam, and the personalised message “Happy 74 Birthday Abbu x.”

This was for my dad’s 74th birthday, so it was an important occasion. Unfortunately, the cake did not meet my expectations and I was very disappointed with the quality and overall experience. For a cake costing £57.99, I expected a much higher standard.
I got 2 free candles and balloon but still does not justify why the cake was soo bad and original candles not received.
I would not recommend this cake and, based on this experience, I would be very reluctant to order from Cakes & Bakes again for a special occasion.

I was absolutely shocked by the quality of messaging in my daughter in laws cake, it was so bad I had to ask for it to removed. To collect a cake on the day of a 30th birthday meal & to be so disheartened is unacceptable!
I had to try to find someone local that would put a message on the cake for me.

Delivery of cupcakes arrived splattered all over the box. Can't reach shop by phone, definitely not my idea of quality or customer service!

A new branch opened near me today.
It looked nice and bright, the displays looked lovely.
They had a 4 for 3 offer on the cake slices.
I got a mango, a biscoff, a black Forrest and a chocolate to try.

They all looked so lovely.

They tasted of nothing in particular, the most flavourful thing was the half of a fresh strawberry on top of the mango cake. The cake itself was dry, it was crispy on one ed where it had been left out, uncovered.
The cream on all of them had a really synthetic texture and mouth feel. I don’t even think it was actual fresh cream, but something out of a tub with a shelf life I’ve a couple of years.

I could see a very thin layer of jam in the black Forrest but I couldn’t taste it.

The cakes didn’t taste unpleasant but they were nowhere near as nice as they looked.

I did a bit of research and found that the shops are franchises who just assemble the cakes on site with the cake sheets and fillings and toppings being supplied by cakes & Bakes, which means they will be the same in every branch.

Overall very disappointing and I won’t be buying from a cakes and bakes store again. If I wanted to treat myself I’d go to M&S or Sainsburys for a fresh cream cake

I don’t think the shop will last long in my town which is a shame as the franchisee has clearly put a lot into their new business.

I purchased a cake with the expectation that it would be freshly made, as advertised. However, upon cutting into it, I noticed it was clearly at least one or two days old. I emailed customer service hoping to resolve this issue, but I have not yet received a response. Furthermore, I have noticed multiple reports regarding this specific branch selling stale cakes, with some customers even finding mould.

Update from their reply -

This response is misleading. The matter has not been resolved.

Cakes & Bakes have refused my request for a full refund and instead offered me a £27 voucher towards a future order, which I do not want and will not use.

They have acknowledged that allergen information should have been communicated clearly and proactively at the point of order. I have simply asked for an appropriate resolution, yet my request for a refund has been refused.

Nut allergies are serious, so the decision to ignore this despite acknowledging that the allergen communication could have been clearer is baffling to me.

I therefore do not agree that this matter has been “resolved”.

Further update - have you see their reply - clearly it’s handled by robots. Poor company and will take my money elsewhere.

Absolutely delighted with my customised cake from Cake and Bake Shop! 🎂✨ The cake looked absolutely beautiful and was exactly what I had hoped for. The attention to detail was amazing, and it tasted just as good as it looked — fresh, delicious and beautifully made. 😍
You can really tell how much care and effort went into making it. Everyone loved it, and I received so many compliments! ❤️

Cake seems to have shrunk in height. Doesn’t taste the same either. Still nice but not as good as usual.

Very bad service , they took order on my daughter's birthday and deducted £64. Whn we went there to collect cack on given time, the cake was not ready. They ruined our event and we had to accept ready made normal cake and no refund.. they didn't care about the situation...

I would not recommend ordering from this company. I ordered a vegan red velvet birthday cake for my daughter’s 30th birthday 3 weeks in advance. On the day of collection we were informed that it was not available. All they could offer was a plain or chocolate sponge cake. As it was short notice and needed that day we had to accept the plain sponge. Poor follow up
Service with no apology or compensation. Only paid back £10.00 difference in price. Very poor service.

Mekanda 6 adet ekmek arası ve 4 su için toplam 7.000 TL ödedim, ödediğim ücret zaten fazlasıyla yüksekken bir de sunulan hizmetin son derece özensiz olması beni hayal kırıklığına uğrattı.
Artan ekmek aralarını paket yaptırmak için rica ettiğimde, ürünler büyük bir kağıt poşete düzgünce yerleştirilmeden gelişi güzel kondu ve “kendin düzelt” denilerek kaba bir tutum sergilendi. Defalarca rica etmeme rağmen bu yaklaşım değişmedi ve ben de bu durum üzerine şikayet yazmaya karar verdim.
Normalde şikayet etmeyi tercih eden bir müşteri değilim ancak ödediğim ücret ve karşılığında aldığım bu seviyede saygısız ve özensiz servis kabul edilebilir değil. Cake & Bake Ankara Esenboğa şubesinde hem fiyat politikasının hem de personel davranışlarının gözden geçirilmesini ve bu tür durumların tekrar yaşanmaması için gerekli uyarı ve düzenlemelerin yapılmasını talep ediyorum.

We received our Mango Square cake on Thursday and were very disappointed with it. There was hardly any layer of cake; it was mostly filled with cream.

We have been ordering the same cake from you for over a year and have never experienced this issue before. As a VIP member and a loyal customer, we were particularly disappointed with the quality this time.

We would appreciate it if you could look into what went wrong.

Absolutely awful service and my advice don’t bother
I ordered a 40th birthday cake for my niece at the end of July to be delivered to our hotel on 7th August between 9am and 3pm as we were lunching at the savoy and then going onto a show straight afterwards so I paid the extra to have it delivered earlier , between 9 and 3pm
We waited in as long as possible to give her her last surprise but because it had still not been delivered by 3pm we had to go .
On returning to the hotel at 11.30 pm I went to reception to see if the had been delivered at all to be told it had been delivered at 4pm
My niece was already in bed asleep when I collected the cake and so she didn’t receive the cake until the day after her birthday
I was and still am so disgusted by the service , no one had the decency even to phone us and state it was going to be late , I paid £89 for the cake including £12.99 for early delivery and £19.99 congestion charge and after several phone calls complaining and emails they have turned round and offered me £5 refund only , an absolute joke , my nieces 40th surprise was ruined by a company that simply don’t care

I am highly disappointed with my experience here. I chose this place over Cake Box for the first time for my daughter's birthday, purchasing a chocolate ganache cake. Unfortunately, the cake tasted like it was made with just raw cocoa powder, leaving an overwhelmingly unpleasant flavor in our mouths. It was practically inedible and had to be thrown away. I spent good money and even drove half an hour to pick it up, only to be let down. This was my first time trusting them with a special occasion, and I am extremely unsatisfied.
Although the staff member was helping and kind.

I was really disappointed when the birthday cake I ordered from Cakes & Bakes arrived, as it didn’t entirely reflect the toppings and decorations shown in the advertised picture.

The cake was advertised under the Finest collection with Kinder Buenos, but these had been substituted with Kit Kats. The fruit was also supposed to be an abundance of fresh summer fruits, including cherries, yet there was very little fruit on the cake and the cherries had been replaced with glacé cherries — particularly disappointing when it is cherry season.

What frustrated me most was that I was not contacted beforehand to let me know that the advertised toppings were unavailable or to ask whether I would be happy with substitutions. Had I been given the choice, I could have decided whether to accept the alternatives or choose something else.

Unfortunately, this left me feeling very disappointed, especially as this was for a birthday and I expected the cake to look like the one I had ordered. Disappointed… yet again!

Looked and tasted great and really large.
