Horrible company beware

Absolutely horrible stay at Almost Heaven and awful management company. Beware. We arrived late Thursday evening with our two infants and toddler and found the driveway was a sheet of ice and has not been plowed in weeks even though our agreement stated they would send their crew when snow accumulated to 3 inches. Ended up getting 2 vehicles stuck (we have 4 wheel drive). Had to pay a company to come help us and 4 men including 2 from
Our own party had to shovel the driveway for 3 hours to move the cars. The tow truck company said chains would have done nothing in this situation even though Carolina Cabin Rentals argued with me and said we should have brought chains. The rest of
The time we stayed at the house we had to park 300 ft away and carry our infants down an icy hill to get to the house. I’m addition to the unsafe not family friendly condition of the driveway the home itself was disgusting. Blood stains on the comforter, trash under the sofas, food left in the fridge, dirty towels, the list goes on. We cut our stay short because of the filth and dangers and I’ve called the company multiple times and they have done nothing. Stay far away from Almost Heaven and Carolina Cabin Rentals.

Heather, we do not accept your criticism regarding the driveway. You are angry because you found conditions we disclosed were likely, and suffered the consequences of being ill prepared. We were clear in our communication with you before you came. The word “mitigate” means to reduce, or make less severe. We have service lined up to mitigate the accumulation snow. Conditions dictate whether this is possible. A 4-wheel drive vehicle, tire chains and the ability to drive on snow and ice are the only things we can recommend to get to or from the property. Cleaners and maintenance staff were able to get to and depart from the house with 4 wheel drive and chains.

From our communication to you before you arrived: “The following conditions are required to successfully navigate winter weather situations: 1) accept personal responsibility, 2) prepare for possible conditions, 3) approach circumstances of winter weather with a practical attitude that acknowledges the limited nature of the property managers commitment, and that responsibility for safety and consequences for actions belong to the operator of the vehicle.”

You accomplished none of this. Then blamed us for the consequences.

Illogical.

No working door locks, hot tub, fire table, or customer service provided.

We had a hellacious experience. There was no working door code or key at check in or for the duration of our stay. Even after waiting outside for nearly 20 minutes in freezing weather, the best they could do was remotely unlock it for us. No code was ever provided, meaning we had to leave our belongings in an unlocked home for our dinner reservations. The home was missing a key piece of the advertising, the glass fire table on the deck, entirely. It also lacked a working hot tub, neither the heating or jets working, and had for some time, according to both the most recent reviews AND the maintenance man who was sent to, “look at it.” We were told by that gentleman a work order had been in for longer than a week, despite Carolina Cabin Rentals assuring me less than 24 hours prior to my check in that it was working. This amenity, particularly, had been the primary filter on which we based our decision to rent.

Despite all these issues, the host refused to provide adequate recourse. By the time I despaired of reaching resolution and reached out to Airbnb, I’d been trying for HOURS, and it was nearing midnight and well below freezing. This host is in flagrant violation of almost all Airbnb policies.

Thank god Airbnb handled my issues, provided options for me to find an available listing that met my criteria, and importantly, could be locked when I left and unlocked when I returned. They provided a refund and assisted with finding safe and secure accommodations. I will happily use Airbnb in the future knowing that the added fee from using this platform actually does mean they stand up for clients when hosts completely disregard their terms of service. Find another Airbnb property to rent - we are SO much happier with our replacement accommodations.

Rachel, we talked while you were at the house. We had a heavy snow that put our operations on our heels for quite some time. I tried to explain and I guess I can't require that you understand. But I'm the one who authorized the cancellation and full refund from airbnb because we did not have any available alternatives. So, while I acknowledge that circumstances caused a bad stay for you, much of your elaboration is embellished, clearly for the purpose of harming a company that provided best effort in the face of challenging circumstances and authorized a full refund when we were unable to deliver our normal level of service. I'm disappointed that you had a bad experience and that you felt you had to lash out. We successfully host 17,000 reservations a year. Your experience is rare.

Great!!

My family stayed at the Lei Lei mountainstay Cabin. It was great! It was clean and very accommodating to our family. The only thing I wish they had was a shovel (we couldn’t find one) and we needed one to get rid of all the snow :)
Also I have been in communication with Carolina Cabin rentals and they always replied within like 2 minutes to any question that I had! So thankful for that

Terrible service!!!

If I could give a 0 star review I would. We reserved a cabin thru Carolina Cabin Rentals and when we showed up today, 12/27/21, the owner was home and said that the house had sold and that the house was not available to rent. Needless to say we were in a very bad situation with no place to stay and nowhere to go. We ended up over paying for a hotel room for 5 adults…I wouldn’t ever recommend this company to rent from!!!!

Nice cabin and fabulous views

Nice cabin and fabulous views. Weekend with our adult children. We cooked all our meals and had everything we needed. Rental agency was great. Will definitely stay with them again.

Very lovely place

Very lovely place, very clean and well equipped. Very easy check in and check out procedures. Carolina Cabins has excellent variety of listings and very user friendly process.

Wonderful cabin

Wonderful cabin. We had 6 people and never felt crowded. Loved the tall ceilings and exposed beams! We would definitely rent again.

Wonderful cabin

Wonderful cabin. Just right for a family of 10. There was lots of fireplaces and lots of entertainment right there. We didn't haveto leave at all. WOuld like to stay there again.

steep climb..

road to cabin is pretty steep,means your high in the mountain, which is fine with me..cabin is very cozy with great view..beds are comfortable, shower's have great water pressure which is rare in these cabins..all the amenities you need in cabin..very quite and peaceful...lots of deer around...only negative imo is parking is tight for 2 vehicles. Will stay again...for sure..
