Avoid! I needed number plates urgently. Paid £9.99 for express delivery and plates were not sent. Received an email saying plates dispatched - using Evri I may add (an economy service, costing £3 at most, by no means express or £9.99!). Tracking number provided, item still not dispatched yet, 4 days after order placement. Contacted CarPlatesDirect - Zero response / reply.
I have raised a claim with my bank now to dispute the transaction and try and get my £32 back! Do NOT use this company. Scammers!!!

Hoping this is a way to get a response from them because their email bounces. I also fell for the custom plates issue so asked, at the point where it gives you a chance, to hold the order but it was ignored, the payment was taken and the plates were issued. I now don't think I have legal plates and there is no way of contacting the company. If it wasn't a scam before, I fear it is now, AVOID.

I ordered my plate for the cycle carrier and then read some reviews and was panicking a bit “BUT” what an amazing service! Literally 2 days later and it was at my house and that wasn’t priority post or anything. Plate looks amazing and amid highly reckoned them to anyone who needs some top quality plates for your trailer or car. Thank you!

Very poor customer service. Paid for an Express Delivery as it was a birthday gift and they have still not arrived. Nobody to speak to or chase up and no reply from Car Plates direct or Evri.... One disappointed son. Very poor service and sympathy to try and resolve. Shocking.

Awful experience, order arrived as promised. Great start… But the order is incorrect, not the plates I ordered and completely the wrong registration and of course can’t speak to anyone to solve this issue and now my car is off the road awaiting plates.

Illegal plates scam
As with other customers, my daughter fell foul of the custom plate selection box, a thoughtful web designer would correct this by pre selecting the legal option and covering the illegal selection up to the point you have read what and why it is unwise to select custom plate option, we will have to purchase again but not on here, avoid.

Just awful. Ordered plates and paid priority delivery on 14/4. Received confirmation that they had been dispatched the same day - its now 22/4 and no plates. I was given a tracking number for Evri but they have never received the package. Being fobbed off when emailing the sales email address and you can't call them.

Delayed despatch meant that I had to buy plates elsewhere. Bought at 7am on Friday with express delivery and guaranteed same day dispatch, except they weren't, they were actually sent on Monday PM, too late for the car and now useless.
Note after the vendor replied.
My number plates were standard legal plates, nothing special and really no excuse why it was so late…
Sent an email to the company who then reeled out a whole load of garbage about no guarantees, totally different to the website.
Would not recommend, worst of all is the lack of customer service and fob offs when they cause a delay.

Hi Nick, You ordered short plates which take a little longer to manufacture, You ordered on Friday 11th - Dispatched on Monday 14th as we don't always guarantee same day dispatch (As you have stated in your review?) and your order was delivered on Tuesday 15th.

tried this company, what a mistake that was,they are a complete scam, ordered plates, arrived a few days later, totally illegal, no spacing,not to british standard, no maker. tried to email but it's not contactable,look at their site ,no address, no phone contact,false trustpilot reviews,looked at terms and conditions clearly states plates illegal for road, also no refunds for any reason,clearly illegal trading,am currently going via consumer line and trading standards, these scabs need stopping. avoid at all costs, I will only use Number 1 plates in future, used before, I am an idiot for not using this time,excellent service

Hello there! You designed your own custom plates, and we print exactly what you've created. When using our website's plate builder, this is one of the first decisions you make. You have the option to choose between legal or show plates, depending on your preference. which you must tick to confirm you are ok with this. Legal plates include all the relevant legal markings, Manufacturers name and postcode etc, Custom plates don’t, please note that we print directly from the design you provide us, so we don't have any prior knowledge of your specific preferences. Our printing process is automated, ensuring accuracy in reproducing your design. In your case, you've selected show plates.
