Viewed a property to rent in North Wales. Travelled from Reading so paid for a hotel for overnight. Admitted to having an IVA and told no problem 6 months rent up front. Packed up our current property. No reply so phoned the agent who said ‘they don’t want to proceed. Good luck in finding somewhere to live’ have written a document explaining our situation- read but no reply. WhatsApp about no reply and asked to put our case forward as the rent has been reduced. Read but again no reply. Also, told we did not earn enough to cover the rent - they can ask for 30 times the rent - £45k. My husband and I turn over £165k per year. This the the agents not the landlord I’m sure Rude and ignorant staff - use at your peril!

Unprofessional. Made an offer on a property which they acknowledged, chased after couple of weeks, no reply to emails, avoiding phone calls, no response whatsoever. I Just found out that they sold the property.

Let down by poorly arranged flat viewing

Highly professional and experienced local agents that found us great tenants for our property. They offered us a great team to work with and every interaction with every member of the team have been effective and pleasant. Would definitely recommend.

We’ve just completed on the purchase of our new family home in Manton. Carter Jonas handled the sale of our previous house and the purchase of our new house very professionally. Both Fred and Helen have been a brilliant help with our house buying experience, with particular thanks to Fred for his advice throughout and for (sadly) helping us through the probate process on our new purchase. It’s been quite a long journey but we’re thrilled with the end result!

Fred at Carter Jonas Marlborough was very helpful and responsive in selling our cottage. From the initial meeting he was enthusiastic and professional. He listened to how we wanted to do things and responded accordingly. Despite a difficult market, he stayed with us and worked hard to ensure that the sale went through.

Carter jonas were in charge of managing my mother’s council house. A council house run by a private agent. Make that make sense. After she passed they messed me about regarding succession. Went ahead with it anyway even when I told them I didn’t want to do it. I then got left with a council tax bill for the 4 months it took them to sort everything out. They then told the council I was living there after she passed when I wasn’t. In the end I won my case with the council. Avoid these lot at all costs!!!! Especially Callum stavely smith who lied to me on several occasions.

She consistently went above and beyond to support us throughout the early stages of the process. Notably, she even took her own time to record a second video of the property when we realised we had missed a few details. Izzie offered thoughtful guidance during negotiations, showed great patience when we reconsidered aspects of the terms and conditions, and always maintained a warm and approachable manner. She is a highly competent and kind individual whom we would wholeheartedly recommend as outstanding.

Ahead of moving in, the property was cleaned to an excellent standard, and our experience since has been very smooth. Our interactions with the property manager, Marta, has been extremely pleasant. She has been consistently helpful and approachable. She responds to queries promptly and resolves issues quickly and effectively. Her willingness to go the extra mile has been very much appreciated, a refreshing experience compared to previous property management encounters from other agencies. A very kind and competent individual who clearly has mountains of experience.

In conclusion, we would highly recommend the Carter Jonas Wandsworth team. They are a competent, professional group who prioritise clear communication and minimise stress at every stage of the process.

Carter Jonas has provided a superb service with the sale of our property. Due to its unique style and being listed it provided its own set of challenges. The previous estate agent, marketed for 18 months with no offers. However Belinda and the team set about marketing, providing a very good brochure and window display.

Very shortly 2 viewings later we had a buyer. Belinda was instrumental in obtaining an agreed value and in recommending a conveyancer, which was Elite Conveying and I would highly recommend them as do Carter Jonas. They were great.

Tina then took over the processes to represent us throughout the progression of the sale. She kept us updated and pushed when needed.

In the end we completed and were so happy with the result.

Long term landlord cutting ties with this organisation. They gave me a disgusting overestimate of refurbishment costs for the property as they were trying to price me out and encourage me to sell the house through them. No thought for the tenants, who are as much as a customer as myself. They practice poor behaviour and violate contractual agreements, sending people unnoticed to property and pinning blame on contractors when it is them who are responsible for organising the contractors and communicating with the tenants. Honestly they cause more trouble than they are worth and it is hard to see why their fees are so high when they do so little to actually manage the property and deal with tenant requests. Seem like a bunch of suit workers with 0 practical understanding of housing. They also fail to do regular checkups on property condition, especially when tenants switch over as their lazy attitude is to say they don't need to conduct new inventories as they are 'sharers' but this does not absolve them of responsibility. It makes it particular hard to track down liability for damages when sharers change over each year and they have no record of missing/damaged items, and the new sharers have proof of the condition themselves upon entry. It's a cow boy business, and the staff are quite frankly rude.

It is their attitude that is loosing them a long-time customer.

Excellent service from Nick in the Marlborough office. Knows his stuff and kept me well informed and everything on track. Helen and Fred were equally knowledgeable and helpful. Provided you keep them adequately supplied with chocolate things run very smoothly!
