I have been living in one of the properties managed by Carter Jonas for over 2 years now. I have always found them helpful and always available and willing to help especially Maddy Perris has always been excellent and super responsive in getting my issues resolved.

Very disappointed with the total lack of communication.
A charming man first came to visit us, so professional and caring. Photographs were taken and we didn't hear any more. I contacted Carter Jonas and waited 3 weeks for a reply, apparently the gentleman had left and no one had taken on our file. An apology was made, new photographs taken, our property was beautifully presented, but '0' communication or updates from Carter Jonas, we waited 3 months to see if anyone contacted us and no one has! We have asked all data to be removed and would not recommend Carter Jonas.

Carter Jonas is nothing but a cowboy company and they act on behalf of national highways. Rented a property in feb 2023 on the day of arrival there had been no clean done the person giving the keys over didn’t know what key was for what didn’t know where the septic tank was ect. They then got someone in to clean who then scratched the wood floors and window sills, moving on from that I then refused to sign their inventory as the person that had gone in and taken photos had only taken photos of the ok parts of the house I then sent a lengthy email with 72 photos attached of damages in the house that were never on their report (still to this day I haven’t signed a inventory). I had been telling them about my windows from a couple of months after move in 2 years later still not done all they want you to do is take time off have numerous contractors come on different dates to quote but don’t do anything about it, I had sent emails in jan 2024 with issues and that email even after chasing was never replied to until April 2024. Fast forward to today I am having issues with my oil tank overly using oil I have put in over £1400 worth of oil since September when the first 900 litres I put in back in September should be just about running out now but I have had to top up 5 times they sent someone out in December 2024 and said if an issue was detected they would reimburse me for the extra oil I have had to purchase then amazingly they could not get hold of the report when the gentleman had detected issues they then sent out someone else to do a “visual” which they didn’t know what they were looking at as the original report needed to be with them but they suggested changing the pipe from the tank to the boiler to see if it made a difference eventually after 1 month and one day they had the original report and then confirmed I would get a reimbursement I sent over my receipts and then next day asked for an update as of when this would happen to then be told as their Google search stated a different average for the year on a 2018 EPC report I would not be reimbursed because after being in a domestic abuse relationship I could not get a couple more receipts for the whole year as I would not put myself at risk. All I keep being told is Google averages I will be taking this a lot further do not rent from these people
Update 30th January- so today I was supposed to have contractors come to replace the pipe from the oil tank to the boiler to see if they can fix the issue, I have just had a call from the contractor attending saying they are not replacing the pipe but only coming to take photos as apparently the contractor they sent to cut the bushes at the tank did not take photos - when in fact they did as they showed me the photos before taking me outside to show me what they have done!! And carter Jonas then again ignore emails and only answer to ones they want to
Carter Jonas and the Agent Ed came across from the start as very professional, very knowledgeable about the local area, experienced in selling the type of property I was selling, and all round pleasant to deal with. Their recommendations for solicitors and house clearance people were spot on. They found us a buyer quickly and managed the process well all the way through.

Sold a property with Carter Jonas Marlborough. Fred Ponsonby and the team were fantastic. They discussed options up front and we agreed pricing and marketing plan. Fred managed us through a complex chain to reach a sucessful conclusion. Communication throughout was excellent.

I have been living 6 years in a London flat managed by Carter Jonas (Cambridge branch).
The agency is the worst you can find on the market. Slow to fix issues in the flat, short notice for insurance or routine visits.
They usually complain if you call a plumber or carpenter to fix urgent house problems. They also complain when you try to fix problems by yourself (even if you sort it out better than a professional).
During the tenancy, I wrote a list of problems in the flat (tilings, noise, wall paint, etc.) and I kindly submitted it to the agent asking to fix what was possible to fix. Nothing happened for years!
Last but not least, after 6 years of tenancy, they asked me to make the flat vacant because they wanted to relist it at a higher price (+20% higher), telling me it was for a tanancy safety reason and not for money!

We have had an incredibly frustrating experience with Carter Jonas regarding the return of our tenancy deposit. It has now been over TEN WEEKS since we checked out of the property, and despite repeated follow-ups, our DEPOSIT HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED.
The agency has raised several unfair claims against our deposit:
Window Key: They are demanding £120 from our deposit for a key that you can buy on Amazon for less than £8.
Induction Hob Crack: They claim we caused a crack on the hob but have provided no evidence to support this, ignoring the possibility of a product fault. They tried to charge £760 for replacement even though the hob only costs £440.
Communal Hallway Damage: Despite having no proof that we caused any damage (and it not even being part of our tenancy agreement), they are trying to deduct over £300 from our deposit for scratches they have not even given us photographs of.

We appointed Fiona at Carter Jonas to assist us with selling our shared ownership flat with Curo. It was proven to be somewhat a difficult sell, however, Fiona had managed to secure our buyer and kept him interested and updated through out the process. Fiona really did an amazing job for us and we finally completed this past Friday!!! I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Fiona and your team for everything that you’ve done for us and being patient through out this journey. If it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t have had the success of completing the sale. I would highly recommend anyone to use Carter Jonas if you want a helpful and efficient estate agent in Bath. Listed in June, not a million viewers but given that we had an intervening (and disruptive) election and budget the 3 views we had gave 2 repeat views and an offer in August. I am happy to have quality rather than quantity! Also kept us informed of the progress of the sale - a better option sometimes than relying on your conveyancer/solicitor. Helped liaise with the buyer, and finally got us over the line! Happy days and a new adventure on the horizon with our next project house!

We recently moved from Newbury and had Rupert Reeves dealing with the sale for us. He was superb in every way.
