My experience is overall great except that sometimes the packaging has slits around the edges and the food is exposed. I am hesitant about feeding him it because he has such a sensitive stomach. I don’t care for the trays that are more elongated. They are much harder to proportion his servings.

This diet caused a UTI - had to take pup to urgent care
My dog has mitral valve disease so her heart is enlarged. She's on vetmedin and salix and now benazepril. I'd asked Chi Dog what would be a good low protein formula for my dog and her condition and they pushed their turkey formula as one that lowers inflammation, blahblah. A few weeks later, I had to take my dog to urgent care for a UTI. I was so stressed with her care that I didn't connect the dots then but feeding a dog anything that isn't low protein can cause a UTI while their kidneys are already stressed by the heart meds. So - a warning to others with similar situation. Don't let them fool you - if they don't have a low protein/low phosphorus formula, it's not good for your dog.

Our diets are formulated to be complete and balanced, but for dogs with specific medical conditions like heart disease or kidney concerns, we always recommend working closely with your veterinarian to determine the most appropriate nutritional plan.

Sadie Loves It!
One of my Chihuahuas, Sadie, was recently diagnosed with early stage kidney disease. She's always had a sensitive stomach. But when I put the vet prescribed kibble in front of her, she immediately rejected it. And I couldn't blame her. It was a hard oily kibble. Yuck.
I immediately started looking for an alternative and found your Water Diet. I liked everything I read about it, plus the Chinese medicine component. I ordered the 4 weeks supply. It was shipped and arrived within two days, packaged well and still frozen!
I thawed one package, heated up one serving and put it in front of her.
She gobbled it down and has had no intestinal problems, even though I couldn't introduce it gradually to her!
Sadie loves it and she's doing well on it!

Great dog food. The problem is not the food; it's such a nutritious product. It's my dog who has food aversion to the protein, turkey. We're working through it, adding 97% ground beef in a certain proportion. But he often doesn't eat.

Easy navigation to useful information and easy ordering
Being able to go to the website and look at the diets and get all the information immediately without searching was most appreciated. I have 2 dogs needing home cooked food. I was cooking 2 different meals . One for each dog. Being able to look at the ingredient and nutrition information w/o having to find it buried in the website or needing to fill in information for someone else to pick for me was what made me look no further. Plus as a holistically minded individual, I have come across and listened to Dr Bohrer in the past. It turns out, I chose the Fire diet for both my diabetic dog and my elderly dog with healing digestive issues. Both dogs are doing fantastic on the diet!At some point there is an alternative Chi Dog formula that I think would fit each dog to add in variety. For now we are Fire diet and we are all loving it!! For me the cooking had become a cumbersome , never ending job! Thank you Chi Dog! I also did have a minor issue with my order and I can also report that Customer service was great!! And all was sorted out quickly! A solid 5 stars!!

Great experience so far
I ordered the fire diet for my dog because she’s going through some significant G.I. issues. The box arrived late, two days instead of one day, but everything was still well frozen and intact. She is doing very well so far on the new diet.

Great customer service. I appreciated the initial follow up and they helped me determine the right amount to keep my dogs weight stable. Madison never complains at mealtime! This is a lower cost for me than JFFD and when I evaluated new options, I liked the company and the lower price was a welcome bonus!

Senior pug is thriving!
My senior Boston terrier/pug nearly died from the “ sensitive diet” kibble that we purchased at the vet’s office. He had severe pancreatitis and nothing was helping. Then a holistic vet suggested Chi Dog and our 13 year baby is thriving! He has been on Chi Dog for 2 years and it has definitely extended his life…quality and quantity!
