Parasol broke after used less than two dozen times
I bought a Shanghai parasol last summer which, for a variety of reasons despite this scorching weather, we have used less than a couple of dozen times. We had been quite disappointed that a number of spokes had to be reinserted into their holders each time we opened the parasol (and that several of those holders had become partially detached so were hanging upside down). However, that disappointment turned to annoyance when the cord used to open the parasol recently broke (it has frayed) meaning that it is now unusable.
When I wrote to Christows explaining what had happened and requesting some sort of refund I merely received a reply to say that I was outside the six-month warranty. As a lady of some 70+ years I have had long experience of parasols and all have lasted for many years. I see that this particular item has mainly positive reviews so I assume I was just unlucky - but all the more reason for Christows to take my complaint seriously, I would have thought. Seriously disappointing and a good reason to avoid shopping with this company again!

The Ordering process was really simple. Parcel was delivered on time. The trees were a present for a friend's new house and they were perfect, she loved them.

Delivery missing half my order, no emails and no apologies.
Ordered 8 items on 11th August with delivery estimated within 3-4 days. I was surprised when delivery arrived on 14th of August with only half my order. None of the emails from Christow or their delivery partner XDP indicated it would be sent in two separate consignments.
After calling on 15th August to ask where the rest of my order was, I was told that it was ok, it's coming in two consignments and it will arrive by Tuesday. No email confirming this beforehand, no explanation of why, no apologies for it taking a full weekend and 4 days later than expected.
Terrible customer service both from a buying and delivery perspective (I would have ordered elsewhere if it was going to arrive after the weekend), and terrible communication from Christow via email and from their call centre.
I would not recommend purchasing from Christow.

Lovely size but poor quality.
It's very pretty and the colour is great. But it was like it was second hand or something the wholes didn't line up and the draw when it shuts goes to far in. On one part there was no hole. So a little disappointed but the size is great.

Gorgeous but short lived
5 star product initially BUT...A beautiful parasol arrived promptly. We used it a few times then went on holiday. Sadly, after a couple more uses the winder broke and the parasol no longer goes up or down. I have emailed and received an automated response saying they're busy and expect 7-10 day response.
