Many reasons, but our tour guide, Francesca Bob was fantasic. She was thoughtful of each of us, taking into account our strengths and weakness'.
Of course, the scenery was very beautiful.
Our meals were great, as well.

Our trip to Glacier Natl Park was a wonderful experience! The hikes took us to many waterfalls, lakes, and so much amazing scenery. Our guides were knowledgeable about the area including wildlife, plants and history. Our main guide and driver, Francesca, was a gem. She was always thoughtful of our needs and kept us well informed of the days activities including any unforeseen changes due to trail closings. We really had the best time!

Had a great visit to Glacier National Park , lots of hiking to see the lakes and waterfalls the food was great too, our guide was very good she made sure everyone was happy. Glenn C

This was a very mellow and relaxing week with a great local guide and a well-planned itinerary. Nova Scotia is beautiful. Good walks. Comfy Victorian mansions converted to B&Bs. Good restaurants. Fun driver. Highly recommend.

The cultural walking tour of Scotland was incredible! The Classic Journeys signature combination of scenic hikes and historical stops is a brilliant tour design. Our brains and bodies stayed charged, and there was never a dull moment. The itinerary was thoughtfully put together as a sampler of Scotland’s diverse natural, historical, and cultural treasures (the highlight for me was the Puffins on the Isle of May!).

Guide Alan Wright was a true gem! A wilderness guide and historian as well as a gifted storyteller—he really brought Scotland’s history and folklore to life. Driver Willie, was terrific, too—a pro behind the wheel who provided friendly tips and conversation. We were in good hands all the way!

A couple of quick tips for anyone planning on taking this tour: (1) While you can definitely leave your heavy hiking boots at home, I recommend bringing ankle-height hiking shoes–not just cross-trainers or trail-running shoes. (2) Keep in mind that tour group will consist of people with different hiking styles and priorities. Whether you’re looking for a heart-pumping workout in a natural setting or a nature hike with plenty of time to snap photos and spot birds, be ready to compromise at times, especially in groups smaller than 12, as there will be only one guide.

Our walking tour of Portugal was simply
amazing. It was very well organized and each day brought an interesting walk and event. What made it so special was our wonderful guide, Susana. She has a wealth of knowledge and lore about the country and made it all very enjoyable.

The tour was well organized and gave us a real feel for the area including its history and its uniqueness. The hikes were very scenic and the experiences, such as the olive oil tasting at an olive oil producer and the visit to a Masseria to learn how they make cheese and then get to help prepare our dinner, were so special. The accommodations were lovely and our guide was really terrific. He was knowledgeable and passionate about the area and that added so much to the tour.
The food and wine of the region was also a highlight.

1. Advertise the hikes more realistically. Everyone besides me and my father were over 70 and not very capable nor knowledgeable about these hikes since they were written as “walks” on the itinerary.
2. Try to fit more time at the hotels into the itinerary. As much as we don’t want to be at the hotels into but rather seeing Sardinia, the hotels were all very cool and I wish I got to explore them more. Additionally, all the days are very full and the sun/heat takes a toll so more rest time would have been nice.
3. We do not need to spend as much time in some places, such as the Sheppards hut, like we did. Additionally, sometimes the amount of time we did wandering around towns numerous times or before a dinner could have been spent better, like more time at the hotels or earlier start to travel.
4. Allow us to have more dinners where we can pick what we eat. I did not love going to dinner each night to be stuffed when I really didn’t want to but felt like we had no option but to be polite.

Luciano, our guide, was absolutely amazing! Could not have been more helpful, positive, or knowledgeable.

The guides were top notch and the accommodations were outstanding! We loved everything about our Dolomite trip.

Classic Journeys and its guides make the travel experience personal. We have just returned from our family “group” trip to Iceland. Our guide, Atli, gauged our families’ preferences and capabilities quickly, was flexible with every participant regardless of age, made each of our adventures special. Each of the “local” guides assigned to us during various activities were the same … respectful of and flexible with each person in our group, answering questions, ensuring our safety during adventure portions of the trip. What a fantastic trip. Everything so well planned out, accommodations were first rate. Our guide, Marco, was knowledgeable and informative everywhere we went and he added so much to the experience. This was my second tour with Classic Journeys and I look forward to another one.

Our guide was amazing and set up local experiences with people she knew to make pasta, taste olive oils, eat a traditional dinner. We traveled in a private car or on boats. We stayed in two great hotels and one nice but not as special. We saw three different parts of the country and learned so much about the history of Croatia. I highly recommend this tour

Had a great time in Greece. We had wonderful guides and amazing hikes. We went to a small olive oil company and tasted their olive oils, ate lunch at a farm outside and had the most wonderful Greek foods and visited a monastery where we had lunch. Our guides were very knowledgeable about the history of the islands and also a lot of fun.

I’ve had two trips with classic journeys. My second most recent one was to Italy and it was amazing. It hit many highlights that I was hoping to see as well as hidden treasures. I did the Venice, Florence and Rome trip and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to see beautiful art, small villages and experience great food. Our guides were both extremely knowledgeable and engaging. The places we stayed were beautiful and comfortable. I can’t wait for my next trip.

Marco was the perfect guide ensuring everyone was comfortable and everything ran smoothly. He shared a wealth of knowledge of archeology, local culture, food, plants, animals, mountains, and waterways. We saw wonderful Inca sites and beautiful scenery. Truly a great trip.

Diane and Conrad were outstanding. Lots of different personalities on the trip and they did a great job working with everyone. Some were disappointed the sun came up each day. But we were really fortunate to have such first rate guides. Trip was a Great mixture of nature history culture and exercise. Would love to see those two again in the future.
