I had an ongoing issue with my ragdoll cat. Spent hundreds trying to get it sorted and quoted eye watering prices to remove a tooth which possibly was causing the issue.
Was recommended this practice by a friend, and called their number, the lady (Maxine) who answered was so warm and friendly and told me to call into their walk in centre the next day which I did.
I was introduced to Keith who looked at my cat and straight away could see the ongoing issue, he is extremely knowledgeable and gave her injections and put eye drops in to try and dry the infection so he could investigate further, and told to come back 3 days later.
Upon my return 3 days later we agreed to sedate my cat (she is a nervous cat who can come across as a diva) so they could look further and when I returned to pick her up 5 hours later was told he'd removed the rotten tooth (which i did suspect was the issue) and was charged so much cheaper than what id recently been quoted from another practice...over 1000.00 cheaper!!!
They are an amazing practice, extremely busy but you feel like you're in good hands and they listen and care and to me that is priceless.

We got our puppy from Manchester, they use different medication for their annual jabs than they do in Southport so finding someone that used the same medication was hard until Copper Beach said they do. Booked an appointment and arrived 3 weeks later to be told they don't have it, Maxine said "we had some yesterday and have ran out" whilst the vet said it had expired.......which is it? So after being told by other vets prior our puppy needed the same one as the one given in Manchester, Copper Beach gives her a different injection but in the same group as her original jab but she'll have to wait 2 weeks then come back for a third jab (which they paid for), then wait another two weeks before going out......I found the practice disorganised and don't have faith in the practice so we have gone elsewhere.

"I ended up walking out of this vet clinic last Friday due to the complete madness in the waiting room. The young receptionist (I think her name was Cat or Kate, as I heard management calling her that) was lovely and worked hard with a smile despite the chaos. However, an older woman was shouting at the reception team disgracefully, telling them they need to be answering phones, and then unprofessionally answered the phone mid-conversation herself. She even got into an argument with a waiting patient after trying to cut the queue. The environment was stressful, the communication was poor, and it felt completely chaotic. I felt so sorry for the team working there. Management desperately needs to step down and let the younger staff run things."

Came to copper Beach vets today as my cat Oreo was breathing heavy, we noticed her breathing the night before rang the vets the next morning went and saw Keith, what a disgusting person he is, told him what I’ve been happening with Oreo. He listened to her breathing with the stethoscope and told me she can’t have just started breathing like this since last night I said yes that’s when it started he basically called me a liar which upset me enormously I told him I didn’t appreciate him being so insensitive he swivel round on his chair told me to get my cat and get out and take her somewhere else. I have never ever experienced anything like this in my whole life this is meant to be a place that Care cares about animals. This man needs this place shutting down., Oreo is now booked in at Ainsdale vets for later on this afternoon when I rang them they told me that this is something that they hear quite a lot. Is people telling horror stories about copper Beach vets on real Lane in Southport to keep clear if you love your animals.

We sadly had to have our beautiful 14 year old Springer Spaniel euthanised. The staff including both Keith ( the vet ) and Amy ( the veterinary nurse ) were both compassionate and caring . We are grateful for all the care and attention over the years we have needed to visit the vets . We would highly recommend Copper Beech Veterinary Practice to any other pet owner .

I came to CopperBeech from another vet service.
So pleased with Keith & Maxine, & all the staff.
So kind, love all animals. It is a drop in service 9am /11am no appointments needed which is great .
I cannot express enough how good they are .
I have three dogs & two cats... ALL in GOOD HANDS.

This vets is amazing. What keith did for my doggie when another vets had messed up a operation he was so good reparing her and lived a good few more years. And when the time was too put her to sleep they were brilliant.
Still go there with my animals can't fault the staff and the vets there . They always go over and beyond for everything and more.
Would recommend these to everybody thank you for caring .

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING, MORTIFYING, DISTRAUGHT after coming here last year and he hurt my baby kitten 😢 Keith manhandled my baby by yanking him around by his ears making him squeak in pain. He falsely misdiagnosed my cat after only seeing him barely 10 seconds and not doing any proper tests!!!!! The way he spoke to us was vile and the poor vet nurse looked uncomfortable as heck which I can now understand, after speaking to several nurses who have worked at copper beech... But in regards to my own personal experience: if I had listened to Keith's misdiagnosis and trusted him (like you're meant to ) my merlin would be dead now. He's instead THRIVING: because I went elsewhere and got the proper treatment. Rufford vet fought for him tooth and nail going absolutely beyond - just look any good vet should. Keith wasn't interested in helping me- insisting nothing else to be done 'just keep him warm,' ha! Well understatement of the year! Because it turned out Merlin was actually seriously hypothermic. He just mysteriously turned so poorly after having his routine vaccine at copper beech 😢 not sure what happened but all I know is this vet was awful. Traumatised us: we only just felt brave enough to come forwards with all this.

Copper Beech is such a wonderful vets. They have looked after all of my dogs, from surgery to vaccinations and currently providing ongoing care and treatment to our beautiful girl Grace, who is battling terminal lung cancer. Maxine, Keith & the team are absolutely fantastic at what they do. They will never say no to helping, even if one of your dogs is extremely reactive and terrified of the vets. The Copper Beech team always go out of their way to help and make the visit as stress free as possible. Cannot recommend them enough, they are brilliant. Thank you for looking after all my dogs, we appreciate you so much.

Saved my dog after being mid-diagnosed from Rufford, Keith knew the problem straight away.
The vets and staff are wonderful.

We joined copper beech about a year ago Keith has been brilliant with the care of both my dogs cuff&Link max and the team are all lovely great pricing aswell xx

* Falsely diagnosed our 7 year old dog with untreatable end stage cancer all over his body, lungs and prostate and told us to euthanise him while he was sedated from his x rays as he wouldn’t last another 2 weeks. We refused and asked for palliative care given his happy demeanour and just the fact it was purely his Bowels not working right.
5 months later he was still kicking but still in pain and sad. We pushed for more tests and more x rays only to be told he didn’t have cancer at all!! We called them and all of his notes had ‘disappeared’ that should have been attached to his first x ray. Keith lied and lied.
Specialist vets did an MRI and it showed a hernia and swollen prostate, no sign of cancer. He just needed an operation of fix the hernia and neutering. He’ll live many many more happy years! They put him through 6 + months of unnecessary pain, laxatives(liquid paraffin) and no treatment because they falsely diagnosed him with cancer.. Keith is heartless, he felt my dogs testi and said ‘cancer’. With no reaction. They paid for the specialist vets to try and stop us reporting them. Attached notes where Keith said he had cancer in his testi from doing NO TESTS just feeling it. Specialist confirmed it was swollen and not cancer after biopsy done.

Great vets, never a problem and always make time to see my dogs or get my medication, even when they are ram packed they will make time for you!

1st class service as always with Copper Beech. Friendly, informative staff and always happy to help. The best veterinary clinic hands down.

Worst vets in Southport. Diagnosed my German shepherd with incurable prostate cancer that had metastasised to his lungs, pancreas and other areas. They ‘confirmed’ this with x-rays. Called me while I was shopping to tell me this news and asked very coldly ‘should be put him down now? While he’s sedated from his x-rays? He only has a week or 2 to live and is in pain’
We obviously said no. His only symptoms were being backed up and uncomfortable and soiling himself. The gave us laxatives and sent us on our way as ‘nothing could be done for him’. Months past and we were very confused. Called and asked for a second opinion. Went to a specialist who did CT scans and he said he had a hernia and swollen prostate due to age. They castrated him and repaired the hernia and said he’ll live a normal life to a normal old age!!
- following this copper beach denied ever saying he had cancer and deleted all the notes attached to his x- ray and told us they ‘disappeared’. Wouldn’t let us move him vets. Paid for the treatment at the specialists to try and bribe us to keep quiet but I still left a review on their Facebook page. Maxine rang me and left messages on my phone but I ignored them and I’ve left my review! I advise everyone to leave a review on Facebook and Google and this is what most people look at!

I want to say a massive thank you to Keith & Maxine & all the nursing staff at Copper Beach. My boy Timmy was very poorly & it was touch & go with kidney damage due to kidney stones, Keith operated successfully & the nursing staffs after care was exceptional, Maxine was so caring also. He isn't out of the woods yet but he's slowly getting there thankfully 🙏 exceptional care & attention highly recommended & the prices are really good compared to all other vet practices. 😊

Absolutely horrendous experience, and I can’t get out of my head what my very poorly Pip endured on his final visit . Keith caused him excruciating pain taking his temperature , then informed me he had a tumour when he had been treating him for gastroenteritis for four weeks.He was rough with him ,and his manner was abrupt and cold. I can not get the images out of my head , then his comment was , he’s given up , when Pip collapsed motionless on the table, obviously after the pain he had experienced .I don’t know how I’m going to get over this .Thankfully he didn’t move when he was put to sleep. Pip was my life for 14 years and I can not describe the guilt I feel for letting that man anywhere near him
