I choose CountDeFi due to their professed familiarity with complex DeFi transactions, and was completely shocked to what degree they in fact not only met my lofty expectations but exceeded them considerably. Before encountering CountDeFi, I continued to marvel at how much continues to be beyond the capability of some of the online automated crypto tax software companies, as helpful as such web-based services can be. I often thought to myself that the only way that the automatic online websites could possibly be right was if someone only did transactions on exchanges, and even then, the sometimes faulty APIs and incomplete reporting of the exchanges makes it not always as easy as it should be. Many of the DeFi transactions I had done were admittedly very esoteric and until I met CountDeFi I thought that no one would even comprehend what had actually occurred. In contrast to these outsized fears, I thought CountDeFi did a very commendable and systematic reckoning that was maximally comprehensive in my opinion and rendered values that proved to be immensely useful for needed accuracy in tax reporting. In so many words, they walked the walk in addition to talking the talk. They also provide rich detail with respect to the basis of their determinations and their philosophical and logical foundations of their analysis with technocratic precision. I assign a high degree of confidence in their determinations and they provide extraordinary value for the price in terms of the very high quality superlative net product they deliver to the client.

Esoteric DeFi activity is where automated crypto tax software tends to fall short, since it can't trace the on-chain mechanics behind a transaction, only the surface-level transfer. Reconstructing that activity by hand and documenting the reasoning behind each determination is the core of what we do, and it means a great deal to us that you took the time to describe the process in this much depth. We're glad it gave you the accuracy and confidence you needed for your reporting.
I had thousands of transactions that…
I had thousands of transactions that didn't have a buy price because they were either on chain transactions or were transferred between platforms. They were able to get those transactions the necessary data so that I didn't have to pay extra tax on those transactions. I'm very happy with the outcome because , in my tax bracket, I would've owed around $100,000 in taxes according to the new crypto tax laws.

On-chain transactions and transfers between platforms are exactly the kind of data gaps that create phantom taxable events if left unresolved, since the cost basis has to be traced back to the original acquisition rather than treated as a purchase at market price. Count defi did my crypto taxes this year. I am deeply impressed with their 7 step process paying attention to each and every transaction and they were really exceptional. Also they were very generous to comply with my request to give tax details for previous 2 years involving loss of BTC due to hacking. They have a high degree of consideration to customer needs.
