Having owned holiday cottages for over 30 years we have witnessed the growth of to many giant faceless companies to the detriment of guests and owners alike.

The truly independent ‘Cumbrian Cottage Holidays’ is a like a breath of fresh to the industry.

No queuing for hrs on annoying calls, no frustrating menu systems and no totally unhelpful ‘chat bots’ that serve nobody.

Moving holiday letting agents is always a big step - but we have honestly never looked back.

David, Julia, Gail and the rest of the team are always on hand to help both guests and owners alike. Their depth of experience is second to none.

Beautiful, well maintained property with a well equipped kitchen. The property has been skilfully modernised and tastefully decorated. The layout was super with a double bedroom en-suite, twin bedroom and family bathroom downstairs plus the same upstairs. Gorgeous views from the living spaces and upstairs bedrooms. Well located to access Glenridding, Pooley Bridge and stumbling distance from an excellent pub.

Very pleased with the apartment, able to use a couple of hours earlier. Prosecco appreciated.No tumble dryer as stated in description ,but clean with all necessary kitchen accessories.

If you are looking for peace and quiet and love being close to nature, I recommend this cottage.

There is often a hesitancy to rent cottages from smaller, less known companies. The Cumbiran Cottage website was easy to use, there were no issues with the transaction and the information provided to us about the cottage was accurate. We had a lovey holiday in a wonderful cottage. I would gladly consider cottages promoted on their website.

Stunning property, perfectly equipped, welcoming and comfortable. An excellent experience for our family of 10 covering 4 generations from 9 months to 90 years and our beautiful labrador. Surrounded by nature, deer in fields, house martins in eaves yet conveniently located for the Lakes, Cumbria and Northumberland. Peaceful yet fun! Great hot tub and garden.

The location of the cottage was fabulous and the provision of a car park permit was very appreciated however the cleanliness of the cottage when we arrived was not so good. Whilst we appreciate older buildings will always have spiders and therefore the odd cobweb, this cottage was absolutely full of cobwebs everywhere with lots of dust which gave the feeling that the building had either not been used for a long while or had not been thoroughly cleaned. In addition, there was no welcome pack - simple things like teabag, coffee, milk would have been appreciated and there was no washing up liquid or other household goods which we have always enjoyed from the many other cottage companies and agents we have used over the many years of having holidays in the UK.

A beautiful cottage in an idyllic location. Can't wait to return!

Barn Owl cottage was a bit dated furniture wise but very comfortable. The upside down nature of the cottage makes for a warm upstairs, and allowed us to watch the bat show every evening through the living room window. The double beds is large and comfortable, and the room is very dark and quiet at night. The cottage has everything you need for a week away including a dishwasher, washing machine, iron and ironing board. There is also a hair drier in the bedroom. If we had one niggle it would be the garden was is a bit overgrown. The cottage is very close to a number of attractions including a steam railway, winderemere and a few national trust properties. Ulverstone has most of the supermarkets needed.

Highly recommend and beautiful view and location

Second visit this year and didn't disapoint. Very comfortable clean and well equiped. Everything you need for a great stay with a bonus of the views from the windows.
