Attended the DSC1 course at Burghill, Herefordshire on May bank holiday weekend with Ben Lightowler as the instructor. I found the 3 day course to be very well structured and presented by Ben in a easy to understand format and packed with all the necessary information required to instil confidence to pass the test's at the end. Ben is very knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions I had.
Also had the opportunity to purchase some top quality equipment.
Overall, a very informative and worthwhile experience.

An interesting and comprehensive course well delivered by Ben.
Would recommend to anybody interested I learning about stalking or wants to extend their existing knowledge.

There was a problem with the software for the id recognition. Ben was fit to sort it out quickly. Great communication.

It felt like a major task but was very well planned and executed, I enjoyed it very much. The lessons followed the pre study material so I recognised the information with a brush up to pass the assessments.

I recently completed the Deer Stalking Certificate Level 1 course with Ben Lightowler at Deer Central, and I was very impressed with the overall standard of delivery.

Ben was highly professional throughout, clearly working to the BASC course structure while also allowing enough flexibility for candidates to explore topics in more depth where appropriate. This balance made the learning both structured and engaging, without feeling rushed.

Although the course I attended was made up entirely of men, I was particularly struck by how professional and respectful the environment was. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this course to my wife or teenage daughters, which speaks volumes about the tone Ben sets.

For anyone considering taking up deer stalking, I would strongly recommend this course. In my view, the in-person format is far more beneficial than the newer online option offered by BASC, particularly when it comes to understanding practical elements and being able to ask questions in real time.
