Speedy diagnosis leading to swift recovery and peace of mind
Speed of response was good, with a weekend in the way. Lots of precise diagnostic info, saving lots of time otherwise spent booking and awaiting an appointment to see a skin specialist in the flesh (excuse pun).

Can't do high tech prescriptions - misleading
Can't do high tech prescriptions. This is needed in Ireland for some drugs. Your pharmacy will request this so they can order the drugs through the HSE and privately. Offered same solution as my GP, creams that have not worked anymore. Service is very slow. First contacted, the 11th of December and hear back the 15th with other suggestions. Waste of time and no refund. Sent me a long email about it being HSE and my fault. which prompted me to leave an honest review. Website is dermatologist.ie with an irish flag, misleading.

This service is a private service Consultant Dermatologist to paying patients - for just about the same charge as seeing a standard GP in Ireland and we are available within 24 hours for the express and 3 days for standard service - and our service is unrelated to Irish governmental restrictions. The medication you requested is a highly specialised and restricted drug - not available through standard private practise and standard prescriptions - only available through specialist governmental channels not through a private route such as this which we have provided for many years in Ireland - we explained this is a long series of emails to you (between Dec 11 and 2 days ago) and provided a prescription for mainstream treatments and treatment advice - we have never said this is anyones "fault" - it is just the system which is understandably restricted for this particular drug (which by the way is certainly not guaranteed to work) - best regards in your search

Waiting time and cost
Waiting time get longer than expected. Consultation took 4 working days - 6 days including weekend and another 4 days for prescription. Also Website lied about price. It says 75 pounds I paid 95.

I apologise - yes we usually respond within 2 or 3 days for standard and 24 hours for the express service - the prescription service is electronic via another provider and is out of our control - but usually occurs simultaneous with the report being sent out - the price thing is something I am concerned about - can you please email us at online@dermatologist.co.uk with your case number (for a refund) and tell us where on the website the price of £75 is incorrectly quoted so we can correct that - please accept my apologies and use us again - regards

Quick & effective advice
The easy access online to obtain advice from a consultant dermatologist within 48hrs is worth the low cost. This is the second time I've sought advice from Dr Asworth on two separate matters. It's too early to comment on how effective this course of treatment will be but he certainly helped with the previous problem which prompted this latest request for help.
On both occasions and despite my GP's best efforts Dr Ashworth has been able to provide advice that my GP couldn't, for a relatively small fee. I wouldn't hesitate to use Dr Ashworth again for any skin problems I may experience in the future.

Thank you fro your comments - yes the value is undoubted compared to the high cost of a face to face private consultation - of course, the response to treatment plans is varied depending on very many factors - we provide a professional management plan from a recognised expert in the field of Dermatology - in the UK GPs get very little training in skin conditions and it isn their fault that they are often a bit stuck with skin problems - best regards

Exceeded my expectations
I decided to contact Dr John Ashworth for two main reasons , one being in total despair at my skin as I had come out in a rash , severe breakout and my skin was literally peeling off . The other reason was that I tried for 3 days to get an appointment with my doctor without success and realised it would be near impossible seeing a dermatologist through the NHS. I was getting extremely upset with my situation and paid for a consultation and a little extra to have a reply within 24 hours which was worth it to me . The firm was easy to fill in and I sent several pictures over .
I received my consultation around 10 hours later so it was a very quick service and they stuck to the times .
The whole experience exceeded my expectations, I was explained what he thought the problem was along with a prescription for some creams and antibiotics with clear instructions on what to do with them and when to take them . The Dr explained that it could take a few weeks to see any improvement but his treatment plan has almost fully cleared within less than 2 weeks (I'd say about 80% of my skin has cleared ) I have now got my confidence back and would highly recommend this service .

I had treatment from Dr Ashworth earlier this year, so I knew I could trust him. For this new skin condition I supplied 2 photos and he gave me a very helpful answer suggesting what the spots on my face were and the best course of action.
As his surgery is only 3 miles from my home, I made an appointment to see him next week. When all being well confirm diagnosis, freeze and remove!
Update: I saw Dr Ashworth on 28th August. He examined the 'spots on my face' and froze them.
Examined my scalp and also my upper half thoroughly! Not all dermatologists do this.
Very thorough examination and treatment, I am very pleased and will carry on seeing Dr Ashworth in future. Very caring🙂
And the cost was much lower than I expected 👍

Yes the freezing treatment (at minus 200 degrees) is effective in many situations - the skin goes red for about 10 days before improving - best regards
