Thank you for reaching out. You should not see any pop-ups requesting additional payment. DivorceWriter charges a one-time flat fee of $137—no subscriptions, no hidden costs. If you choose to add printing and priority shipping, that service is available for an additional $20. These are the only fees we charge, and we're proud to offer transparent pricing—something many of our competitors don’t do.
Please note that the court will charge a separate filing fee when you submit your divorce paperwork. This fee applies to anyone filing a new divorce case unless they qualify for a court-approved fee waiver.
If you happened to see any pop-ups on our site asking for additional fees, we’d really appreciate it if you could send a screenshot to info@divorcewriter.com so we can investigate further. That definitely shouldn’t happen.

I’ve submitted $137.00 without…
I’ve submitted $137.00 without hesitation to file an uncontested divorce. On the website it clearly states that it will take 1 hour to obtain the documents via email option. I waited 1 hour, and still did not receive the documentation to my email. Therefore only document was a divorce writer’s pamphlet, instructions on how to file but what good are the instructions without the actual “motions to file” documents. THIS COMPANY CLEARLY OBTAINED MONEY UNDER FALSE PRETENSES! I asked for my money back since they never sent me documents to file. The only response was an automated generated response with the same pamphlet sent in the first email. Which made me look a little further and discovered that this company is not even listed on the BBB. I would never recommend a FRAUDULENT company like this (not even to my worst enemy).

Reply to response: June 18, 2025 was not a federal holiday, the day that I submitted my payment. I know because my birthday is June 19th that falls on the federal holiday every year. However, granted as a benefit of a doubt that your company took an extra day off prior to Juneteenth, today is June 21st, and I still have not received the documents to submit to the court to file for an actual divorce. I have checked my email regularly including spam. As a result, I AM SIMPLY ASKING FOR A FULL REFUND SINCE YOUR COMPANY HAVE NOT MADE GOOD ON THE PROMISE OF PROVIDING DOCUMENTS TO FILE WITH THE COURT. WHICH IS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. SINCE IN DUE-PROCESS I CAN PROVIDE A LEDGER OF THE EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE OF “NOT” BEING A RECIPIENT OF OBTAINING THE “ACTUAL COURT DOCUMENTS”, I AM REQUESTING THAT YOUR COMPANY PLEASE REFUND THE FULL AMOUNT OF $137.00 THAT WAS SENT TO YOU ELECTRONICALLY ON 06/18/2025! YOUR COMPANY DID NOT PROVIDE THE GOODS OF THE SERVICES THAT WAS PAID.

The divorce papers that was given wasn’t the right ones for filing and was rejected by the courts. I asked for a refund and there was no reply back from this company. I am very disappointed and will never recommend anyone to do this

Great Concept but Not For Me
First of all, I think that DivorceWriter has a great concept going. It’s quick to start. The middle and end; however, leave a lot to be desired. I think that it takes way too long for your forms to be reviewed.

DivorceWriter is a tool for preparing your own uncontested divorce documents online, allowing you to get a divorce without a lawyer. DivorceWriter is not a law firm, and because we are not attorneys, the laws governing self-help legal products prohibit non-attorneys from reviewing legal documents. Instead, when a customer completes the online interview, our automated system generates the forms and emails them. Printing and shipping are also available for an additional fee. Any desired changes can be made by first revising your interview responses and then, if necessary, downloading and customizing the documents yourself.

This is the biggest scam ever! I filed in 2019. Got all my information done sent it and got no reply until I reached out again in 2021. Also got no reply now it’s 2025 and I’m still not refunded with no help.. huge scam don’t waste ur money here!!!! They are rude and very u professional!!!! They see on their website they guarantee 100% clearly this is not true they’re misguiding miss representing themselves and lying in false advertisement.

Update: While we are still unable to locate an account with the first and last name provided in your review, we did find a customer with a different first and last name who purchased from us in March 2019 and later contacted us in March 2021 to request that the filing state be changed from one state to another. Our records indicate that this change was made immediately upon request.
