Refund-Issues
I recently signed up for trainer for my puppy. I did the package with 8 home sessions. After the first session (the trainer was great) my partner and I deiced it wasn't the best fit. We are currently in the 30-day and eligible for a refund. I called Sunday 9/20 and spoke to a representative regarding the refund, stated she will submit it and all future chargers will not be placed. Woke up on 9/21 and saw almost $500 dollars was taken out of my account, I've emailed, left messages, and was on hold for over 20 minutes without speaking to anyone. I am a 19-year-old college student and don't just have $2,000 laying around, that's why I canceled it. However, with being told I wasn't going to be charged and then the following day being charged this amount is wrong.
*UPDATE* I spoke to someone very kind and she was going to speak to the manager. I haven't received a call however I did get an email back from support. They voided the latest transaction and refunded $3.75 to my account. I had one in person session and I paid them $485 dollars..

Great experience
Great experience . First time doing the training and the videos were so helpful and the customer service was even better. They were patient and reassuring to me about how to prepare my service dog . I will definitely use them in the future .

Do your research before purchasing
We purchased an 11-session training package and clearly communicated our dog's training goals, but the trainer repeatedly focused on basic behaviors our dog already knew instead of addressing the issues we needed help with.
Our trainer later had a medical emergency and couldn't complete our final session. I completely understand that was unexpected and don't blame them. We were offered a replacement trainer, which we accepted, but the replacement was never arranged and there was no follow up. We were instead encouraged to use virtual training, which wasn't what we paid for. For $1,595 we expected much more from Dog Academy. Would not recommend this service to anyone without doing their research first (at least in my area)

From the start, our team worked to accommodate your schedule, including waiving the reschedule fee on your first session and finding evening availability that worked for your family. Over the course of your package, you completed both Specialized Training sessions and all eight in-person sessions, and an unused training credit was converted into an additional in-person session for you. Your trainer’s session notes show steady progress, working through distractions and building duration on obedience skills. We weren’t made aware of any concerns about the focus of your sessions until after your trainer went on leave. Had we known sooner, we would have gladly matched you with a new trainer right away.
When your trainer became unavailable, we contacted you the same day and offered virtual training in the meantime. Once you let us know you preferred a new in-person trainer, we began reaching out to trainers in your area, including at an increased rate. Because this was a single remaining session, finding a trainer took longer than expected, and we fell short in keeping you updated during that time. We sincerely apologize for that.
Your account is currently paused at your request, and your remaining session is still available whenever you’re ready. Our team is happy to help arrange it.

Wonderful Experience
Christian was prompt every session. He explained everything he was doing and the reason why. He was firm, yet gentle with my very anxious dog. He answered all my questions and provided tips. After every session, I received a followup email noting our progress, clear steps on how to do that day's training at home and he was available to answer questions that might arise between sessions via chat room. Christian was personable and always professional. It was a fun educational experience for me. Thank you very much!!!

Would Recommend
The process was very thorough and made it easy to understand. The videos helped to provide additional clarity. The only item that was more difficult was the public transportation video. It was not outlined in the training, only loading and unloading from a vehicle. I had never used public transportation before, so I had to learn for myself and become comfortable before starting to try to train. With busses only running every hour it was very hard to do 15 minutes of consecutive loading and unloading from a bus training. That was the biggest challenge I faced, but that’s personal. I still give 5 stars because the courses, support and information were detailed and available when needed.

Old dogs new tricks…..
Although Sailor has been with me for 10 years and was supporting my disabilities with task recognition and assistance we finally decided to take a course. This course taught us several things we were unaware of and/or could work on. We spent some time at the mall retraining and I believe we are doing much better than we had been. Found the course informative and interesting, even enjoyed the tests!

Cameo is awesome
Cameo is awesome. She walked me through all the steps to get both my Molly and Cooper trained. I underwent difficulties with my payment plans, but Cameo was able to get everything worked out for me. She was a huge help. I’m looking forward to starting pups classes🐾🐾
