SUPPORT STAFF

SUPPORT STAFF IS USUALLY ALWAYS AVAILABLE AND HELPFUL. PROGRAM IS PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD. TRANSITION FROM YEAR TO YEAR IS SIMPLE.

TOO MANY UPDATES. COST OF PROGRAM IS GETTING A BIT RICH.

15 years with Drake Software

15 years with Drake Software. Easy to use, always happy. Their new auto enrollment and refusal to refund what you didn't intend to purchase makes me a past customer. Will never do business with Drake again. Feels like I lost a partner. Steph Doyle

Charged for Drake Portals 3 weeks before they "Auto" signed me up for auto renewal. Notified of auto renewal only after they charge d my card. Spent 3 weeks and a dozen phone calls trying to get a refund. Had to dispute the charge on my credit card. This is no way to do business with your customers. Won't spend another minute on the phone with Drake. Unfortunate since I really like the tax software. Not renewing the tax software for next year. They lost $3,000 for not refunding $300. Business sense?

I have been with Drake Software for…29 years

I have been with Drake Software for over 30 years. They have increased their price by $524 since last year. They used to have wonderful customer service and kept their price low for returning customers. Now their customer service isn't as good and the price keeps increasing drastically.

While Drake is still the cheapest…

While Drake is still the cheapest software available. The reliability of the software and the support has really taken a step back in recent years. When I call in to report an issue while they answer the phone which is helpful, when I suggest changes that would be helpful for the software I get the 'you could write a suggestion with...' Which I know is standard for this industry but I was kind of hoping for more.

I wanted to pay by check rather than with a credit card and was on hold for 15 minutes with the accounting department and no one EVER picked up.

More in-depth help with tax preparation

This software had many more forms available than my previous software. The diagnostics were much more in-depth, which has helped me to more accurately complete returns.

The new pricing structure doesn't work…

The new pricing structure doesn't work for me but I do understand its take it or leave it. Fragmentation of packages, adding features that I do not use. However, I love the software and the support. Just seems to be more profit driven than service oriented.
