Hi Darren,

Thanks for your feedback. We have checked on this one for you and can see that the parcel was dispatched from our HQ on the very same day as the order was placed.

It was due for delivery the following day, however we can see you have contacted DHL directly to change the delivery to a completely different delivery address. We can see that in turn this caused a delay in the delivery. We apologise for this, albeit out of our control.

Please note this review service is specifically for either our service provided to you, or the product itself. May we ask you kindly withdraw the review?

In the future, please do reach out to us to help with any issues, rather than posting a 1-Star review as this does not reflect our other reviews from other customers and ultimately draws down our overall seller rating - Which we work very hard to maintain.

Of course if there is anything else we can help with, please just let us know?

A Very Toxic Company...(see update at bottom)

Purchasing a £4k+ Cube Stereo SLX from E-Bike Shop left me feeling stressed and deflated, increased by their victim blaming reply to this review.

When ordering, Initially I asked for them to price match another retailer which they wouldn't do, I mentioned I had a Blue Light Card, so they painstakingly added a small 5% discount (less than other retailers regardless of BLC status). I asked if the promotional free Cube helmet and pedal set, but was told it was strictly for 2026 models. Because they had no discounted 2026 stock left (which was actually the model I was inquiring about initially), I went for a 2027 model instead but was denied the promo. I was also told margins were "too tight" to offer any bigger discount and that the helmet and pedal offer was only for the 2026 models, funnily, a week later, this changed.

The delivery experience was quite a nightmare which ended up costing me. FedEx repeatedly updated the tracking to "out for delivery," forcing me to take multiple days of unpaid leave/holiday time, only for the bike not to arrive. While I accept courier delays aren't entirely the shop's fault, E-Bike Shop seemed to have little correspondance with their courier, and I needed to intervene manually with FedEx. I suspect if I didn't, I wouldn't have seen the bike for weeks.

The bike eventually arrived three days late. No goodwill was offered for the disruption and loss of income due to their error.

To make matters worse, while waiting for the delivery, another reputable Cube dealer informed me that margins on these bikes are 'ok' — and offered me the exact same 2027 bike for £500 less that than their already discounted price. I was stuck in a finance agreement with Ebikeshop and couldn't cancel because they said they would not refund my deposit until FedEx had returned the bike to them, which judging by how it was going at this point could be another week plus, so I had to sit it out as I didn't have anymore funds available. Sadly this meant I had to lose the discounted price from the, in my opinion, better retailer. The retailer had the bike on order from Cube and it was due in to them in a matter of days and they were throwing in a decent set of pedals.

A week after my bike did arrive, E-Bike Shop suddenly extended the free pedal and helmet offer to 2027 models. I emailed them a little while later asking if they could honor this retrospectively as a small gesture of goodwill given the immense delivery hassle I'd experienced and the loss of earnings I suffered. As they were offering it now on 2027 model sales (i.e I wasn't demanding something random for free as it was an offer already available). This was met me with a rigid "computer says no" response, even after reminding them of the delivery fiasco, and the cost of such items probably less than £50.

As a business owner myself, I always look after customers who have been messed around no matter how small the problem was. E-Bike Shop chose to save their few quid in stock rather than show their customer was valued . The bike itself was built well, but due to their complete lack of flexibility and poor customer care, they have lost my business (and that of my family's) for life, and I'll share this experience with those I meet out on the trails.

Naturally I'll update this review should any warranty work be needed on the bike, good or bad. I have fears after how that will work out, so I hope it will never be needed.

I am still rather thrown by their response, we really are losing that care and respect of a customer in this country, but it is what it is. Choose wisely when making a big purchase, hopefully my experience will add some weight to that decision, but do shop around for the best company and price - I know where I will be buying my next bike from, the bike shop that is born free! (clue).

Update: While their reply is as expected - it contains a plethora of their true colours(they have since changed their review but messag me for the full original)

Weaponising "Good Faith": By stating they only help people who engage in "good faith," the company subtly implies that if you cross them or leave a bad review, you are an adversary who no longer deserves fair treatment or support'

Public Gaslighting & Shame: Mentioning specific details like "three weeks after," "retrospective freebie," and "highly discounted" is a calculated tactic designed to make the reviewer look greedy or unreasonable to future prospective buyers, rather than addressing the actual customer service issue.

Flexing Social Proof as a shield: "thousands of 5-star reviews" isn't meant to reassure, it’s meant to minimize a consumers experience and signal to others that their voice doesn't matter because "everyone else loves us." - Narcissism 101.

Punitive Tone: They have attempted to turn a routine promotion inquiry into a character judgment.

Thanks for your review Michael. I note that you almost exclusively leave negative reviews which as a self professed business owner I find a bit of a shame, given the weight they hold on the internet these days.

I feel it's important to address the inaccuracies in your review so future customers have the complete context of this transaction.

When you initially contacted us regarding a 2027 Cube Stereo SLX, a highly anticipated, brand-new release, you heavily pushed for a Blue Light discount. While we don't have a set policy for this on new-release models, we made an exception for you.

1) I personally approved and applied a custom 5% discount to your order.

2) This saved you £225 on a bike that generally sells out faster than its produced and shipped to dealers.

3) Deep discounts on launch models are practically unheard of, making your claim that we lack "flexibility" highly misleading.

You mentioned another dealer offering £500 off the exact same 2027 model. Cube is one of the fastest-moving electric bike brands in Europe, and the 2027 models launched just one month ago.

The reality of the bike industry is that standard retail margins do not support £500 discounts on brand-new, highly anticipated launch models. If a dealer is slashing more than £500 off a 1 month old release, given that we've lost over 400 bike shops in the UK in the years post-covid, it is almost certainly a sign that they are struggling and desperately liquidating stock to keep their doors open - those in the industry have watched it happen time and time again for the last 4 years.

While that might secure a cheap bike today, it paints a very poor picture for their ability to provide the long-term, future-dated warranty support you will inevitably need. We price our bikes sustainably so that we are still here to support our customers years down the line.

Your claim that the bike was "four days late" and a "nightmare" is factually incorrect. Here is the actual timeline of your order:

1) Thursday Evening - You placed your order online.

2) Friday - Our team built, prepped, AND dispatched your bike the very next day, despite the current seasonal load.

Monday: The first scheduled working day for courier delivery.

Wednesday: The bike was successfully delivered to your door.

The bike was delayed by FedEx for two working days, not four. Once a package is in the courier network, external factors like seasonal loads, vehicles breakdowns, closed roads and traffic are beyond our control. You unfortunately complicated this process by opening your own case with FedEx, while simultaneously calling our shop for the exact same tracking updates you were already receiving, pulling our team away from helping other customers and making the situation more difficult than it needed to be.

You reached out nearly three weeks after your purchase—not one week—demanding we retrospectively apply a new promotion for free pedals and a helmet.

Retail promotions change based on stock and season. We don't ask customers to pay more if a bike's price increases a month after they buy it. We cannot hand out free inventory for promotions that did not exist when you purchased. Less so when you had already received a customised £225 discount upfront which isn't available to those currently getting the free helmet and pedals.

We ship bikes globally and have earned thousands of 5-star reviews specifically because of our exceptional post-sale and warranty support. We go above and beyond for customers who engage with us in good faith. However, attempting to leverage a public review because you were denied a retrospective freebie three weeks after receiving a highly discounted, newly released bike is not a good-faith interaction.

We wish you the best on the trails.
