I completed a Solar PV and Battery Storage course at ECTA .I would like to share my honest experience with fellow electricians considering this course.

If you are looking for proper training and in-depth knowledge, this course may not meet your expectations. It seems more focused on issuing certificates rather than providing practical learning. However, if you already have hands-on experience in Solar PV and Battery Storage and just need a certificate for compliance purposes, then ECTA may be a suitable option.

During my training, I found that the instructor did not engage in detailed technical discussions. Whenever students asked questions, the common response was: "Don’t worry notes or books—on-site software does everything." This approach is not ideal for electricians who genuinely want to enhance their skills and understand the technical aspects. Of course,

this is just my experience in my specific class—other instructors at ECTA may be more knowledgeable and professional.

On a positive note, ECTA as a training center is well-equipped. The classrooms and workshops are excellent, and the administrative staff are very helpful. It has the potential to be a great place for learning—but only if all instructors are truly professional and committed to teaching.

I am writing this review not to discourage anyone but to inform future trainees and encourage ECTA to maintain high standards.My hope is that ECTA identifies and addresses any shortcomings, ensuring all instructors meet the expected professional standards.

As a gesture of goodwill, I have given ECTA a 5-star rating, acknowledging its facilities and staff support, while hoping for improvements in the quality of instruction.

I have used ECTA Training for many years and have always had a great experience. Just completed my Level 3 18th Edition course which was delivered by Mark Jarman who made what could have been a sterile 4 days into a very enjoyable experience - thanks Mark.
The whole team at ECTA go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The trainers are knowledgeable, very experienced and make sure that everyone is included and that the course is paced in such a way that nobody is left behind regardless of experience or age. All things being equal a very friendly and professional training centre.

Since I came in, they’ve made me so comfortable and learn more practical and in depth understanding about electrical installations.

Well presented course. All the staff were very helpful right from first entering the building. Enjoyed every minute.

My experience at ECTA was outstanding. My tutor was Ian Beresfed and he was a very good teacher. Very helpful and explained everything well. To the students who didn’t know much, he helped them a lot which I had noticed. So to anyone considering doing their electrical training over at ECTA, I’d definitely recommend!

Attended a single of multi course. Gained lots of experience and good advise along with tips on how to work better and more safer out on the field.
Hannah and Mark are top quality trainers and very friendly. Lots of knowledge and down to earth people. Made you enjoy coming in each day.

Would highly recommend ECTA as a training academy. Completed a EUSR certification course in dual fuel smart metering. Great course content delivered in an exemplary manor. Mark and Hannah teach in a relaxed but informative and professional manner. Would highly recommend.

Attended the 3 phase EUSR course at ECTA Mark Jarman genuine top bloke made even the boring classroom work fun. Plenty of onsite knowledge and experience and made everyone in the group feel welcome. One of the best courses ive attended. Would highly recommend ECTA the place to go for new and experienced engineers.

Completed a 3 phase training course this week at ECTA. High praise to their resident trainer John Bishop AKA Mark Jarman.
Mark has a wealth of experience, expertise and knowledge.
I have been in the metering industry 20 + years and can honestly say that is is one of the most informative and enjoyable training course’s I have attended.
I would recommend this training course to any metering engineer, regardless of experience as Mark’s training style will be of benefit to all.
The training was enjoyable, educational and delivered professionally with a high focus on health and safety, correct operating procedures whilst also focusing on the importance of the customers journey.
Only negative is my 2 1/2 hour drive home. However, thanks to Mark I have topped up my indicator fluid, so I will get home safe!
Look forward to seeing you in 3 years.

Attended EUSR single off multi phase metering course at ECTA week commencing 7th May.

Excellent training centre and thoroughly enjoyed the course. Definitely recommend to anyone who is a metering engineer or wants to upskill to 3 phase.

The instructor Mark Jarman was an absolute gent. The knowledge he has from metering, I don't think you'd be able to beat, but the way he delivered the course was exceptional, true credit to the centre. He had us in stitches the whole 3 days, definitely a comedian in his past life to! 😂

I've just attended a Electrical metering course in Stockport for 3 day 😀

The training manager MARK JARMAM was so lovely and made all 6 engineers that attended the course very welcome and the knowledge this man as is second to none... I can highly recommend this metering course to any metering business wanting to give there engineers the safety & electrical awareness we all need to carry out our daily task's in the metering industries.

Not to mention its very entertaining!!! :)

Done an Eusr course and was happy to pick up a few things that didn't previously know and enjoyed my time in class as it was engaging

ECTA has been amazing from start to finish, I’m on course to finish my commercial catering apprenticeship because of the outstanding resources, support and teaching that ECTA provide. With ECTA and my employer working together to achieve the best outcome for myself it truly appreciated.

Amazing centre, Amazing staff. Special mention for Mark Jarman, Hannah Barber, Geff Dixon, Carol Booth. Carry on the good work. Only criticism is I wish the centre was closer to London. Would recommend too anyone who is looking to further their qualifications or start a new career. Much love Callum.
