Efficient in name and in carrying out the up-grade.
Like so many others of a certain age, we are extremely wary of any cold calling. However, with so many hours to fill these days I thought this solar check would fill an hour or so.
I actually greeted George at the door with "you may come in but I will not be purchasing", "no problem", was his reply. "I can only give you facts and figures after checking everything".
After a thorough check George actually found a problem that we were unaware of.
After showing us proof of the problem, combined with the cost of replacing faulty parts, we agreed to have the job done without any discussion between us.
Two days later the job was completed by their engineer and all is well with our system.
I would certainly recommend having micro inverters installed, after just one month we can see the difference in the returns, as for Efficient Homes workforce, as a former employer I cannot praise them enough, they certainly know their business and go about their work in a civil manner with no pressures to buy at all. Well done everyone.

Engineers
Engineers, although subcontractors, turned up on time and were very quick to install the modification to my system. The system seems to be working well showing the output for each panel but hard to compare with the old system till it has been in for a year or two as output depends on the years weather.

I would just like to clarify we do not use subcontractors of any sort they work under Efficient Homes. What your relating to is an sign written van that is driven by one of our employee's who done your installation. I can see where the assumption has come from however that specific installer used to own’s a different company dealing with electrics only which was sign written on the van. Sorry if this called any confusion at all but rest assured they are employed by us.

A first class job in every respect
I cannot remember the names of the young men who came to update our solar panels, but they were first class in every respect. They were punctual, courteous and respectful, always showing care for our propery and its contents.The young man in charge knew exactly what he was doing and organised the job perfectly in my view. His assistant is fortunate to have such a competent leader as he learns the work in hand.

Impressed with this Company
A courteous well-dressed person turned up right on time to assess my converter. After a brief inspection he confirmed what I already knew, that I had a really good model that was performing very well. He suggested I keep an eye out for any deterioration in performance as it was nearing its 10 year guarantee. There was no hint of selling. Very impressed.

Excellent service
Being a carer for my Mum who is not very worldly wise when it comes to cold callers I was not very happy when she agreed to a visit from efficient homes to check the solar panels. I got straight online to check out the company and saw the good reviews so we kept the appointment.
The man who came explained that a new inverter would be beneficial making her system more efficient and give her a bigger income so she decided to go ahead. The inverter was fitted the following day. On checking for a reading to give in 3 months later there showed a problem so I called for help. I was told over the phone what to do but it didn't solve the problem so someone was sent out. The problem was soon rectified and all is now working well.
Very friendly service.

I normally ignore cold callers however…
I normally ignore cold callers however when this company rang i listened to what they had to say. After listening to their advice they came to check my system and found it inadequate! Arranged for them to "upgrade" to a better system. All in all i am pleased with this company their proffessionalism & honesty. Matt was very knowledgeable in his field of work, & Harry & James worked quickly with no fuss and worked efficiently together. Some company's are obscure and you never know how trustworthy they are, i felt comfortable with them under my roof and on it. Matt used no pushy sales techniques and gave me a low cost option. Believe me i will criticise when needed but on this occasion no need to. Thumbs up to all the team in Kent.

All the staff we have had dealings with have been very helpful & anything we have had concerns with have been explained in a calm & polite manner. The young man who came to our home was very aware of distencing during these difficult times. Something to cheer you up in these unusual times.
Today I have submitted electric meter reading which is IDENTICAL to the one on 12th March.
This is because you added a battery to our solar panels in December and this last month has been very sunny with longer days too.
And we have been exporting to the grid.

How to make a vast profit out of fleecing people
This company cold called to say I needed an inverter check as one had not been carried out after 5 years of system installation. An appointment was made and their local employee came out and said that the current inverter was faulty and I therefore needed a new one as this old one (5years old) was also overheating and a fire hazard. This was done without using testing equipment. It would be no problem fitting a new one in the next few days and Recommended a different model Inverter which would cost only £3400 inc VAT or I could opt for a better one ( no mention of being anything other than an inverter) at £4300! As I am not old or gullible it was left that I contact the employee if I wanted either model. I checked on prices to replace the inverter with like for like and found it would cost £1200. I was then recommended some neighbours who fit systems commercially and they confirmed, after a full inspection, that there was nothing wrong with the inverter at all and no overheating which could produce a fire risk. I warned other friends who have solar panels in the neighbourhood who also had been approached, I discovered, and warned them of the sales tactics employed. Had I been gullible and frail I would have been a good amount worse off financially. This is a disgusting way to do ‘business’ and the company should be more careful of the actions of their employees.

At Efficient Homes we work very hard at ensuring all of our staff members have the correct training and are very strict in regards to what is said to our potential and existing customers. I am extremely shocked to hear that this has occurred and would like to offer our deepest apologies.
We have been working in the industry for a number of years and have built a reputation as being a honest and trustworthy company as our trust pilot rating/reviews reflect. We have never had any complaints in regards to false information being provided to customers and take this matter extremely seriously. We shall be investigating the matter further and the employee in discussion shall face the correct disciplinary measures.
In regards to the cost of inverters, we are aware that you currently are using a SMA sunnyboy string inverter system. At Efficient Homes we work with a number of Solar inverter manufactures such as SolarEdge, SolaX, Growatt and many more however due to previous dealings with SMA we do not promote their products. The £3400.00 inc VAT was in reference to a Solaredge Hd wave system which includes individual optimisers, an off-site monitoring system and 25 year warranty. The £4300 inc VAT was in reference to a SolaX X1 Hybrid 3.7 triple power bundle which acts as an inverter and battery storage system combined. Both advertised are certainly leagues away from the SMA Sunnyboy currently fitted which you are correct in saying the equipment can be purchased for around £1,200.00. I hope this clarifies any confusion regarding pricing.
However, this is no way justifies any false information provided and once again would like to offer a sincere apology on behalf of Efficient Homes Ltd.

George visited yesterday to inspect my 9 year old 12 panel solar system. He said that the system was working well, and surprisingly did not try to sell me anything. Indeed, when I mentioned battery storage for night use, he said for my usage it was not economical. He left me his card for use when the inverter eventually ceases to function. If you are contacted by this company, accept a visit. You have nothing to lose.

Firstly in fitting optimisers they broke many tiles and only replaced when I refused to pay. The rep/engineer knew it was an old roof as I pointed this out at the start, he assured me the vans were like those of roofers. possibly still are, as we used my tiles and they gave me a small discount for this. When the monitoring system went down I contacted the suppliers, who the guarantee is with, to ask if it could be because the optimisers were laying on the roof, they said this should be rectified asap as it may invalidate the guarantee. This they have just done and I hope it saves my guarantee. I spent this afternoon patching the felt from within my loft. I would advise anyone to seriously consider the benefits of adding optimisers if you have very little shading or an old roof, if so you may not gain much other than the chance to monitor your panels. I also think it would be wise for this firm to get proper M.C.S accreditation, though not necessary for repairs I wish I had checked first.

Could not have better service from George, Ceiran and Jesse. Hooray they mended our panels in quick time and they are working perfectly. It was straight forward and we can now view our production online and it's good to see the little red light flashing on the fit meter and the figures going up. I highly recommend Efficient Homes Ltd.

We had a good experience of the installation. No issues. The follow up was planned on time but delayed because we were having the kitchen re-organised & so we were in chaos. Our fault not the company.
