I'd give 0 star if i could

I'd give 0 star if i could. Eir gave me a 5 hour window to install my new wifi. The technician rang me when they arrived (I missed it as I was on a work called). I rang Eir back 3 minutes later and they had cancelled my appointment immediately, as soon as he got no answer. Next available is nearly 2 weeks time. The technician couldn't of been 5 minutes away from my house and they would not let him complete the work. I also rang him and he's ignoring all calls. It's so typical of Eir. They give you a 5 hour window but if you don't answer a call within 1 minute they cancel your appointment. Absolutely disgraceful, zero customer care and any person I have spoken to has experienced the same. I rang Eir to explain, absolutely no understanding and resolve, just that my new appointment in 2 weeks and "I'll get a phone call in 48 hours to lodge my complaint" and pigs will also be flying. Hopefully one day, they'll be a competitor because it's only out of pure necessity that anyone deals with them.

From the very beginning of the conversation, she showed great patience, understanding, and a genuine willingness to help. Everything was explained clearly and calmly, and my issue was resolved quickly and efficiently.

Aggressive sales/cust service staff

If you want to be shouted at and insulted, then try and sign up to Eir, Tried to return to Eir today as a customer. Gave my details, IBAN etc. Sales lady rang back a while later to say they were cancelling due to alleged historic debt of 30 euro which they had now sent to a debt collection agency. This a serious breach of my GDPR. They have held on to false information and used it to deny me as a new customer. I explained that I had returned the equipment back to the eir shop in Ennis in December 2023. She could even see that the shop assistant had made a note of this in the system. She left me high and dry saying that she would need to sort it out with management and the collection agency. I had no idea my details had been sent to a collection agency and that threatening letters were being sent to my old address for the new owners to open. It is a shocking breach of GDPR and I'll be taking this further. Now I remember why I previously left Eir three years ago. The sales rep Joseph was very rude on the phone and yelled 'Good Luck' before transferring me to Johan who refused repeatedly shouted and refused to escalate to a supervisor. Bear in mind that this was me innocently trying to sign up to a 12 month contract with them after being a customer for many years beforehand. I've had a lucky escape this time by them refusing me as a customer. I'm very shaken after all the shouting today and the realisation that incorrect and damaging information was assigned to my name and shared with a debt collection agency. I owe them nothing for the equipment. It was returned to their eir shop just as they advised me to do. Their behaviour is scandalous.

Cancellation and refund

I honestly don’t know what else I’m supposed to do at this point. I’ve called eir multiple times, returned the device, and tried to cancel my service properly. Every time I’m told it will be sorted “soon,” but it just keeps getting postponed over and over again. All I want is my refund. That’s it. It’s exhausting having to chase this constantly with no resolution. Really disappointing experience.

Unhappy eir customer

In 2024 I went to the eir shop I parkway shopping centre. I spoke to the salesman and told him I wanted Internet and tv package. I told him we had the new siro cable and could they use that. He said no problem. On the day of the installation this guy came and asked where was my phone line. I told him it wad under the tiled hall floor. He said he would gave to pull the tile to access the cable. He also said he may have to run new line. I told him the siro box was behind the tv. He said eir do not use siro. I stopped him and sent him on his way. I then took all the items back to the eir shop. There was a new manager that had just started. They accepted them but said they do not give receipts. About a month later 100euro wad taken from our account for non return of items. I went out to the eir shop and told them what had happened. I spotted the new manager and she remembered me giving back the items. She said she could not give me back the 100 euro but she gave me 100euro phone credit.
It us now 2026 and I have just recieved a letter saying I will be charged 100 euro if I do not return the items. I went back to the eir shop and he said the manager made no note about the issue on my file. I told him that's nor my problem. He gave me a receipt saying items returned. I then phoned 1901 and spoke to them about the issue. He was no help and said hang on to the receipt.I am just going to have to wait and see if they deduct the 100euro.

Left eir, but still took money, months after leaving.

I changed provider from Eir, this January, because of price increase and loss of broadband for 3wks. I gave back modem, and final bill, in January.2 months later,(now longer a customer), eir took an unauthorised €59.99, from my account, my account no longer active, was not being recognised on eir free 1901 number, so I had to physically go in to shop to report theft. Finally got money back, but explanation of how this could happen, not forth coming. Nightmare, stay away!!!!!

Clowns

Clowns. Just cancelled the service before even installed as the engineer (who was promised to be from Eir and wasnt) couldnt install the service.
Then I asked for an email to complain. I was given this customercare @ eir.ie. Doesnt exist, rats.

Dire company

I recently had a very disappointing experience with eir fibre broadband and would strongly advise others to avoid this provider.

The service was clearly mis-sold from the outset. I was assured that installation would be straightforward, handled by eir engineers, and that my home was already connected and ready to go. None of this turned out to be true. Instead, a third-party contractor attended and informed me that additional work was required due to an outdated connection.

To make matters worse, I was told that trees would need to be cut back and that a cable would be left hanging in my garden—despite the trees not even being on my property. This is completely unreasonable and something that should have been identified before the service was sold.

I also incurred additional costs (€20) arranging for my dog to be boarded so the engineer could attend, which ended up being a complete waste of time due to the failed installation.

Overall, this has been a frustrating and inconvenient experience, with poor communication and misleading information from the start. I have cancelled the service immediately and expect no termination fees, along with compensation for the costs incurred.

Very disappointing service.

The worst experience I have ever had…

The worst experience I have ever had with a broadband provider. 1st year of contract was ok. Second year was a nightmare from start to finish. Coverage in house was almost non existent, bought boosters, was ok for 2 months and then back to old ways. Customer Care were working off A1 to try resolve the problem but to no avail. Overall an awful experience.

I just got a bill for a 108Euros when my contract ran out, When I phoned up I was told this was the out of contract price, This company tries to ride people massively
Totally no satisfaction when I phoned up after waiting for up to an hour to be put through

Keith Saves the Day!

My sister had a weird malware problem on mobile. Went to Eir Dundrum SC. As ever they were so friendly and helpful. Sadly I forget the names of two staff who initially helped. It looked like we would have to go & pay for a different security company to sort but Keith (Manager?) fixed in 5 minutes!!

Utterly Useless

Utterly - UTTERLY - useless.

Quite unbelievably useless.

There is no way this disaster of an outfit merits a single star but there is no zero ( or minus) option.

Avoid at all costs.

I spoke with Tiago today because my contract was coming to an end, and he helped me renew it at a very reasonable price. I also needed to add an additional contact to my account and update the email address. Tiago took care of everything quickly and professionally.

Lying sales representatives got a stupid Android box was a loyal phone and broadband customer the android box was free for 14days i cancelled it after day 3 never opened the package they charged me the monthly fee then phoned Dumb Parcel Delivery dpd set a date they collected it a month later got a 75euro fee for non return currently EIR is still charging me saying i own the over 1263 euros
