ELSA Avis 

I purchased the app and they charged me. I can proove it with bank receipt. However I could only use it for one week, now I appear as free account and I have a very limited access. I sent two mails to support team but I couldn't get any reply. When I look at my google play subscriptions I can see that I have one year membership. I want an urgent help.

Lost money and time. No refund. Apple denied my refund request 2 times and Elsa does not refund, sending me back to Apple . Looks like legal fraud!

A large number of courses, programs, and resources inside the platform require additional payment. I keep clicking on different sections only to discover that they are either locked behind another paywall or simply marked as unavailable.

The content actually included in my Lifetime subscription is very limited — mostly some basic grammar and a collection of phrases and idioms. There is simply not enough material for me to use the platform as a serious English-learning resource.
The platform also feels unfinished, with too many sections and features currently unavailable.

One of the biggest problems is the voice recognition. I can repeat the same word or phrase several times, clearly and in exactly the same way, and the system repeatedly tells me that it is incorrect or gives me an error. I try again and again, with the same result. For an app whose main purpose is speaking and pronunciation practice, unreliable speech recognition seriously limits its usefulness.

I find it particularly disappointing that after paying for a Lifetime subscription, I am repeatedly asked to pay again in order to access much of the useful content.

Had the limitations of the Lifetime plan been this clear before purchase, I would not have bought it.

I tried Elsa Speak for 3 months to practice speaking skill. It makes me speak more following the real conversation. After that, I can speak more easily.
One thing to improvement, the AI sometime grades my pronunciation wrong even I speak following it.

The worst app ever, I was tricked into it. I never subscribed. I tried to like it, but it’s impossible as it is to be refunded.
I hate this app. Shady way of making money!

I was a paying customer with a 400+ day streak built over two years. ELSA uses streaks as a psychological tool to keep users engaged, yet when I lost mine because of a bug or unclear rules, support only sent copy-paste replies: "our system has no record." Al Tutor and Study Sets don't count toward streaks, but this isn't clearly communicated. They refused to restore it despite helping in similar buggy cases before. Unfair app, terrible support, and no appreciation for loyal customers.

Ho fatto 2 anni fa l'abbonamento lifetime e devo dire che da quando è comparso il supporto con l'IA l'applicazione ha fatto un balzo in avanti, unica pecca è che va bene per chi gia conosce un po di inglese almeno livello A2 se partite da zero questa non è la app giusta. Inoltre poca grammatica e spiegazioni vaghe che andrebbero rinforzate.

I subscribed and paid for 1 year for Elsa Speak 1 yr Nova Premium last February until now I cannot log in and get into the app. I've been emailing them I only recieving Automatic response. Nobody can help. This is a SCAM.They will charge your credit card save in your google account immediately. They took 200$ 4 months now I still cannot access.

Sinceramente può essere utile ma non è l’app che si descrive di essere. Per tre mesi ho pagato 60€ ma l’applicazione secondo me non vale questa cifra e non penso mi aiuterà nella preparazione per il mio esame per il quale dovrò spendere altri soldi!

I’ve been using ELSA Speak for at least two years, and honestly, it’s been one of the best investments I’ve made in improving my English.

Even when I first started using it, the app already felt very advanced. But over the last couple of years, especially with the integration of AI, the progress has been incredible. The app feels almost unstoppable now — highly customizable, intuitive, and genuinely helpful for real-life language improvement.

What I personally love is that it doesn’t just help with pronunciation. My speaking confidence, grammar, listening, and overall communication skills have improved significantly as well.

I recommend ELSA to all my friends, and I always tell them the same thing: in my experience, it’s much better than Duolingo. I used both apps for a long period of time, so this comparison comes from real experience, not hype.

Before writing this review, I noticed that some people complained about billing or customer service. I can only speak from my own experience, but I’ve never had any issues at all. Whenever I contacted support, they were responsive and helpful.

Very disappointing experience with ELSA Speak. The app itself may help some users, but the subscription and billing system feels extremely misleading and frustrating.

I signed up for a free trial and quickly started seeing payment attempts on my debit card, while cancellation options were unclear and difficult to find. For a platform focused on professionalism, the billing experience creates stress instead of trust.

A company should never make users struggle just to cancel a trial. Transparency and customer control should come first.

Please improve your subscription management and customer support process.

Dopo aver provato Elsa, ho fatto l'abbonamento a vita. L'app è estremamente affidabile: ne ho provate tante, e anche altre lo sono, ma questa è senza dubbio tra le migliori. Un capitolo a parte merita l'assistenza: ho aperto un ticket per un problema di cui ero io il responsabile, e me l'hanno risolto in un giorno, con enorme gentilezza e disponibilità.

Ho letto alcune recensioni con voti bassi, ma non riguardano la qualità del prodotto. Infatti, prima di acquistare Elsa, bisogna leggere attentamente di cosa si tratta e cosa offre: non si può criticare un prodotto per qualcosa che non era previsto! In conclusione, a mio avviso, direi che è assolutamente valido.

This update completely ruined the app.
ELSA used to be the BEST app for improving pronunciation. No exaggeration — it genuinely helped me sound more like a native speaker. I could practice structured sentences, get precise feedback, and actually see real progress. It was simple, effective, and focused on what it promised: pronunciation.
After this new update, it’s honestly a mess.
The app now feels like a generic AI chat where you can respond with basic answers like “yes” or “of course” and it just moves on. There’s little to no real correction, no structured practice, and no depth. The core feature that made ELSA great is basically gone.
This is NOT what I paid for.
It’s extremely disappointing because this app used to be worth every cent. Now it feels like a downgrade in every possible way. I’m canceling my subscription because this new version simply does not deliver value anymore.
It’s frustrating to see such a strong product lose its identity. It feels like this update was made without truly understanding what users actually needed. ELSA was never about casual conversation — it was about precise pronunciation training for learners who wanted to refine their English.
Such a shame. This used to be one of the best language apps out there, now is completely garbage. Don't waste your money. Is not worth it.

Excellent app. Great paths for all levels of English. Well ballanced. You can master You conversational skill, as well as pronounciation. I really like it and recommend.

I’ve been on ELSA for 4 months.

I originally started just to improve my pronunciation, but along with it, it fixed other habits I had like rushing my words and not speaking clearly. After sticking with it, those problems are basically gone.

Good part is that people around me actually noticed the improvement in my speech. For them, it just happened.

Also, good to see the app keeps getting better, new designs, features, and the tongue twister lesson is a seriously great addition.

Please please don’t waste your money! I paid £80 and wasn’t able to get refund after 2 days. The app in not worth more than £30.

I signed up for the 7-day free trial of ELSA Premium. Unfortunately, I was charged before the trial period ended and there was no option to cancel either in the app or on the website.

The invoice says the payment date was September 29, but the money was charged on September 28. When I log into the ELSA portal, I can only see “download my data” and “delete my account,” but nothing about managing subscriptions.

I contacted support and initially only received automated replies. However, after some follow-up, ELSA refunded the full amount and confirmed my subscription was cancelled.

I appreciate that the issue was eventually resolved, but I hope ELSA improves this process to make cancellation during the trial clearer and to prevent similar confusion for other users.

I signed up for ELSA speak trial and having hard time canceling and getting a refund. The service is not helpful, the instructions to cancel is not clear and they just charged my account at 2am for the price of the whole year. I tried to email them only to recieve the response they won't be responding until Monday. These practices feel fradulent and unfail.
