I want to warn other business customers…

I want to warn business customers about my experience with this company. I reported a serious security issue in their loyalty system with huge potential to be exploited. Unfortunately, my warning was completely ignored. Instead of taking the report seriously and investigating the problem further, the company showed no interest in addressing a vulnerability that could affect their customers, they have never responded while being contacted on a few channels. For a business that handles customer accounts and loyalty data, where customer offers discounts/products for free, this lack of responsibility is very concerning.

I ordered from Embargo app yesterday 1*

I ordered from Embargo app yesterday and the order came incorrect. I called the shop I ordered from and they said ‘sorry, we have left the food here at the shop you can get a refund from embargo. I try speak to embargo and a agent ‘Monika’ emails and says they can’t refund until Sam’s chicken authorise, I then called Sam’s chicken and they said it is authorised, Monika says they haven’t heard back yet.

I am now waiting another 24 hours and Monika is not replying to my emails. Rubbish app rubbish company. Stick to uber eats and the normal ones, I will be.

Worst service ever.

Better off sticking to Uber eats and just eat I ordered delivery they delivered to the wrong house and the app kept crashing when I was trying to get through to customer service. This is outrageous I’m never ordering off this app again! What a waste of money!

We are sorry the driver made a mistake when delivering your food and chose the wrong door. However, we wanted to clarify a few facts:

1) We use the exact same drivers as Uber Eats (Nationwide), so this issue was purely down to the driver making a mistake (it would have been the same if you ordered via Uber Eats and this driver had your order)

2) You were contacted instantly by our support, who processed a refund and spoke to you

3) You can currently enjoy 25% OFF and a free delivery

4) We process thousands of orders weekly, and our support is working with no issues, so entirely sure why your device crashes; however, we will look into the logs. An app crashes usually on smartphones when the phone is low on memory or overloaded

5) By recommending ordering from JustEat or UberEats, you’re asking people to make the restaurants pay even up to 30% commission instead of single digits with Embargo, whilst having access to the same drivers, so that is not supporting your local businesses. This order was simply a driver’s mistake.

Hope you’ll reconsider your view. Thank you again.

Embargo is amazing and incredibly helpful for marketing.

Embargo has been incredibly helpful from a marketing point of view. I’ve used it with a client and it’s made a real difference in how we engage and retain customers. The ability to offer unique, reward-based experiences has led to a noticeable increase in repeat visits and loyalty.

The team is AMAZING (especially Tom!) - super quick to fix any tech issues and always open to creative, even slightly ‘out there’ ideas. The customer data has been especially useful, giving us real insight into behaviour and helping us shape more targeted, effective campaigns.

I’ve recommended Embargo to other clients, and I use it myself too. It’s a no-brainer if you want to strengthen your customer experience and retention strategy.

Embargo: More than a loyalty app


At first, we thought Embargo was simply a product with one feature: a stamp collector for clients. But once we connected more closely with their team and with Fred, we quickly realised it’s far more than that.

We were genuinely impressed by how powerful and complete their technology is: a fully integrated CRM, tipping platform, loyalty system, ordering for delivery and collection and with even more products on the way.

With Mayyil, we now have over 600 clients on Embargo in just 3 months, and that’s without even fully pushing it yet.

As Head of Operations overseeing 4+ branches, I can confidently say this is a fantastic product. Their customer service is truly 24/7. Always available, proactive, and ready to resolve issues quickly.

We have been using Embargo for number of years now in our coffee shops across London.
We find the application very easy to use and our customers love it as they can also use the app to order their coffee for click and collect service.

Solid Loyalty App

I dont usually write reviews, however out of all the loyalty apps i have used this has to be the best one. I have been using embargo for over 2 years and its been the most reliable loyalty app out there. Never had any issues and i am always able to claim my rewards at my favourite coffee shop.

Easy to use, set up and track

We recently started using Embargo in our coffee shops (Mouse Tail Coffee) and it’s been a game changer for us. Easy to set up, user experience is simple and back of house is well thought out / logical.
We now have genuine insight into customer habits, we are able to engage with them and reward them with ease.
Highly recommended embargo to any coffee shop or group.

I prefer physical loyalty cards!

I would love the cafes and restaurants I'm a loyal customer of to go back to physical loyalty cards...The app is often glitching or takes too long to load, it's incredibly frustrating. I'm loosing my loyalty stamps because of it.

A Game-Changer for My Coffee Shop!

I've been working with Embargo for a while now, and I must say their loyalty system and online ordering solutions have been a game-changer for my coffee shop. The stamp system they've introduced is both user-friendly and effective, keeping my customers coming back time and time again. Great idea but very buggy app that ends up ripping you off

There’s a bug in the way the stamps are collected. If you fill a card but don’t claim the free coffee, and continue to collect stamps on a new card then the old one becomes unusable. I’ve filled 3 loyalty cards and haven’t been able to spend 2 of them because of this problem.
Also tried to report this issue in the app but the feedback section is broken. Only place to flag it is here sadly.

Best app!

Best app! I preorder my breakfast and coffee and earn loyalty stamps - it makes life so much easier and I can’t wait to get my next reward. Specialty coffee is what I live for!
