Thanks for the fair interview

Thanks for the fair interview , I was there on time , waited in my car for a few minutes before I went inside the building , couldn't find office right away , I called Nicole Gregory and no answer , till finally found office and then some manager goes inside to come out and walk me out to tell me that Nicole Gregory had an emergency and couldn't interview me, very unprofessional for whatever the reason decided not to. If that was the case someone should've reached out to me and not waste my time driving there and give me that tired excuse to prove me right cuz no one called me back to reschedule interview
P.s. huge favor not to work for someone or company that have this kind of culture.

Reasons Not to Buy From: Employers

I used this company to set up a workers’ compensation policy, but unfortunately, my experience wasn’t great. My policy was canceled just one month after starting, and I later found out they use a third party for billing. Be aware that if you don’t turn off auto-pay, you may still be charged even after your policy is canceled or terminated. As a business owner, I value my time, and after spending so much of it trying to sort things out with different representatives, I don’t think I’ll be using their services again. Hope this helps someone else looking for an honest review!

Employer.com Charged $7,000 Illegally After We Closed Our Account

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience with Employer.com demands a warning. First, being in business for over 30 years, i know the difference between a real review and someone who feels they are entitled, I will tell you, this is factual and have nothing to gain by wasting my time writing this!
On December 27, 2024—two days after Christmas—Bench.co, a Canadian cloud based accounting company shut down abruptly with no notice, screwing thousands of customers and employees. The company went bankrupt due to poor management after their board ousted their CEO in 2021, which came to light after their shut down. Having used them since 2021 with no complaints, then throughout 2024, their services were a complete disaster—horrible is an understatement but they were paid in full and we had to make it work. They were hemorrhaging employees who had no clue how to use their software and zero experience handling company books, leaving us with a mess. Employer.com swooped in to acquire the wreckage and refused to honor our paid-in-full contract with Bench. We regained access in January 2025, downloaded the chaos they left behind, closed our account, and repeatedly told them we would not be using their services. Then, out of nowhere in February 2025, they charged our Capital One card (by the way, Capital One was no help) $7,000—over double what we paid Bench the prior year—for a renewal we never agreed to.
When we called Employer.com to demand a refund, their customer service reps were rude and utterly unhelpful, treating us as if we were at fault. No, you’re the ones who messed up by taking over a bankrupt failure and slamming credit cards with outrageous, unauthorized charges! They brushed us off, and Capital One ruled in their favor, claiming Employer admitted the mistake and promised a refund. It’s now been 10 days since they claimed they’d refund us, and still nothing—leaving me with a 25-point credit score drop and a card over the limit. Employer.com’s behavior, stacked on top of Bench’s year of gross incompetence and mismanagement, is unforgivable. Stay far away from Employer.com and Bench.co—both will leave you burned.

Increased price 250% with no contract or notice

I paid Bench.co $99/month for bookkeeping services since 2020. Employer.com acquired them in December 2024 and increased my rate to $349/month without informing me. Despite not having started on my bookkeeping for January or February books, they will not refund me those 2 months. The increase was 250% with no warning.

Not how you keep or get a customer

I am a former bench customer. My books were nearly finished for 2024 and now they are withholding my books unless I pay them a one time $1000 fee or renew my services with them for the tune of $399 a month without a contract or $350 a month with a 12 month contract. They tell me they are simply under no obligation to complete my books. Perhaps not, but this is not how you gain my trust when the company you acquired has gone under. I am a sole proprietor and shelling out another $1000 with inflation etc could tank my business. I am frustrated and appalled. I would think twice about using their services. Buyer be warned

Employer.com extorting Bench customers

Employer.com has recently acquired Bench.co, and is reforming the company - however intentionally extorting Bench customers in the process to try and recover revenue from the now defunct and bankrupt operation.

I have been a Bench customer for 6+ years, and have paid a minimum of $14,328.00 to Bench, likely a lot more - and I have already paid for the entire year of bookkeeping for 2024.

However, my books for 2024 are nowhere to be found and were never even completed to begin with, and we are now in February of 2025.

So not only have I not received what I *already* paid for - but they are now trying to hold my books hostage to try and get me onto a new subscription with Employer.com.

Not only unethical, but feels like a full-blown scam to me.

To make matters worse - I have even been a Brand Partner for them. Meaning over the years, they have had me create video content for them, which has associated my brand and my name with Bench. I have shared Bench and their services with my audience of over 250,000 people, my newsletter of 17,000 as well as close personal friends and colleagues.
