A very organised system
A very organised system, easy to use and to locate what you require. The system is set out in a way that IS quick to learn so you can't go wrong when using it. Would highly recommend to others to use!
Poor Ui/UX and information from CV…
Poor Ui/UX and information from CV often pulls entirely incorrectly.
Also in my own experience it has a tendency to crash when used on mobile devices, frustrating all and loosing potential candidates.
I wouldn't trust this tool for this most essential role.

Their chat AI is useless..
Their chat AI is useless... It gives me menu instructions that don't match what is on my screen. It requests a screenshot of what the App displays. I upload the requested screenshot and still the AI gives me an answer that makes no sense, referring to a menu that clearly is not visible in my screenshot.
It is so hard to get hold of live support.
I've been with them for 3 years and it's only getting worse.
Payroll system limitations / issues during processing.
1) It is not possible to generate two separate payment files within a single pay run. The system does not support processing wages via ABA and deductions via BPAY in the same pay run. As a result, I will need to manually set up the BPAY payment in the bank.
2) Within the payroll platform, it is difficult to disable the import of volunteer shifts. If I select “import all unpaid timesheets up to date” which I had to choose in order to capture all backpays, some volunteer shifts appear to have already been imported, and I am unable to clearly identify which shifts may have been partially processed or in transit on my end unless confirmed with HR.
3) The system does not always accurately reflect changes to one employee’s working pattern, one of examples is Lara C transitioned from casual to permanent on the 17th however, only her casual timesheets have been imported into the payroll platform ending 23rd of Feb, despite her details being updated in EH.
4) When no timesheets are imported for certain employees, I am required to manually remove them from the pay run, which is time-consuming and inefficient

Employment Hero is always improving - I have been using it for over a year now and the addition of AI tools and LMS functionality have kept it up to date. I have begun to use the ATS system, which appears to be working well too. There have been a couple of minor snags - but they have been quickly resolved by the support team. Recommended

Firstly, I've noticed some really good and important updates with Employment Hero that have made the overall experience very easy to use. I appreciate how everything is organised and how easily I can navigate through the app. The website is straightforward and provides all the necessary tools for managing both myself and other employees.
The roster section is a bit complex, and I think it could be streamlined. However, I understand the performance might be slower due to the number of different rotas and employees it manages.
Overall, I'm very happy with the app and I'm looking forward to any new features added in future updates.

Timesheets are easy to upload and it's good having most things in one place. However we are having to use multiple accounts so that we can view rosters. Everything would be much better in one place.
Sneaky and greedy
After explaining what solutions I was looking for in a platform, I was signed up to the trial. However, the trial only has certain features to dabble with.
I was not able to test out all the features I was looking for, I expressed this concern, yet I was pressured (they will use the word “reassured”) into committing to a 12 month contract worth $1188 at $90 per month, except once it’s all done it’s actually $99 per month, but anyway.
Once I had the full functionally of the program, I’m able to test the features I was needing and unfortunately, they didn’t meet my expectations, something I could have determined before hand if their trials were actually useful and contained all the functions.
I let them know very quickly that this actually isn’t going to meet my needs and that I wished to cancel my contract. But of course, their greedy little paws have been deducting $99 every month since, when I never even used the program past the set up stage.
Sure, they offered extra support in setting up and navigating the features but the features themselves were not as I hoped for, so extra support would have just been a waste of everyone’s time.
And obviously there’s no cooling off period clause in their contracts, because that would allow people to back out once they realise the program isn’t fitting for their needs.
This program would probably suit a lot of business’s needs, but you just have to sorta hope it fits yours because you can’t actually fully trial it before they rob you :)

We have been long time users of Employment Hero and I can definitely recommend this HRIS to a small to medium size business. In addition to keeping all of our employee records and data in a central location, we also run performance reviews, onboarding and offboarding, confidential management notes, e-learning courses, goals and more from here.
The self service functionality means all staff are responsible for updating their personal and pay records. The chatbot is very helpful when I need advice and a person is never too far away when AI can't assist. We are also running cascading Goals from Employment Hero to align staff to business strategy.
I am currently enjoying the Reporting functions. We are all growing to rely more and more on data and EH makes retrieving employee data very easy.

We have found Emloyment Hero to be a really helpful, all‑in‑one platform for managing our people processes across a national team.
Having HR admin, leave management, employee records, and self‑service in one place has reduced manual work and made things simpler for both our People & Culture team and managers. Access to real‑time info supports better conversations and takes a lot of the back‑and‑forth out of day‑to‑day admin.
We’ve also made good use of the LMS for training and learning, which helps us deliver and track essential training in a consistent way across the organisation — particularly valuable for onboarding and compliance.
Like most HR systems, it takes a bit of setup and internal guidance to really get the most out of it, but once it’s embedded, it becomes a dependable and easy‑to‑use tool.
Overall, Employment Hero has helped us work more efficiently and spend more time focusing on what matters most - supporting our people.
