Had a puncture hole in a wheel. EMS were recommended by Bretts Tyres in Bexhill and they were great. I'm not a tradesman but they were friendly and open. The wheel mended very quickly at a good price.

We have had a great experience with EMS who removed a 50 year old heat exchange system in our Church basement for a modern version. This was not a straight forward job but EMS bent over backwards in terms of communication, turning up when they said they would. They have a very professional fitting team who didn't cut corners and carried out a thorough job. We are delighted with the results.

We had a problem with our domestic boiler just before Christmas. We contacted EMS who attended our property within 24 hours. Boiler was over 20 years old and not surprisingly needed replacing. We received our quotation for replacement and installation and on comparison was highly competitive. New boiler and fittings were ordered the next day and installation completed within a week. Exceptional service, all compliance paperwork emailed over on completion.

I've worked with EMS over many years, first with Jim and now with Ryan. They've just made a beautiful copper and stainless steel bar for new The Long Man Inn in Wilmington which looks absolutely stunning. Their work is always first class, delivered on time and in my experience worth every penny.

EMS Ltd have just completed the fabrication and installation of a stainless steel frame at The Devonshire Park Eastbourne for Eastbourne Borough Council, funded by grants obtained from The John Jackson Trust and The Duke of Devonshire's Charitable Trust by The Eastbourne Society. This will form the basis of a reconstruction of a historic miniature temple that was put up in 1895 for a workman's fair and removed due to rusting metal in 1980. EMS carried out this work with great diligence, on time and on budget. Their helpful approach ensured that the work went ahead without any problems. Sadly their excellent work will be covered by a reconstituted Bath Stone facing to form the temple but it should last for many years with no rust! Richard Crook JDC Architects.

A previous review mentioned “honest and trustworthy”. I would like to add and expand somewhat on that.
Upfront, I retired as a Structural Engineering Consultant about ten years ago. My requirement was for a bespoke external two flight staircase to replace a temporary timber structure giving access to a first floor storeroom above a double garage. See before and after photos on Google Reviews.
I had great hesitation in choosing which Fabricator to go with: too big and I’d always be at the back of the queue, too small and they’d lack the necessary expertise.
The brief was to utilise 8No existing half-brick foundation points, to re-use existing Grip Clad GRP treads and landings and moreover, to also mimic a Victorian Railway architecture appearance. Superficially simple but with numerous pitfalls. Corrosion protection standard to be hot dipped galvanised throughout for a minimum 20-year service lifespan.
To be honest, I didn’t think EMS would be interested. The job would be too small. Wrong, they were happy to give this a go without hesitation.
So herewith, my review on the entire procurement process.
Communications:
Excellent, from the start, right through to completion. By return. Mostly by email but also on the ‘phone.
Budget:
An estimate based on a few photos of the original held good throughout.
Survey and Quotation:
Very thorough and as it transpired, completely accurate. EMS made several valued suggestions as to how fabrication could be simplified whilst at the same time making aesthetic enhancements. This was a great two-way process.
Building Regulations:
This was never going to be a Building Regulations compliant project; access was only needed to a three-quarter height double door at first floor level with an upper landing kept intentionally low to avoid overlooking neighbours.
Adherence to domestic floor loading and handrail lateral load criteria were necessary but the need for “fire escape” type balustrading was omitted at my specific request. EMS took some persuading but thankfully, eventually complied when I insisted on taking full liability in that regard!
Fabrication drawings:
A PDF file General Arrangement drawing was submitted to me for my comments, upon which I had several requests. All were incorporated without hesitation or indeed, any cost implications.
Once the principal layout and dimensions were agreed then fabrication commenced. There was no need to get involved with approving fabrication drawings for each steelwork component. I was also kept updated with build photos.
Programme:
Once dates were agreed between us, they were fully complied with.
Transport and Erection:
The specification included a Powder Coated RAL colour finish. EMS went to great lengths to protect the finish during transport, laying out on site and subsequently, steelwork erection.
There were a couple of minor dimensional mismatches, but these were easily overcome. If anyone tells you any job is perfect then they are lying, take my word for it.
Recommendation?:
I’m now contemplating installing a raised steelwork solar panel array support structure. I’ll have no hesitation in going back to EMS, thoroughly recommended.

I contacted EMS with regards to having some handrails fitted to our steps after my wife had a full, I spoke to Richard who was very helpful and no matter how much I changed the design he always came up with an answer, he informed us when the items had been fabricated and sent for galvanised and powder coating.
On the day of fitting the two gentlemen arrived on time, who carried out the work to a very high stranded, they removed all the waste materials and washed down the steps before leaving
I can only say that the service we received was Excellent, customer service Excellent .

From start to finish my project was handled very professionally and I found the team were very helpful and friendly from the outset.
Once the quotation was received the work was carried out to the time scale promised and the finished project was excellent.

EMS recently modified a set of access steps for us. The stairs were collected and re-installed when they said they would be. Communication was excellent and any change was discussed beforehand. Highly recommend.
