Avoid Enterprise Rent-A-Car at Zurich…
Avoid Enterprise Rent-A-Car at Zurich Airport at all costs.
This has been, without question, the worst car rental experience I have ever had.
After returning the vehicle, I was accused of causing damage that I firmly dispute. I immediately provided timestamped photographs, a detailed timeline, and all the evidence available to support my position. Despite this, my claim was rejected.
What is most concerning is that I repeatedly asked Enterprise to provide objective evidence proving that the damage occurred while the vehicle was in my possession. They did not provide the evidence I requested. Instead, they simply maintained their position and closed the case.
As a customer, I expected a fair and transparent investigation based on verifiable facts. Instead, I received generic responses without addressing the key questions I raised.
If you decide to rent a car here, please protect yourself:
* Take hundreds of high-resolution photos before leaving the parking area.
* Record a complete 360° video of the vehicle.
* Photograph every wheel, bumper, door edge, roof, windshield, mirrors and interior.
* Repeat the entire process immediately before returning the vehicle.
* Keep all timestamps, GPS records and documents.
Without this level of documentation, you may find yourself in the same situation I experienced.
Customer trust should be built on transparency and evidence. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Enterprise at Zurich Airport.
Until this matter is handled fairly and supported by objective evidence, I cannot recommend this location to anyone. There are many other rental companies at Zurich Airport that deserve your business far more than this one.
I hope this review helps other travellers avoid going through the same stressful experience.
Systematic fraudster's
Hired car from Geneva airport which they said was in perfect condition, on examination it was not so took photo's all round. When we returned the car they stated we had scratch an alloy wheel despite it being on a time stamped photo when we collected the car. Two weeks later the charged 440chf for damage they said was 320chf despite not even completing their own internal investigation. I wonder how many other people have been charged for the scratched alloy? they need investigating by the Swiss police.
Excellent Service from Isa & an Amazing MINI Experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐rience with Alamo in Zurich was…
Our experience with Alamo in Zurich was excellent from start to finish. We were assisted by Isa on Thursday, 2 June, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was friendly, welcoming, professional, and took the time to make sure everything was clear. Her positive attitude made the pickup process smooth and enjoyable.
Isa gave us a MINI Sport "Go-Kart" Edition, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Although it's a compact car, it was incredibly fun to drive. It was fast, responsive, flexible, and very easy to handle, whether driving through the city or on the highway. The "go-kart" driving feel really lives up to its name and made every journey enjoyable.
We absolutely loved the whole experience with Alamo. Great customer service, a fantastic car, and an unforgettable driving experience. Thank you, Isa, for making our rental so special—we would happily rent from Alamo again!
Do not rent a car from Enterprise cars
There was only one area of damage on the vehicle. However, the damage assessment was greatly exaggerated, claiming that multiple components had been damaged, which was simply not true.
Ironically, most of Enterprise's own inspection photographs clearly show that these parts were not broken or damaged. Despite this evidence, the incorrect damage assessment was never reviewed or corrected.
Even more disappointing, Customer Services refused to carry out any independent review or reassessment of the case.
I am now looking for the appropriate regulatory authority or consumer protection body in Switzerland to file a formal complaint. If anyone has experience with this process or can recommend the correct organisation, I would greatly appreciate your advice.
Poor Service
Poor Service, Misleading information. They will not reply to my emails. I have had an account with them for 10 years and they have went downhill so much. I just just tried to close my account and even that is difficult. I can see by the other messages that they don't follow up on here either. That's a shame, i will need to look for another rental company.
Enterprise Zurich will try to SCAM you
They will try to SCAM you. My friends and I hired x2 vehicles from Enterprise Zurich. They will try to sell you the pre-paid fuel option. Myself and the other driver specifically asked the sales counter staff on three separate occasions if unused fuel is refunded at the end of the trip. We were verbally told on each occasion that unused fuel IS refunded. The counter staff deliberately misinformed us as unused fuel is not refunded (I should have read the small print but instead decided to trust the sales staff). I have tried to get an explanation as to why the staff deliberately misled us and I am now being ignored by customer services. In the interest of fairness, the rest of our experience with this company was actually very good, which actually makes the whole situation even more disappointing
Enterprise Rent-A-Car Geneva Airport - Inspection Failure is now my Psychological Burden
Enterprise Rent-A-Car Geneva Airport notifying me of a potential a damage to my rental for vanity mirror damage that was (1) pre-existing, (2) not documented in my check-out report, and (3) reported by me in writing before I even returned the vehicle. Interior vanity mirrors are not a standard inspection item and were never shown to me at pickup. Despite clear email evidence that I flagged this proactively, they are pursuing charges. Be warned: this company will charge you for anything not documented at pickup, even items they themselves didn’t check.
Zero Excess coverage ignored — tried to charge for damages anyway
Rented a vehicle from Enterprise Zurich Airport in April 2026. Despite having explicitly purchased Zero Excess protection, Enterprise proceeded to claim CHF 1,476.86 for a minor accidental scuff — completely disregarding the coverage I had paid for.
Multiple emails, two unanswered support tickets, and several phone attempts with no response were needed before the dispute was finally resolved. No customer should have to fight this hard to enforce a protection they have already paid for.
Document everything and be prepared to push back firmly.
Customer Services Cannot Answer a direct question
Despite repeated requests, the company declined to provide invoices, technical justification, or evidence demonstrating why a full windscreen replacement was necessary for extremely minor <1mm stone chips. No proof that the work was even carried out.
They also tried to scam me for money…
They also tried to scam me for money for a white dot on a black part of the windscreen they supposedly found on my return of the rental car. Got a lawyer involved, did not pay a penny. Additionally went to the police and left a complaint for fraud.
Such a dishonest company.
After collecting the car, we already had a bad feeling and talked about how it was probably a good thing that we had taken plenty of photos of the vehicle. Less than 10 minutes after leaving the airport, we realized that we had probably forgotten to photograph the rims, so we stopped to do that. There was clearly damage to at least 3 out of the 4 rims, and we got good photos of them. After returning the car, Enterprise claimed that we had caused the damage, which would simply not have been possible within 10 minutes. We were never anywhere near a curb. It very much looks like a fixed procedure where customers are charged for damage that was already present when the car was handed over, and which in all likelihood is never even repaired in reality. I rent cars 5–6 times a year, and I have never experienced such a dishonest company.
Unauthorized charge added without consent
I rented a car at Zurich Airport and the agent added a prepaid fuel package to my contract without saying a single word about it. He didn’t show me what I was signing on the digital device and when I asked why the total was 223.92 CHF, he confidently told me it was only the insurance and the additional driver. That was simply false.
I picked up the car full and returned it full. I have the official document proving this. There is absolutely no scenario where I would ever buy a fuel package I did not need, did not ask for and definitely did not agree to. Yet it magically appeared on my contract.
The local office refused to deal with the issue properly, so I contacted several organisations including Ombudsman Touristik, Zurich Airport Customer Relations, Enterprise Europe Head Office, the Swiss Fairness Commission and Flughafen Zürich AG. I have also initiated a chargeback with my bank because the charge was unauthorized.
If this is how customers are treated at an international airport location, then something is seriously wrong with the way this company operates.
Repair claim scam
I was forced to pay for repair of damages that was already on the car when I got it.
When I rented the car there was multiple damages on the car that was not in the damage report. I got an agent on site to inspect the car and she added multiple new damages. There was a couple of damages that she told me was "too small to matter" and didn't register. I accepted although I was never presented with the updated damage report.
Obviously I should have insisted because to my surprise I got a claim on these damages that were "too small to matter". A lot of forth and back on the matter (I have two colleagues that can confirm the scratches were there), but no luck as I could not present any picture evidence. In retrospect I should not have accepted the "too small to matter", but you live and your learn. Never renting from there again
Do not use this company
Do not use this company - the service was rude and slow and after they tried to charge me over £400 for a minor scratch to a wheel which could not be seen
avoid!
If I could rate 0 I would
If I could rate 0 I would. Absolute shocker, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Paid for 8 days hire, got a puncture front right after 2 hours, car did not have spare or repair kit so no choice but to get a recovery. Car taken to garage, despite them stating they would get a taxi for us to get a new car this never arrived, hours wasted on the phone trying to get a new vehicle, no car was provided. Had to pay nearly 300 euro to get a taxi back to the airport on the last day, the desk stated that we will still be charged a bargain c600 euro for the privilege- more than the hire.
Wish I had seen these reviews before…
Wish I had seen these reviews before booking. This was a company travel booking and car collection and handover was good. I was surprised at the amount of damage recorded on the handover documents with a significant number of panels having recorded minor scrapes and dents. Checked all over and some were extremely hard to spot. But signed and took the car away. On return the area was extremely busy and a young lady took the keys. Confirmed what bay I had parked the car in and then said thank you, I’ll send over your agreement by email. A week later I have been presented with an invoice for alleged scrapes to a wing mirror. I can categorically state this did not occur during my hire period. I’m now left trying to resolve this remotely. Absolute scam artists. AVOID AVOID AVOID
DO NOT HIRE A CAR FROM THESE ABSOLUTE CON ARTISTS ZURICH AIRPORT
Please do not give these people you custom they will rip you off .
I hired a car from them when i got to the check in a couple of extra charges went on which i wasn’t happy about but accepted .
Went to pick up the car and thank god myself my mum and partner all went round the car and took very detailed photos of all of the car inside and out we then uploaded all of the damage that was on the car to a damage report which needed to be done within 24 hours of the start of hire .
Dropped the car off was told to just park it and leave the keys in the car which was my mistake i should have got an attendant to go over the car with me but i didnt .
Got home the deposit was refunded to me and i thought no more of it until nearly a week later when they took £401 out of my account for a scratch to a alloy said scratch had already been reported on damage report with the meta data . So after many weeks talking to enterprise in the uk i have finally managed to get my money back, refunded today 😀
But honestly I don’t think i would have got it if I hadn’t been so persistent .
And I wished i had read the reviews before i booked the car because by the looks of it I’m not the first that these totally corrupt individuals have tried to rip off and i wont be last 😡😡😡
AVOID, AVOID!
PLEASE, PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING WITH THESE MODERN DAY THIEVES!
I am incredibly disappointed with my experience. We were wrongly charged for vehicle damages that were already present when we picked up the car on 8th March 2026. Despite us providing clear, timestamped video with metadata and photographic evidence proving the damage existed prior to our rental, the company has completely ignored our dispute and simply taken a large amount of money (£730) without any communication or reply and it's now been over three weeks. Zero.
Their own checkout report was poorly documented with no supporting photos, yet they are holding us liable for pre-existing issues.
I beg you, avoid this company at all costs or consider walking. Their customer service is non-existent and their billing practices are completely unjust.
Absolute con artists - AVOID at all costs
Absolute con artists. This company is breaking almost every rule on the ECRCS rental guidelines and commiting insurance fraud in my opinion. Returned a car which had done 36000km and had any email about a 3-4mm scratch on one of the alloy wheels and have charged my card 427chf but have provided no evidence of the condition before the rental or the repair after. Have raised a ticket and plan to make a chargeback on my credit card and report them to ECRCS as should not be trading like this.
Very poor
Very poor. It took nearly 30min to check in. In that time all 3 of the previous customers had arguments with the check in staff about damage. On my rental they claimed that there was a scratch on the inside of the passenger door. It was certainly not me as I was by myself and only used the drivers door and the boot. They suggested I should have taken pictures of absolutely everything. So you are meant to open all doors and photograph! They have now opened a claim. I have been hiring cars for years and I have never seen such a return procedure with lights all over car and really looking for anything. Clearly seem to be incentivised to find damage. Avoid like the plague. I will never use this company again and will discuss with our corporate travel provider to black list them. You have been warned!
