I couldn’t recommend Mr Goel and his team enough, he has been very thorough throughout the whole process of my laser surgery journey. I had the SMILE laser and have had fantastic results, 20/20 vision and better with no issues or pain at all following the healing process. I would also like to thank my opticians Smith & Walker in Barton who I’ve been with for over 20 years now and have also given me lots of help and support on this journey and we’re also very impressed with my results following my surgery. If you’re looking for someone to do your eye surgery I 100% recommend Mr Goel and already have done to family and friends.

I was initially referred by Boots Opticians (Lincoln) via the NHS (Lincolnshire Referral Service) for cataract surgery on my right eye, which was causing significant glare. Unfortunately, the NHS ophthalmologist was quite dismissive of my condition due to the nature of my congenital cataract and mild amblyopia, leaving me with a mixed message about whether surgery would be appropriate. Having already researched the subject myself, I decided to seek a second opinion privately. I chose Mr Goel because of his extensive experience in advanced cataract surgery.
From the outset, I found Mr Goel very approachable. He listened carefully, answered my questions clearly, and gave me sound, balanced advice. After further tests and scans, he confirmed that surgery could be carried out and recommended a toric EDOF IOL to address my corneal astigmatism and provide some extended depth of focus. He was completely upfront about the potential risks and explained that the final outcome might be limited to some extent by my amblyopia.
The surgery went smoothly and without complications. Within 48 hours, the vision in my right eye had improved significantly — not only compared with my pre operative vision, but arguably beyond anything I had experienced in my lifetime. The glare and blur were gone, and I could read standard text without glasses, something I had not been able to do for several years due to presbyopia. Over the following days, my two eyes began working together far more effectively, leading to a noticeable improvement in stereopsis and 3D vision.
It is only two weeks since my operation, yet the results have already exceeded my expectations. I may continue to see further improvements over the coming weeks as my visual system adapts.
Should my left eye develop a cataract in the future, I would not hesitate to seek Mr Goel’s advice again.

I was referred to see Mr Goel, a Consultant Ophthalmologist from the Eye Correction Centre at Spire Hesslewood, by my optician (Andrew & Rogers, Beverley) due to cataracts. I was seen quickly for assessment including multiple tests done by a kind, professional and friendly Optometrist. The diagnosis and different treatment options, along with the risks and benefits of each, were clearly explained in a caring and professional manner. I had the opportunity to ask questions and raise minor concerns, which were reassuringly answered. My 2 procedures of advanced cataract surgery with placement of multifocal lenses were booked at my convenience and 1 week apart so that I did not struggle with unbalanced vision for long. I was extremely well cared for by the whole team before, during and after my surgery. Mr Goel was very clear about what would happen during the procedures which eased my anxiety and the surgeries went smoothly and ran on time. The after care instructions were easy to follow and I knew how to get help if any problems arose, but I didn’t have any. I was reviewed one week after each surgery and the results are amazing & life changing. No more glasses after 40 years of wearing them! I would highly recommend Mr Goel and team if you require similar surgery.

My optician Pravin Vekria recommended Mr Sid Goel after we reached a mutual decision regarding corrective eye surgery.
For over 40 years I had lived with short sightedness and a high prescription.
I hated wearing glasses and wearing contact lenses 24/7 was becoming inconvenient and problematic.
After a consultation with Mr Goel at Spire Hesslewood clinic it was decided ICL (implantable collamer lens) surgery was the most appropriate option for me.

Wonderful experience. I was treated for cataracts in both eyes and was advised by Mr. Goel that EDOF lenses were my best option due to me suffering from misalignment. I am thrilled with the result and have better vision now than when I was a teenager (a lot of years ago!). I had right eye lens replacement surgery, carried out by Mr Quah and I am extremely happy with the result. Mr Quah performed left eye lens replacement for me eight years ago and I was so impressed by his manner, expertise and skill that he was the only surgeon I considered when the sight in my right eye deteriorated.
He took the time to go through all the options with me and identified an issue with my left eye. He suggested some minor treatment for that (which did help to some extent) before resorting to surgery,

Over the past 18 months, Mr Hickley has carried out highly successful cataract operations for three of my relatives. Most recently, he treated my 94-year-old grandmother, who was virtually blind and understandably extremely nervous about the procedure.

From the very first appointment through to the operation itself, Mr Hickley showed exceptional care, patience, and professionalism, putting my grandmother completely at ease throughout. I recently had cataract surgery and lens replacement , after going to see my local optician Smith & Walker in Barton upon Humber who diagnosed my symptoms after a well know high street company missed it four times even though I paid for all the computer wizardry. For the last year my long distance sight was blurred and I needed a prism in my glasses too
The procedure itself was surprisingly quick and painless—I was in and out of the clinic in a few hours, and the actual surgery felt like it took less than 15 minutes. My surgeon Mr Goul who I must say is probably the best surgeon Iv met with regards his ease of explaining things and his vast knowledge plus the medical team he uses were incredibly professional, walking me through every step and making me feel completely at ease. I like to say a massive thank you again
Within 24 hours, my vision was great The "fog" is gone, colors are vibrant again, and for the first time in ages I can read signs and labels without reaching for my glasses If you’re on the fence, don’t wait. This surgery has truly improved my quality of life and I only wish I had done it sooner!

Post operation medication was very clearly explained with a great "tick sheet" to enable you to be sure that you did the right drops at the right time.
