Eye Correction Centre Avis 

I am responding to the recent cataract operations on both eyes on behalf of my Mother, Margaret. Many thanks to Mr Goel and his colleagues for providing such a professional and caring procedure which gave confidence and reassurance to my Mother in the pre-op and post-op phases. She is thrilled to have her eyesight restored and has returned to her avid reading and piano playing perfectly.

From the first meeting I had confidence, an ophthalmic optician carried out the scans and measurements in addition to my sight assessment. This was followed by sitting down with Mr Goel who carried out the final part of the assessment. The procedure and choice of Lenses was discussed at this point. my procedure dates proposed for both eyes with a week in between.
My first eye did not go according to plan, Mr Goel discovered my eye had suffered trauma at some point and required stabilising, he had the skills to deal with the issue and then proceed to fit the new lens.
The second eye went according to plan. So was back in the ward within 20 minutes. From arrival at the clinic to going home was less than 90 minutes.
The nursing staff at every step of the way were very helpful and empathetic. My pre assessment was carried out by Jo one of the nurses who had undergone cataract surgery with the Sam type of lenses being fitted, the EDOP to me. This was exceedingly helpful in talking through what to expect post surgery.

I checked out other clinics who are well known, but Spire Health was the only clinic to use an ophthalmic optician to carry out the scans in addition to the sight assessment.
Whereever you go make sure your consultant does more than cataract surgery, for example do they do cornea transplants etc. I am glad I did, just in case your one of the 10% like me.

I was a little nervous about the procedure but made feel so relaxed by all the team and so please with the outcome.

Following cataract surgery to both of my eyes, my vision now is great!
My surgery was complicated due to past laser treatment done elsewhere which was only effective for a year. On top of that, I developed astigmatism and cataracts so my vision was very poor.
Mr Goel went to great lengths in the pre assessment explaining in detail the best way forward, performing multiple tests for his calculations to ensure he could get the best vision possible for me and my lifestyle.
This was all done in a friendly approachable manner which really helped to put me at my ease.
My surgery went smoothly without any discomfort at all.
My outcome is exactly as he explained it would be.. excellent clear distance vision but I need glasses for near sight. Even my astigmatism has gone!
My care throughout was excellent, I cannot recommend Mr Goel highly enough for his individualised approach and expertise.

Meeting with Mr Say Aun Quah helps you learn what is the problem with your eyes and what can be done to get the best outcome .
Also the important thing we need to know is the cost and this is carefully explained .

I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Say Aun Quah for cataract surgery.
I had Lasik surgery for short-sightedness 20 years ago, so wanted the best treatment possible in case of complications.
From the start, Mr Quah was professional, approachable and reassuring, clearly explaining my options of different lenses. I had my first consultation at Bangor Eye Correction Centre with the cataract surgery being done a month later at the HCA Wilmslow Hospital. The operation was done under local anaesthetic, took approx. 15 minutes, and was completely pain-free. When the anaesthetic wore off, I had slight discomfort for a couple of days, but not even bad enough to take paracetamol.
I have had two follow-up consultations - Mr Quah is pleased and so am I! I would like to thank him and his team for their care throughout.

From start to finish the process was explained to me by Mr Goel so I had no questions unanswered. From the reception staff all the way up to Mr Goel everyone made me feel very well looked after.

We recently had an appointment with Mr Hickley to assess our 5 month old baby with mild ptosis. We couldn’t recommend him more highly. He was reassuring and very approachable and was happy to answer all of our questions no matter how simple. We are grateful to know that our son’s treatment will continue under his care.

I'm 32 years old and have been wearing glasses for the last 17 years. Whilst I was content to wear glasses in my day-to-day life, I found them a nuisance when swimming, diving, or playing sports. I asked my optician about laser eye surgery and he recommended I consult Mr. Say Aun Quah.

Mr. Quah was able to offer me a consultation at HCA Wilmslow Private Hospital very quickly.

Upon arrival, an optometrist performed several tests to establish the condition of my eyes before I saw Mr. Quah.

Mr. Quah then examined me, confirmed I was a suitable candidate for corrective surgery, and gave me a comprehensive overview of the different option available to me.

Following his advice, I opted for toric implantable contact lenses. These special contact lenses would be surgically implanted behind my natural lenses.

The lenses were order and a few weeks later I returned to the hospital to receive the implant in my left eye.

The treatment I received was superb. All the hospital staff were attentive and ensured I was comfortable and well looked after.

Mr. Quah was excellent. He fully explained the procedure to my satisfaction and the skill he demonstrated during the operation was exemplary.

The procedure was carried out under local anaesthetic, and lasted between 10 and 15 minutes. There was no pain or discomfort, and I received good post-operative care.

I returned to the hospital a couple of days later for my second operation. The treatment I received was as excellent as it has been during the first procedure.

The next day, the vision in my eye was great. There was very little, if any, discomfort during the recovery period.

Mr. Quah saw me again about a week after my second operation. My eyes were tested and the results showed that I has 20/20 vision.

I visited Mr. Quah again a month later and the vision in my eyes had improved further. My next appointment is scheduled for 12 months time.

The pre and postoperative care has been excellent, and I am thrilled with the results of the surgery. I have been thoroughly impressed by Mr. Quah. He is an immensely talented and compassionate surgeon, and I would highly recommend him to anyone thinking about undergoing corrective surgery.

I cannot speak highly enough about Mr Goel and his team. From my initial consultation with Mr Goel and his friendly optician, Aftab, I was treated with respect and patience. The procedure was explained in detail, enabling me to make an informed decision to go ahead. On the day of my first operation I was extremely anxious but Mr Goel and nurses Jo and Jan totally reassured me with their relaxed and professional manner. Revisited yesterday to have my second cataract removed and a new lense fitted.
I cannot recommend Mr Nick Hickley and his team at Spire Warrington highly enough. First day after my second treatment and the results already are amazing.
The colours are much brighter and my distant lenses work brilliantly for me. I chose the increased depth of field lenses for driving and riding my motorcycle.
Eyesight is improved and glare from incoming headlights is much better.

Each visit, I was seen at the appointment time provided - no waiting around. The staff were courteous & supportive giving clear explanations.
The experience felt efficient & professional with staff providing a good level of care. The nurses (Jan & Jo) were lovely: caring, efficient & personable.

I required cataract surgery but required a more specialised lens than the standard one offered on the NHS. I found Mr Goel to be very understanding and knowledgeable. I felt in good hands and that he understood my reservations. I decided to go for this specialised treatment as I wanted to be able to read without using glasses a lot of the time. I was quite an apprehensive, prospective patient, seeking Laser Eye Correction. At my first appointment with Mr Goel, I was immediately struck by his reassuring, caring, and conscientious demeanour, and the relaxed, informal way in he which he imparted every detail of the proposed procedure. Myself & my wife had initial consultation with many varying test to determine the correct level of eye correction required. My wife required surgery on both eyes where as I only needed left eye. We were provided lots of information along with in depth discussion with Mr Geol & his colleague regarding risks, outcomes & surgery on the day.
